I said it before... its insane to like rarity collection style products at all as a collector because theyre HORRIBLE for you people. However, theyre insanely good for basically everybody else because they tank card prices lol
I wish MTG would tank prices like yugioh haha itd make the game way more playable
For real. Been wanting to collect MTG, but when new boxes are 400 bucks in release, it's just not worth it imo.
That's why as a collector, I don't mess around with English cards. Japanese card are just better in every single way.

Let this be a learning case for people. 1 never buy modern product in the hopes that it will go up in price in the long run and 2 don't max rarity your deck as there will be a higher rarity of that card or similar which will tank the rarity of the original high rarity card you bought.

What i've learned from this series and something i'm doing myself is... thru time cards that aren't meta relevant will go down in price... I have a list of cards I need for my collection and since the first time I made the list they went from 1.3K to 850 USD and i mean some will go up a little but the majority will go down as the time passes by

It seems that shiny cardboard does not appreciate in value. It only seems to work when you sell at peak value/hype spikes.
Edit: 100% you should sell if you find any value appreciation. It's fun to see you follow the trends but it sucks to see you lose money. You should sell cards like you did with the Traptrix Traphole Nightmares.
Edit 2: Glad my suggestion for the LOB box is paying off! Sealed product FTW!
It's funny that he's even seeing the box work out because they were $150 here and now they're down to 120.
And the non LOB boxes are down to like 70 now from 85 - 95.
And since we're talking about CAD just cut off a third if you want USD.

That is so ironic that happened in May 2021 I also ordered a Judgment Dragon Secret on eBay and it got lost in the mail too it eventually did show up but I hope yours does too!
Series is fun, but the hits were hard... I think that sealed products are the safest option in the long run

crazy how so many cards in RA01 went up very high, except the cards Ruxin purchased.
i like how this series started when markets kept going up and there was a ton of hope - now we're all just masochists watching the prices drop xD
With how many reprints that have been happening i dout anything other than the highest possible rarity will increase in any value
It's funny how the packages that get lost are always the ones worth money. That's why I think tracked shipping for expensive stuff is almost a must.
The problem is tracked shipping always takes longer because more people think that way and the more time it spends in the system the more time it has to disappear.
Been ordering online for many years and thousands of packages and never had one disappear.
Unless you count the Amazon one where someone along the delivery path clearly shoved their fist into my box and stole half the order and then Amazon haggled with me to even get that half back because for 20 minutes they refused to do anything unless I sent the whole thing back even though I got half of it and didn't want that refunded.
It having tracking didn't help with any of that.
I will generally order from someone for the first time with tracking just in case they're not trustworthy but otherwise if possible I choose the option that doesn't have it.
Why would I wait 6 to 8 days (if I'm lucky, sometimes it's over 20) for a tracked package that costs 12 to 90 dollars depending upon the selection, when I can pay $2 or 3 and they ship it in an envelope that arrives in 3 days?
I regularly have tracked packages in country that take longer to get to me than it takes a normal piece of $1 shipping lettermail to get from Japan. No thanks.
Seems like the lesson is collect to appreciate and not to profit haha
It really hits when you see the price going down. The market will always surprise you.
I know from a collector point the reprints suck but as a guy just getting back into it after 20 years im happy for the reprints else i would have had to spend alot more money to build my deck lol
The thing about Yugioh is reprints after reprints so players can have easier access to meta cards therefore the value always dip or doesn't maintain for long. For collectors it has to be the highest rarity/rare to obtain cards to maintain it's value.
Money is coming back rux believe lol

Your next series should be on sealed items to see if you get good value after a year.

Sealed product is about the only thing worth holding. Even the top modern rares are really only worth holding if you acquired them for super cheap.
One thing to note although I think I makes little diffrence overall. When you checked the price on Gate Guardian from Midterm Paradox you went to the Common print which is 0.03$ but it says you bought the secret rare. So you are still probably losing money on that aswell but not 99% XD

I usually don't follow the price, but I remember every year after the tin release, opening last year boosters became meaningless, because almost all higher rarity cards lost it's value.
