The whole Musical is a spectacle and a half! And, if I'm being honest, I love The Phantom, the Title Character! He is so handsome in Black! The Red Death Costume in the Why So Silent? Scene! Wow! I love The Phantom so much!
I'm sad they're not using this Red Death costume anymore. I honestly loved the piece, but I'm just thankful I'm seeing the show for the second time next year.
papersami they're still using it (on the West End anyway) - I attended a show 2 months ago starring Ben Lewis as the Phantom and this was the Red Death costume that was used.
Her part (and Raoul's) have the line "And who can name the face?" (at 1:35) separately from the rest, but I don't know if there are others, or if they meld with the rest of the chorus beforehand.
Two actors, two costumes; I don't believe the actor playing the Phantom is in either costume. Or perhaps he is in the first one, and carries on singing for the second one to lip-sync.
There are secret dors and stunt doubles in this scene, that's why in the 25th anniversary he doesn't do that, since the royal Albert hall doesn't have secret dors
I think Gerard Butler's version of The Red Death Costume was handsomer than the one used here! Gerard Butler's version of The Phantom was handsomer in general!
@@MrNoUsername yes, thank you, but I was being facetious. It's so very hammy and OTT, untrue to the original intention, not to mention vocally flawed by dodgy musical intonation and overproduced vocal lines.
It must've been grand to see Masquerade live! ONE DAY.
A truly wonderful cast.
He sings a high C Sharp at 7:06. That’s definitely not written. 😮
Ths is why JoJ is the best Phantom
Yeah! ...fabulous!!!!!!!:):)
Beautiful moments of this musical!

@@everycolourinthesky Must be the tour
5:31 when the strictest teacher ever comes back to school while the students thought he retired
Dat laugh!!!
Does Christine Daae sing all of Masquerade with the rest of the cast in the Masquerade Scene? Or does she have her own lines in Masquerade?

She’s also singing the last chorus but in most broadways she stops earlier and in others sings all of it with all the rest characters
Rachel’s ‘Christine’ is just... wow.
And not the good kind of wow.
ACE....!!!!!!! .....all voices sound more real and fresher than any I've heard before!!!!!!!!:):)
As much as the Red Death costume looks great... I'm sorry, it just looks so goofy! Especially with the moving mouth!
don't like this christine too ninny sierra and emmi !😁
The moving mouths the best part XD

i dont like that it is wide open on his face for some reason
The whole thing kinda reminded me of Barney hehe. Also, don't look at the crotch area of that costume 😁.
this is how Red Death from Arrowverse is supposed to look like - scary - wearing red and a skull on his face
Who played Raoul here?
perfer niamh myself more a relaxed raoul !😏
Oliver Thornton - Only credible Raoul I've seen in 14 shows
How did get from the bottom of the stairs when the bang went off to the stop of the stairs?

the second one is just another actor who moves his mouth to what the phantom says/laughs. JOJ is the first one.

His mask looks like V for Vendetta, without the mustache though!
DJTR stands for???
Gabi Dulcich "Don Juan Triumphant" I believe
Cheesedud6 oooh Don Juan Triumphant Raaw?? XD
Well probably you are right
thank you
Perhaps the R stands for rehearsal
Cheesedud6 AAH yes!! you are correct!! Is Don Juan Triumphant Rehearsal!!
thank you very much
To be honest I wouldn't mind his songs a change from sodding ed sheeran zzzz
:) ...haha!:) ...I totally avoid that stuff!:) xx

Gérard Butler’s costume might be more handsome but the west end costume fits the red death character better.
Yes. If only he could sing.
Christine Daae only problem being that the Phantom is meant to be ugly.
I agree with you on this one. Although of course The Stage version of the costume is still admirable.
I agree, except Butlers Phantom is garbage
Is this a high school performance?
Lupo A. Janelli No, this is a performance by actual broadway actors in a real theatre
