Dr Campbell, I have been watching your videos for around two weeks now after one popped up on my UA-cam suggested. I would like to thank you for all your efforts in bringing us up to date and relevant information. It's clear to see that you really care about this situation, and the people that it is affecting. I wish you and your family all the very best of health and I am certainly glad that I found your channel.

There's a north/south divide in California. Los Angeles residents in particular have been misbehaving. I've read that in SoCal, ICU beds have resorted to surge capacity, whereas 34% of ICU beds in NorCal remain available.

Dr. Campbell, my wife and I really appreciate your videos! It is so refreshing to have a data-focused approach. My wife is a nurse (so she explains medical terms and such that I don't understand :) ) and I am an engineer, so your medical, data-driven presentations are much appreciated! A comment regarding the variation in the number of vaccines per bottle. From my many years of manufacturing experience I suspect that variation is due to the inherent variability in any manufacturing process. Over time, no doubt this process will be "dialed in" and the number of vaccines per bottle will become much more consistent. Optimizing a process takes time and the priority was obviously on making the vaccine available, as it should be. Again, love your videos. Thanks!

Carly's testimony was very moving. I had a job where every day when I went to work I believed my life was in jeopardy. It was hard and I eventually resigned. I tried to stand up to it by will, but will breaks mind and body. Eventually, I concluded the better part of valor and common sense was that I needed to seek different employment in another field.

My only concern is what a pity that the UK Health Agencies cannot see the importance of giving Vitamin D in the correct dose or in giving Vitamin D in the other more rapid form for people in Hospital with Covic-19 when you think how many more lives it could save and when all the evidence is there if they were to look or to do their own studies.

The vax for Carly should stop her at least of getting a bad case of the disease. There is no data still regarding one not getting it to some degree and then transmitting it to others or how long it will be effective for. Let's be clear, this is still an emergency issued vaccine that's has been fast tracked.

      1) The vaccine does not stop you catching the virus
      2) The vaccine does not stop you spreading the virus
      3) You are meant to be self-isolating between the vaccine doses

The delay in the US was due to allow certain congress people diversify their stocks.
There are so many of them that made money. Especially those that bought stock in companies that make PPE stocks. Part of delay in new economic stimulus bill due to M McConnell refusing to sign unless there was provisions so people could not sue individuals or companies whos negligence used death or harm from COVID19. Just latching onto this given it needs attention. The person praising the vaccine at 19 minutes into this video has no idea that she still is not safe from the virus. The vaccine does not stop you catching or spreading the virus, you still need to wear the masks, you still need to distance and you should still not visit people outside your bubble. All of her fears are still in play - in fact she's arguably at a higher risk until she gets the second dose and is meant to be self-isolating for a month until she gets the second dose. Instead she's going to endanger herself and others because she's reacting emotionally out of fear rather than understanding the risks of having the vaccine.

As heartening as it was to hear Carly's experience, it appears that the US has yet to begin vaccinating the most vulnerable people - i.e. the elderly care home residents, who are more than one thousand times more likely to die from a covid infection than the average person, even a healthcare worker. I suspect the UK deathrate will begin to show a more rapid fall as a result of the vaccination of the elderly, who so far have made up THE MAJORITY of vaccinated people. There could not be a clearer indication of societal values. Gandhi once said "the true measure of any society can be found by the way it treats it's most vulnerable members", and by that measure, the US does not rate very highly. There appears to be almost a feeding frenzy amongst healthcare workers for the first doses.

I asked if he was having issues with the work and he just screamed "I hate distance learning, I hate stupid working on Ipads, I hate not being in school! I just want to be in school in my class! I hate stupid Covid! Why won't it just go away? "
He broke my heart. I gave him a big hug and just him cry. I wish more people could have something like this, if a dying loved one doesn't get to them, perhaps the frustration of a child who can't understand what's going on will, and get people to do the right thing.

