THIS is what I love. When a game that normally wouldn’t be on my radar suddenly gets added to my wishlist because of a great review. I’m not a hunter, I went and got an 8 point was I was about 14, but the sitting and waiting all day snd nothing happens just didn’t appeal to me. This game on the other hand seems pretty cool, and I’m going to have to check it out eventually. It sounds like a realistic sim, but not so realistic that you play for ten hours and never see anything (if you’re taking it seriously, and not just blasting “Fred Bear” while driving around the woods in your Willys Jeep). Great review ACG!
One thing he didn't mention is the game will have difficulty settings going from newbie to ultimate hunting sim. It changes the animal alertness levels, information it gives you on the animal etc and that sounds so much better because it would appeal to both newcomers and veteran hunters.
@@connorkenway09 he did say that it’s a game that requires you to get good at it. So I’m guessing no difficulty settings. But he also mentioned the hunters vision. Which I assume makes tracking easier. And is there if you require it. I’m going in a total newbie to all things hunting. So I’ll take whatever help the game offers to start with 😂
@@mclovinirishthere is difficulty settings. It's possible he didn't even find them if he never made it past the tutorial and clicked "choose territory". @@connorkenway09 yeah I got it at launch. Really enjoying it. Animals can get spooked super easily. I’m down wind, moving like a ninja (or so I think lol). Animals 250m away. Then they all call and run off. It’s a new level of challenge I’m enjoying getting to grips with.
Really excited about this. My ultimate dream hunting game--minus realistic hunting of dinosaurs and megafauna--would be a combination of The Hunter, Ultimate Fishing Simulator and Snow Runner.
@@connorkenway09 Absolutely. The rifle in Jurassic Park 2 would have drilled right through its skull. The rifles in Jurassic Park 3 were even bigger--Barret .50 bmg's. A .50 bmg--particularly an AP or a MK211 round--would shoot through its head and come out its ass. The Jurassic Park movies have LONG portrayed modern weaponry in a completely false light. The DLC should be a "public land hunt" where every time you open the map, it's procedurally generated and has a 1 in 20 chance of loading game with it. There will also be 5:1 npc hunters spawned within 2 miles of any road.
Like it. Can just walk for hours to unlock camps or cabins searching for diffrent need zones and just take in the digital nature. Don't care if I can't get a hunt going. Just love walk sim the game without it getting boring.

The issue you mention at 9:30, the loading stutters, seems to be a persistent issue with Unreal Engine games. The last game I heard that had similar issue was Kena: Bridge of Spirits. There are probably more games.
I'm liking what I see. I've never liked that caliber overkill system. You can take anything coyote size is the US with a .300 win mag if you wanted and just loose some rib meat with good shoot placement. And vice versa with good shot placement you can take most game with a .260.

All admit I was on steam looking at reviews on powerwash simulator as you mentioned it in your video lol
Imagine a DLC where you are hunting he extinct animals of past? Granted that would put you out of the experience but I saw a bird in this video and immediately thought "Dodo?"
I remember maneater having these problems with loading specifically on PlayStation 4 and 5. I don't know what it was like on PC but I kind of wonder if that's just an unreal issue
Does it have black powder firearms and does it have bullet cam? That would
Make it an instant buy.
New patch on console cleaned up every issue I had with the game. Fantastic job by the devs.
Eyyy, I’ve always been interested in the calm satisfaction of hunting, but I’m the type who get’s upset when he kills even a particularly big bug, so I’d love to check this out!
Great video, been looking at this so might pick it up at some point
Great review. Looks an awesome game. Never liked the idea of hunting games but this looks interesting.
Seeing the Recent MX legends game from THQ Nordic. I was really surprised to see this quality this game was.
As a long time player of call of the wild. This was truly how I wanted that game to turn out.
I want to personally thank you for this great review. I will pick up this game. Keep up the great reviews. I always enjoy them.
Awesome to hear this game together, I’ve gotten more and more excited about this as they’ve gotten closer to release. Was this the PC version exclusively or did you get a chance to test out a console version as well?
Negative
@@ACGreviews Fair enough, cheers and happy gaming!
Huh, never would have thought to look at a title like this. Honestly sounds really interesting.
I'll be looking into this title and genre more in the future.
Man this is exactly what i was looking for! Hunting games always had something lacking! Looks like this will be fun!
Been wanting to get into hunting game here lately. This review was what I needed. Thanks for the great review
Pre-Ordered it on PS5, looking forward to it. I’ve played Hunter Call of the Wild, and it’s a good romp, so excited for this too. I’ve been hunting all my life, and these are pretty realistic. Looking forward, thanks for the review!
The issue you mention at 9:30, the loading stutters, seems to be a persistent issue with Unreal Engine games. The last game I heard that had similar issue was Kena: Bridge of Spirits. There are probably more games.
Awesome review dude💪🏼
I'm liking what I see. I've never liked that caliber overkill system. You can take anything coyote size is the US with a .300 win mag if you wanted and just loose some rib meat with good shoot placement. And vice versa with good shot placement you can take most game with a .260.
I'm not a fan of these kind of games
and probably not going to get it.
But really awesome to see devs put a lot of love into the game.
that's awsome i don't need to buy a extra DLC $162 "looking at call of the wild" we out right get everythink for one price i'm sold :D awsome review
This review has me interested in hunting games for the first time - downloading Call of the Wild now on my series X, which may lead me to buying Way of the Hunter if it gels with me.
You’d make a great salesman btw :) Your enthusiasm is contagious.
