Interesting and helpful analysis and perspective David - thank you. The idea that the recent trend in the 10/20 year simply reflects the yield curve getting back to a more 'normal' shape hadn't occurred to me. As you said though, your history chart says that might not be as benign as it sounds. All through 24 I've been ignoring short term pullbacks on the strength of the LT trend and a strong-looking NYSE cumulative A/D line. That A/D line broke down through its 100-day in mid-Dec, bearing a fingerprint not altogether unlike Nov/Dec 2021. That has been a pretty good early warning sign in the past. Some very interesting food for thought here.
Good morning David, if you're more of a short term swing trader do these longer term market trend models really have an impact on your daily trading? By this I mean that by the time the meaningful data arrives the Lag time is too great? So if you're a swing trader best to interpret Keller 'Short term model?
I feel investors should be focusing on under-the-radar stocks, and considering the current rollercoaster nature of the stock market, Because 35% of my $270k portfolio comprises of plummeting stocks which were once revered and i don't know where to go here out of devastation.
Hi Sean - Extra members should be able to go back 25 years on charts (only Pro members can see further back than 25 years). If you can't see 25 years as an option - please contact our support group and they'll be happy to help you get it figured out. support@stockcharts.com
REALLY good explanation if the yield curve, why it's important, and what's possibly down the road. Will save your chart to my Stockcharts acct. Q: how do bond funds handle recessions? If long rates are going up, bonds funds would be losing value, right? Where's the safe haven?

I'm a stockcharts extra member. I can't get charts to go back more than 20 years. What am I doing wrong?
