Following discussing the tour postponement, they got to reminiscing about Dave & we thought everyone would prefer to hear those memories uninterrupted on this occasion.

What a fantastic lovely tribute to Dave..I love the banter between the two of you and the friendship between you really shines through … I will be honest and confess I drifted away from the stranglers I thought they were a spent force but I personally felt once Baz was on board and sharing vocal duties that old magic returned I’m loving the new single what a beautiful tribute and I agree with J.J the guitar is fantastic….
To see JJ break down over Dave is so heart wrenching
Thanks for sharing those memories of Dave. I also couldn't listen to the Stranglers for weeks after Dave died and I didn't know him personally. Must be so hard for you guys to lose his personality from the band and your lives.
There really is no other band quite like the Stranglers.
The best chat yet... so good to see their camaraderie, humour & warmth. Tears me up to see JJ so upset. Can't wait to hear the album & to see em live soon.

Heeey! Both. I have just got onto your RAT catchup! I have been a fan since 1977. I bought a army cover all around then after peaches. Dave had one as I recall! I then went on to join the army! Not cos of Dave mind, nor the song tank! Which was fooookin awsome! I served around 17 years infantry and airborne..
I’m now old ! Am I fuck like!✨😂 thanks for all your years. I saw you in Guildford in 2017 when you done the black and white album! Fuckin great. I and my wife have booked to see you in Brighton in Feb 2022. Hopefully not the last. And if I see Dave, I will say hello......my bad times , my doubts and my my fucking insanity is made all the easier by you.

This chinwag between Baz and J.J. just confirms that Dave Greenfield's musical contribution to the Stranglers' sound was massive and probably the biggest contribution from any of the original four (no disrespect to Baz who followed) . J.J. had an amazing individualistic grunting bass sound, Hugh had a kind of disjointed but perfect lead/rhythm guitar sound, Jet had that solid beat that never failed, but Dave's keyboard sound was something else again, be it that beautiful erotic playing on Baroque Bordello or that unbelievably menacing playing on Nice 'n Sleazy,...these kind of players don't come around that often.
It's so great to see how well these two get on with each other
