Here is another fun Get Ready With Me video! This time, I'm heading to a Wedding and you guys will join me while I get ready from START to FINISH.
You'll be joining me while I:
Do my nails
Apply my makeup
Style my hair
Pick my outfit
Pick my jewelry
Pick my shoes
& pack essentials for my clutch
I went to bed with a camera next to me so when I wake up, I can film the whole process. I actually had trouble sleeping because I had a terrible migraine so I woke up looking extra tired. My skin isn't in best condition either because I had an allergic reaction to the makeup used on me for our PreWedding Photoshoot. Hope you guys don't mind ^^
To be honest, I had no idea how I was going to do my makeup, hair or nails. I didn't even plan what I was going to wear either so it was actually really fun to do everything on the spot without planning. Let me know if you guys like these types of videos. Hope little Chubbi and Domo made you smile too!

Bubz, why are you wearing white to a Wedding?
I actually wore a cream dress and I wore a pink jacket (which I never took off) to break up the light tones. However, might be worth mentioning the bride actually wore many many dresses throughout the night of different colours. I remember seeing a gold dress, then two white dresses and two red gowns. If this is the case, us girls wouldn't have been allowed to wear a lot of colours lol. In Hong Kong/China, a lot of the brides wear up to 7-8 dresses and from what I know, it's not a problem for guests to wear white. To be honest, even in my actual wedding day (for the Western Ceremony etc), I don't think I'll be too bothered either? But maybe that's just personal preference.

You have to take into account if you're going to a Western wedding or a Wedding with a different cultural background. I went to a Chinese banquet dinner. Black is considered unlucky (more of a colour that's not recommended) and yet lots of people wore it. Lots of my girlfriends also wore cream. I never took off my jacket. Not all weddings are all about the white dress. Chinese banquets are more focused on the red gown.

In asia, it's fine to wear white (and black too) in a wedding, and the wedding dress color for the night party isn't only white, the bride can wear any color she liked.
Also keep in mind that Asian and Western culture is different.

The bride's colour is red in southeast Asia, unlike western weddings so nope, her wearing white is not a problem, a no-go or any big deal at all.
It's true. In Vietnam you can pretty much wear any color you like, because we for a fact know that nobody is as beautiful as the bride on her wedding day:)

Did it ever occur to you that there are other cultures besides the western culture, and that different cultures have different wedding customs? For example, at Kate Middleton's wedding the bridesmaids wore white. That is the custom in their culture. The same goes for the culture in Hong Kong. The bride wears several different colored dresses there and so it doesn't matter if the guests wear white.
i think you need some new friends if one of your guests didn't know who was the bride on your wedding day.....

They are really good doggies. Chubbi is a bit more mischievous and Domo is a bit clumsy (sometimes misses the doggy pad when he pees/poos) but I can honestly say they are well behaved pups. Very blessed to have them in my life.

In many Western cultures it IS rude to wear White, Ivory, Cream etc... As those colours are for the bride only, but most don't really mind. If you read the Description Box thing, she does state it's nit he same in China etc... It's her choice anyway.

I personally think that it's not a big deal.People should concentrate on bride and groom spending rest of lives together rather than exterior. I went to a Chinese themed wedding which meant the bride wore 6-7 dresses of different colours. Nobody can top that. If this is the case, the ladies won't be able to wear a lot of colours. I'm having a Western ceremony for my wedding next August and honestly, I don't even care if people wear white. I'm getting married and to me- that's all that matters =)
Or a Chinese wedding, where wearing white means NOTHING -_-

I don't even see the big deal? In Hong Kong im sure that they have their traditions like how we have ours. Maybe they couldn't care less about the colour. The only reason people don't wear white to a wedding (apart from the bride) is because we don't want attention AWAY from the bride. But im pretty sure people there will obviously know who the bride is, so it's fine what she is wearing, im sure that no one made a fuss of it.
In many Asian weddings, the bride wears red. In any case, this was not YOUR wedding Bubz was going to. Stop expecting everyone in the world to follow your customs and standards. I'm so sorry your wedding day was tainted by the presence of people who loved you and were supporting this step in your life wearing white - I'm sure it really took away from your enjoyment of the day - honestly, if it did, I feel sorry for your husband.
Hahaha that's pretty sad. With a pink blazer and a dress like that she doesn't look like a bride. Yes, it is an important day, but no one is gonna die if you wear a white dress that doesn't even look like a wedding dress. The wedding dresses LOOK like wedding dresses and NO ONE (I bet on that) is going to get confused with another simple white dress... Don't be such a drama queen.
In my best friends wedding the bridesmaids including me and her guests are wearing white dresses. I politely ask her why it the motive of her wedding is white and why she let other guests wear white and she told me "It doesn't really matter if they wear white or not what really matters for me is that they come to celebrate the unity of me and my husband." My best friends is right and if you got offended at least they show up celebrate with u at least they did not crash the wedding.
Just saying but her viewers aren't all American. She speaks English because it is an universal language. So if she doesn't respect the Western traditions of marriage it doesn't matter. The couple who is getting married is Chinese , they are in China. And she did clarify her decision. Just read the information box ( or whatever it is called)

What I don't get is, if you're going to a wedding, shouldn't you already know who the bride is? Regardless of who else may be wearing a white dress?

