Nicely done - I love NECA, their attention to detail in care for their work speaks for the end product, I respect he hell out of Randy, and the sculpt/design team. The fact is though plastic they use is brittle and cheap to keep costs down, likely - with some kind of filler/resin quality vs having the give and flex of a higher cost plastic. NECA is officially filed as a "Wholesale Non-durable Goods" private company, and when we look at what that category is - it is paper and paper products, chemicals and chemical products, drugs, textiles and textile products, apparel, footwear, groceries, farm products, petroleum and petroleum products, alcoholic beverages, books, magazines. So they are very protected against the complaints of posing their products, "playing" or essentially opening their products - they themselves classify their product as a nondurable good! Other than that slick maneuver, I enjoy the hell out of their stuff, but "action" figures they aint ;)

I'd recommend watching a few UA-cam videos about Defenders of the Earth. Especially Toy Galaxy's video.
Flash Gordon, Phantom, Mandrake were oldschool Golden Age comic book heroes. From King Comics.
DotE was kind of their 80s crossover version of a Justice League or Avengers group of these characters.
Ming The Merciless was Flash's villain. And the villain of the DotE show.
I'm pretty sure some episodes of the 70s Flash Gordon cartoon and the 80s DotE are on UA-cam.

Picked up Flash Gordon at walmart today. Dang they are fantastic figures. Made sure to heat up before working joints. Wish they would release a Superman again. These figures have the perfect look for super hero bodies. They need to do some ladies if sci fi like Barbarella or deja thoris
They are on their way to my House right now. The water is already simmering on the stove for when they arrive. Thanks NECA we really love blowing and seething our figures, it brings us so much joy. 😎
Zuffy He is a Zuffiod who helped Rick to hide from Ming, on the Planet Mongo. When Flash came to rescue his wife from Ming's machine, The Inquisitor, it was destroyed. Luckily Zuffy rescued the crystal that had Dale's personality downloaded into it
I'd also be happy with less than 250 points of articulation on figures these days. I seemed to get by as a kid with 2-3.
Me and my dad bought those today and yesterday at 2 targets 🎯 🎯 we both got our own sets.
I pre-ordered these after a looooot of hesitation. LOVE the characters... but goddammit, NECA. UP YOUR GAME

I have that Phantom figure arriving any day now. I feel like if I stare too hard at him in the video, he will break. I will be sure to have a pot ready to boil water. How long should they be left in the water?
I have almost no connection to these characters but they're really cool. I might get them anyways.
I picked up Phantom at Target before my pre order on BBTS filled. I think he is one of the best figures of the year at this point. Maybe even top 5. I passed on Flash Gordon and Ming, which I am now regretting.
As for quality issues, my copy had paint loss in the ankle joints of all places. On the positive side, I was able to articulate and pose him without having to hot tub him first. Now I just need to decide which plasma/laser rays I'm going to pose him with.
Does anyone reading know what the most accurate usage is to the character?

NECA sucks, I hate having to warm them up...
I am not really a NECA fan but I actualy just bought a NECA TMNT Super Shredder as I thought it looked amazing. Even though it was annoying having to pour boiling water over the joints I am glad I did as it is an awesome figure. Now I will have to get some TMNT figures LOL.
As much as I dislike the painted joints on the DOTE figures I definitely want to get them as they look awesome.

That commercial is hilariously with its racists xenophobic undertones. Love how they paint Ming with stereotypical exotic features as evil and merciless, and specifically call out how Flash is an American hero, who's here to not just save America but the entire earth.
