How would these stack up against the JBL PRX series? Just wondering since they're basically selling for the same price where I'm looking. Also JBL recently released the EON 600 series with the same feature set as the Alto Black series loudspeakers, how would those compare? I'm assuming the peak output on the JBL PRX would rival that of the Black however it is not listed, the continuous output of 1500 watts is the only thing stated. I'm currently deciding which one to buy and leaning towards Alto unless the PRX series is leaps and bounds better in sound quality, because it is missing the bluetooth functionality which may be useful for a one man setup.
To make it more clear I am choosing between Alto Professional Black series loudspeakers, and JBL PRX700 loudspeakers. I don't really think that the JBL EON 600 series has quite enough wattage as I desire, unless I can be proven otherwise.
the sl (entry level) Altos handily outperform the jbl eons which is in their class. From the reviews I have seen on these, they sound far more musical than any of the jbl speakers.
I had been wanting a pair of Alto Black speakers for a while. Because I don't have money to spare I was able to find a pair of used Black 12's for the price of one brand new 12. I was very excited and pulled the trigger. I owned a pair of Alto Ts215 1100 watts peak about 625 RMS and a pair of JBL EON 15's. 1000 watts peak about 500 RMS Both soumd great but would run out of umff at high volume after 2 or more hrs. This with running two 15 inch subs. By the way I am a mobile DJ . I purchased a pair of used JBL PRX710's becaue ther are 1500 watts peak, about 650 RMS. Great little speakers took alot to make them clip.but my gigs got bigger and the 10's were bot enough. I bought the Black 12' put them to the test out door at an outdoor school carnival on the football field. They did great. I put them next to QSC K12. The K12 was loude, kore low end but the horn was harsh. I liked the sound of the Alto Black more. I put the Alto Black up against the JBL PRX710 the PRX sounded dirty next to the Alto 10. This ia my nonprofessional experience woth these speakers. I am very happy with them. I would love to get a pair of Alto Black 10's and two Alto TS3 subs. To complete my spund system. Hope this helps.
@@dannyherrera5283 proud owner of Alto black 15s and not planning on upgrading anytime soon. It's a shame Alto stopped producing black series. What they needed is good PR with top DJs and event promoters. Other top brands use aggressive marketing but in terms of performance and build quality, I would say Alto Black I ll bury most range.
+Greg Zade Again it really depends on the instruments being used and the size of the band. You will need something fairly large to be heard over drums. I'm not talking about a concert sized PA system, but something a little larger would be needed than these speakers. It's a big more expensive up front but it pays off when it comes to sound quality. Some speakers I would recommend would be from EAW's KF-series. And more specifically, the KF650 speakers. If those are a bit too expensive, I would try looking for other 3-way speakers WITH a sub.
+SpaceMountainLarry That's disappointing! would of thought for a 4 piece rock cover band using 1200watt of continues power 15inch with 18inch subs front of house should more than do the job to cater for 200 to 300 people!
+Greg Zade Oh! I thought you were talking about like a festival gig with several thousand. If you only run vocals and guitar through the speakers, 1200w speakers should do a good enough job for 300 people. Sorry for the mixup
ok so thanks to this video i finally figured out how to listen to the music from my iphone trough the speaker! ... but only one of the speakers work .. wtf? i tried to use the bluetooth and than play music and no sound!!!! even tho it said they were connected can somebody help!? (excuse my english)
Did you ever find out what was up with them, Fidel, me ol mate? Also did you know your name is an anagram of "Solid Ferret"? ...Coincidence? I think not 🧐
So this is not a review. Its an overview. It just repeats all the info I can read about on the Alto website. Hardly what you'd actually call a review.
***** Exactly.

a great set it just needs a multi voltage switch
Could you get away with using a pair of 15inch speakers with no subs for a rock cover band?
+Greg Zade No. Definitely not. If it's a small band maybe, but once you add in drums, you will need something much bigger than two 15" speakers.
+SpaceMountainLarry what about for a cover band, 2*15 inch with subs? or what would u suggest?

How do these compare to the QSC K12.2 speakers?
DJ Vibe, DJ Services I haven't heard the k.2 and I myself have the black 15. In my opinion, they sound better than the qsc kw152.
HAS ANYONE MESHURED THE CONTINUOS POWER ? 1200W I CAN NOT BELIEVE?