Read the description please. It's cream and she wore a pink blazer throughout the wedding. And us Chinese don't care what you wear to a wedding. We change a lot throughout the wedding so it really doesn't matter. It's our tradition. Hope I didn't sound too rude here.

Is the white dress rule only for the U.S.? When I go to weddings, even if you look really done-up you get dirty looks. The bride has to be the center of attention. You certainly can't wear white, it's considered rude. But that's awesome you can wear what you want and no one will get offended!
is there a difference with dabbing your lipstick and just normally applying it

Yeah the guest at your wedding was probably not very considerate to wear a white enough dress for others to confuse her as the bride - but Bubzbeauty's outift is perfect! The white dress she chose was romantic and quite princess-like, but then she added a blazer to clearly show that she isn't the bride.

tbh its just common courtesy to not wear white(eek esp if its frilly and white, like bubz's dress D: I heart her.. but maybe not this dress) and I could understand if the bride would be frustrated because it seems a little like you're trying to outshine them on their day, but I would agree with you because for them it really wouldnt be polite to kick you out once you've shown up. And you're invited because you're important to them, so all the more reason why they wouldn't kick you out :)

I'd like to correct you about english, it is a universal language because of the british empire, Hong Kong until 1994 was part of the British Empire, which although conquering many countries accross the world did not enforce so called "western" traditions but they were merely adapted. Bubz stated her reasons why you felt the need to question others choices is your own issue, Bubz encourages all of her viewers to have their own voice but not to force it on others
i wonder..when does a bride have time to wear that many dresses?? i mean 8?? wtf?? in my country you only get one dress or maybe 2 :one before church at the registration and one at the church and the party after(the white dress)..i think it's more than enough you're at a wedding not at a fashion show...you don't need to expose all your closet it's insane and it doesn't make sence!
When I get married I'll tell every one that they can wear what they want cus you know what, who cares? I won't if they wanted to wear white and I said no they would not be happy and I would feel bad on my big day. People can wear whatever they want. And white dresses were not used untill Queen Victoria got married so the whole "white wedding" thing is still kinda recent (like not ever since the first marriage ever)
i was wearing a simple white gown, i will never forget the look of my guests who were embarrassed because they thought another guest was the bride. please don't "imagine" things and assume things. fact is fact, it has happened! it's even recorded on my wedding video. for those of you who think that i am stupid, you clearly have not shown any empathy. i did not get pissed off at the guest on my wedding day, instead, i had to force a smile upon my face and told everyone i was "ok". grow up
The bride wore different dresses through out the day, gold,red, white etc. So I'm sure she didn't mind, plus who would think she's the bride when she's wearing a PINK jacket (which she didn't take off at all!) and lastly I'm sure there was a pretty big difference between her dress and the bride's dress. BTW I'm sure you looked amazing on your wedding day so you properly had the spotlight all on you...

If you were to have a western ceremony then I would agree that it wouldbe best to follow the etiquette. However there are many ways to have a western ceremony. In my country it's not such a bad thing to wear white to a wedding, as long as you know it won't bother the bride (and yes this is a western country) Any way; the point I am trying to make is that although many Chinese may refer to their wedding as a western wedding it's not. Sometimes the only western thing is the wedding dress.
If we were talking about a western ceremony wih westerners as the bride and groom I would agree with you. However, in my experience; In Chinese weddings, "western" merely means that there's a western inspired ceremony (vows), and the bride wears a white wedding dress as one of her dresses; the rest is Chinese; meaning that the guests would follow the chinese wedding etiquette not the western one.

No you're right. Only the bride should wear white and no one should look more fabulous than her. It's the polite thing to do. I'm not interested in getting married any time soon, probably never. But my best friend is getting married in a couple of months and I'm the maid of honor. There's no way I'm wearing white or an extravagant dress to her wedding.

thank you for being honest and showing that you felt the same way i did. a lot of people here are unable to feel what we felt and actually attack me for being "stupid and annoying" and asked me to "get over it". i have forgiven my guest, but i will not forget. that's why i am telling people that they should consider not wearing white or cream.
