    I think I said the Thermarest Pad I'm using is 1.7 ounces which is insane! I meant to say 1lb 6 ounces. Livestream Wednesday. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.

    The floor is lava! 🤣🤣 Love that Outlook on Creek crossings. Also, crossing, then realizing you need to go back and get your camera is real.
    We love our down sea to summit pillows.

      I mean it's a great pillow, but it better be for $70! I better not get a hole in it 😄

    Never thought of hiking trail 400 in the winter. Spring and fall are good times to hike it, with fall being easier because the stream is shallower. I've only met a handful of dirt bikers in the couple times I've been out there, even on a weekend.

    Nice spot! I bikepacked this trail 2 summers ago. Sorta doesn't count because it was only about 2-3 miles in on the bike. My shoes and socks were still wet the next morning, even after building a fire because it was just wet wet wet. There was a motorcycle somewhere up there and it sounded like he was having trouble getting his bike started, but I could never find him. It was a fun ride down the next morning despite the swimming.

    I’ve been on this trail in the spring on horseback. It’s a great trail if you can get on it before it’s open to dirt biking :). Great video!

    Jon, I've been doing some duck hunting in East Idaho. Staying dry out here with these frozen creek beds is the hardest sh!t I've ever done.

    Hey Jon ! Question, what do you primarily use for navigation? I do not have the Garmin in reach and would primarily be using my phone for navigation. Do you have any recommendations for a navigation app to use that i can access both popular nad low-key trails ? Thanks !! Keep up the great content 👍🏽.

      Thanks! Honestly I’ve never used an app before, before the garmin I did the map and compass thing. I like to plan my own route with google earth and load it into the Garmin. You see stuff in the planning that you can mark for exploration. Sorry I know that’s zero help to you 😂😂😂

    How did you get the interior of your tent dry before packing it back up??

    • @JonConti
      @JonConti 2 роки тому

      I just shook it out. It wasn't that wet. I spilled my water bottle setting up that shot! So it was in a pretty isolated spot. Shook out the tent, packed it up, and dried it fully when I got home.

    May I ask where you got a Thermarest xtherm pad? They’re sold out everywhere! Well at least the large one which I need. I bought the S2S extreme instead but man is it bulky!!

    • @JonConti
      @JonConti 2 роки тому

      I have the s2s as well cuz I couldn’t find the xtherm either. I signed up on thermarest’s website for a notification when they restock. Got notified, bought it, I think they were in stock one day.

      @@JonConti I did see that they briefly had them on the Thermarest site but now I will only buy pads from REI due to their generous return policy. I bought an Uberlite directly from Thermarest and it’s developed a micro leak and I’ve been trying to get it replaced under warranty but Thermarest customer service won’t even acknowledge my request. Can you please do a comparison between the S2S and Xtherm? I’ve seen other reviews which said the S2S is not as warm as it’s R value leads you to believe.

      @@alexl8328 o man we’re totally on the same wave length! That’s why I buy most of my gear from REI. Unfortunately it’s my guess they won’t be able to restock this pad until after the winter season, so you may have to go through thermarest or wait it out with the s2s. I’ll do a comparison video. In the mean time check out this guys comparison video ua-cam.com/video/-X7SLeIK9ZA/v-deo.html it’s the best video about these pads. Really helped me understand them and will help you get the most out of the s2s.
