Thanks! Great that you liked the video so much. It was a challenge to resurrect the office. Because this small space shows that John Lautner is great in small designs.
Thank you for researching and showing this fantastic space, just another testament of the mans genius and creative adaptability to produce such high quality design solutions. Praise must also be given to his benefactor - James Goldstein for allowing the Master to do his magic. The real winners here are those who now get to enjoy this work thanks to your efforts. Excellent work again my friend! G
Thanks! Your comment stimulates me to make more videos because I like to preserve the legacy of John Lautner and show to other people how great his work is. This office shows especially how brilliant he was because it looks so large while the space is actually very small. More videos about Lautner's various amazing designs will come up soon!
Wow, another amazing video, Jop. The office is like a John Lautner house in miniature. Some museum should really set it up and make it a permanent installation. People would enjoy walking around and feeling how it is to be in the space.
@@SuperJobbel John is one of my favorite Architects. His work is other World and functional as well. I wish I could have be one of his students for he passed away.
One of the reasons why I made this video was to create more attention for this beautiful design. I hope it will be exhibited soon. Why I like the most about it: It indeed looks so large, but it is actually very small.
You're welcome! Great that you liked it. Although I made a video about most John Lautner houses, there are still some brilliant designs that are not captured in an episode yet. So there are still some great houses to come! John Lautner keeps surprising me every time, how well crafted his houses are.
@@SuperJobbel ergnomic is not the optimal design as humans needs all factors into a design and Lautner has understood this in his aspiration to organic nature influence on his architecture It would have been fantastic if he has written some thoughts?
Wow , its really great to read that you came to know John Lautner thanks through the videos! I started this channel because there was so little information about his houses and I believed he deserved more attention, so its wonderful to know that I succeeded in doing so. More videos about Lautner and other architects will come up. Also nice to hear that you liked my Dutch accent, not everybody appriciates it. I try to improve the videos each time. :)
This office would be great as the centerpiece for a new building with a view in PalmSprings. People don't fully appreciate the quality of views from Palm Springs center to the San Jacinto mountains, also the air and light. This office could elevate that in my opinion.
Good idea to place the office in Palm Springs. The city has indeed a great skyline with lots of MCM architecture. It such a waste that this office is still in a Museum depot. But you should build an office that is inspired by this design.
This has quickly become favorite channel! It started with an obsession with architecture in general, and then Frank Lloyd Wright, which led me to your Fallingwater video. Incredible! I live for your diagrams and organization of your videos. My college campus is like 10 minutes away from FLW's Allen house and our Corbin Education Center on campus was designed by Wright as well! It would be really cool to see a video about the Allen House. I hope to be able to make time for a tour of it one day!
Wow! Great to hear that you like this channel so much., this stimulates me to make more videos. I amlost finish with capturing all the John Lautner homes and then I will start with capturing more FLW houses: the Allen House is also on my list... but I don't know when it will come. Thank you and till the next video.
Yes, that's what he should have done. As for now the office is still lying in wooden crates somewhere in the basement of the museum. I hope we have a change to see someday.
The last thing I heard was that the director of the LACMA wants to build the office as his personal office, so still no public display yet..... I think it would be great as an art installation in a museum.
Thank you. It would be great to know :What City? , What street? What park is that? What direction is it facing? Location is helpful in understanding architecture.
Here are your answers: - Place: Century City in Los Angeles - Adress: 10100 Santa Monica Boulevard, suite 2030 - facing: bevely hills and hollywood in the north. - park: the beverly country club (golf club) i hope i have answered your question, feel free to ask more. Best wishes :)
Amen on "resurrecting" that office. What a great little snack of a video! Cheers, Jop!

Yes, there are lately some rumors that it's finally going to be exhibited in the museum . Still it are just rumors....
I would make the trip from Cle Elum, WA to visit the Lautner designed office exhibit.
You really took me by surprise at the end of this video, because I didn't know JL designed other lesser-known structures. Very interesting.
John Lautner's career was full of surprises. He designed so many different things.
So futuristic, it looks like a office in the 23rd century! George Jetson we would be so happy! Only in California! 😎
Very good description of this office! I really enjoyed your funny comment!

Exceptional small space office design, and to think it only was in use for ten years. It's a shame it can't be viewed today.

Maybe me!!! I could live my life complete with an office such as a ‘John Lautner’ original. Spectacular
I guess everybody wants an office like this. Never a blue Monday or a boring day at the office.
This is a beautiful analysis. Thank you very much. :)
You're welcome! I like to analyse his work, more content will come up.
Great video again. Like the interiors as much as the buildings, like a tailor made capsule.
Indeed, a tailor made capsule is a good way to describe this office!
love the division of space. the copper reflections of light are stunning. thank you for this video🙃

Thank you very much again. I've learned more. 👍

Great. I've never seen such a space, where an architect re-designs an interior.
Me neither, but John Lautner designed multiple similar spaces. I think more offices should look this way!

Goldstein should have demanded that the museum would resurrect the office in an appropriate location.
Yes, that's what he should have done. As for now the office is still lying in wooden crates somewhere in the basement of the museum. I hope we have a change to see someday.
The office/artwork needs to to be displayed.
