The problem with Magyars excellent defense is how slow he is. You can't pray to run from a legend like Thea or Artemis while playing Magyar. What's the point of having high defense if you're just a walking target.
As a Magyar main, it basically taught me how to play without sigs. So much so I forget to use sigs for most units I play. Magyar's sigs are that bad lmao.
Hammer neutral sig is meant to be used after a stomp. If you position correctly, it's either one frame or true after the downlight at low and mid-range health.
Which is funny because with the kinda fighting games I play, I am surprised at the amount of crying I hear over one of the most balanced fighting games I have ever seen

I think that everyone who speaks ill of the magyar is because they never played with him at least until level 25 to be able to explore the character's potential I'm main Magyar and with him I managed to reach the diamond without major difficulties in fact some of his sigs are bad, but the side sig and the neutral sig of the greatsword are great to use and surprise the opponent in the middle of a string
