In the rear, you can lift from the rear subframe crossbar and then jackstand the two subframe points behind the rear bumper. Once you know to look there they stand out like a sore thumb but I had never noticed them before.. Much better spot that the pinch weld for the rear. In the front, I lift from the pinch and then jackstand the subframe right near where the rear arm of the control arm mounts.

@@JNBTuning I think most people searching on UA-cam knows the basic for jack point next the the wheel but many of them are looking for second jackpoint location so they can put the jackstand behind the wheel.

Confused, what point are you using to jack the front up? You can't use the pinch weld or the MQB jack point because then you can't fit both the jack and the jack stand. Are you using part of the subframe?
Yes you can, place the floor jack (preferably low profile) as close to the front tire as possible, the you should be able to place the stand on the pinch weld.

You are right they did not. In fact my R flaps are off my late MK7 1.8T Golf that I retrofitted to fit like OE on the facelift 7R. In fact if you don’t want to go to all the trouble you can order these from the dealer and will work for the Facelift 7R: -2017 GTI front: 5GV-075-116 -2018 GTI rear: 5GV-075-105A
Another great video. Like me, you seem to enjoy the underside of your R (in my case the GTI). Most ordinary folks wouldn't have the slightest idea what it looks like, never mind understand what's what... I do have the rear jack points, but I guess I should also get the fronts. I was reluctant at first as it seems a lot of hassle. But once installed, jacking up is very easy. Thanks brother for showing in detail. By the way, I think you must have detailed the R, it looks cleaner than the day it rolled off the production line in Wolfsburg. I love the exterior color, what was it called again, carbon grey, steel grey or indium grey? I forgot the names..

As the title and comment section suggests this process of lifting is if you have an OEM Audi Jack-point/pad kit installed hence not needing to show… I have a separate video of what and how is the kit is all about. Cant Jack using the jacking points and lower it on the jack stands on the same place so you need to show where these areas are!

This vid is all about lifting your golf if you have the “Audi Jackpot Kit”. With out the kit installed, this technique will not work for you

So I just place my trolly jack on the engine sump to lift, ?? Sounds easy, good job

Where is your wind deflectors from? OEM vw? They sit alot closer to the windows then my oem vw Wind deflectors….
