I guessed 45 min for the actual cleaning out of the palette. I have the same one, and there are a few spots where it's tricky to get clean, like the raised spot you mentioned. I go in with wet q tips for the tricky details and a magic eraser to get the plastic white again. But I also rarely clean mine, as I also love the palette dirt. It's as good as gold! Many times I've been asked what colors I used to mix a lovely shade of this or that and just replied "palette dirt" with a grin. Several times I've come home from class with a wet palette that has shifted during transport. Color has been known to drip and flow inside the palette and make a minor mess, but it has never leaked outside the seals to get other things wet and dirty. Maybe that's what Mijello had in mind, perhaps? It's definitely good for short travel trips in as horizontal a position as can be managed. "Bambooger" is hilarious! I hope I can remember that for a while. That's awesome.
Oh yeah, I definitely thought about breaking out the qtips, but after so many hours I was just ready to be done!! 😅 That is a really good point about the wet palette though. Maybe it's more to keep things from spilling out, than to keep the paint wet. It's still a great palette, and I really like it, even if it took me a minute to get used to how much space it takes up on my desk. I like that it has lots of big wells, and lots of mixing space to save up the palette dirt we love! LOL I'm glad someone besides me appreciates "bambooger". It's permanently stuck in my head, so...🤣
I love love LOVE the big wells and so much mixing space! It's definitely a trade-off with taking up so much real estate. But worth it. Keeping paint wet after it's touched water or air can actually cause mold to grow over time, even as short as a few days. (Ask me how I know. Yuck! That was a q-tip day for sure! And so sad to lose good paint.) Bamboogers forever!
LOL I can't believe it took this long. It's so ridiculous!! But there was SO MUCH cat hair stuck in that paint, which I guess is one of the downsides of the honey paint. I don't care. It's worth it, and now it's done, and I won't do it again for at least another year. Maybe it'll be my Vlogmas tradition? 🤣
I was going to guess it took 30 minutes until you pulled out the pick and started to show all the hair, lol. Then it bumped up to a few hours. Ha finish the video tomorrow, though. Long day and falling asleep. See you tomorrow!
Hahahaha honestly that's what happened to me while I was cleaning it. I was really looking for something fairly quick to do for a vlog... and it just kept taking more and more time. 😅 Hope you got some good sleep!!!!

Yea, finally got to finish this video! 4.5 hours is a lot, but that did include making a new swatch sheet, so that counts as something, too!