I was in The Netherlands at the start of August...the temperaturs were in the 90s...I was talking to a Dutch chap around the hotel swimming pool...he told me he actually knew someone who had been to hospital with Covid...then he asked me...I told he I knew 5 people from where I worked who'd lost loved ones in hospital due to Covid...the youngest a nurse aged 29 that was on national news. I also told him he didn't nor his fellow countrymen and women what was about to come...he asked me what I was on about...I told him that when I was in Amsterdam central no one wore masks...it was like Amsterdam was a Covid free zone, stag and hen parties...the red light district from what I seen as I walked through was very busy...bars and restaurants very busy and around Amsterdamse Bos ( Massive forest next to Schiphol airport) was very busy with North Africans sitting in large groups. Dutch kids playing in paddle pools, teens gathered round in big groups...all swimming in one of the lakes that swimming was allowed. So I told him he didn't have a clue on what was about to happen in The Netherlands....Now he does. I arrived back into the UK on the Tuesday and by 4am on the Saturday anyone arriving from The Netherlands into the UK had to self isolate for 14 days. It doesn't surprise me one bit that The Netherlands have the most cases in Europe.

    • @And-rc9yy
      @And-rc9yy 4 роки тому

Yes and the sad thing is that we can be pretty sure almost nobody followed those 14 days isolation rules properly. I myself flew back from Switzerland around early September, there were people in the customs queue laughing and joking about it, many saying things to suggest they were not going to isolate for one moment. Personally I'd like to have seen stronger penalties, but I suspect the UK government have been very worried about civil disorder. I often wonder how people would react if Covid 19 had more open symptoms. If C-19 had symptoms like Ebola people would be barricading themselves in their homes. Perhaps there should be more on television to show people dying in Covid wards. We have horrible pictures on boxes of cigarettes, maybe we should use similar methods to warn people of Covid.

When the first Covid patient in New York City was diagnosed, he had traveled by subway to a hospital where he spend a significant amount of time in the emergency room waiting. The mayor of NYC held a press conference with a CDC "epidemiologist" who said that anybody suspecting to be infected should likewise take public transportation to visit their local hospital and masks, gloves, or even hygiene were not mentioned at all. Contact tracing was not on the agenda either and people were assured that this virus was not airborne and fomites were not a concern even though the Chinese experts were very vocal about the exact opposite. Hello Dr Campbell as a recent recovering survivor of Covid 19 I found all the info and updates very useful to understand what happened to me and people around the world, I'm a Chinese Latino from Panama and the situation here is delicate also, we are waiting for a Surge in the next 15 days because people want it to celebrate holidays with families hope things get better. Just for you to know I was treated with Remdesivir I consider that allow me to get better and shorten my time in Semi Intensive at hospital. We are in Lockdown in Christmas and New Year.

I understand why Carlie would be emotional & thankful for the vaccine. This has been a rough disease and it's about to get a lot rougher. We're going to have a really rough time soon. I hope the newer variants will create a strain that doesn't cause human illness, especially not an inflammatory response.
Prayers for you from California, Carlie, and to you too, Dr. Campbell!
Perhaps we can all pull together and root for each other worldwide. I think we do, yet the media seems it would like to have people at each other's throats. Unbelievable.

"Funny" thing is: IN THE FIRST HOURS OF the same day, I was reading NHS guidelines about covid -- about the stridor sound, G-od, I will do remember forever; according to the NHS from UK, people hearing such noise just dial 999.
If wasnt the medicine (drugs) knowledge (most of what I know is just memories from my dad; he passed away way before SARS CoV2...) probably my sister, alive and well (I hope meet Doctor John; it is hard to see post covid future of this life of mine in this sad country) if not infected (because BRAZILIAN NHS is very Brazilianistic...) with something really serious, my little Luiza was part of Brazilian biased statistics.

@@rogerstarkey5390 Yes he should wait till he builds up enough immunity but it appears that with the Pfizer vaccine, that would be on day 28 after the first vaccination, basically a week after the second vaccination so he should be good to go at the end of January not March 6. Keep in mind that the latent antibody immunity will fade in two to three months so by March he would actually have slightly less immunity than he would at the end of January.
