This videos will give an idea about hot metal pouring in Electric Arc furnace. Hot metal produced by blast furnace and transferred to SMS through charging trolley. Hot metal, DRI & Scrap used as input materials of EAF. Hot metal & Scrap charged through EOT Crane and DRI charged through Weigh Feeder.

Off gassing while melting metal is a field of study on its own next to metallurgy. I would imagine life expectancy there gets cut by 30 years.
