- In this talk with a period of meditation, Self-Realization Fellowship monk Brother Satyananda shares wisdom from Paramahansa Yogananda on how to cultivate an inner relationship with the Divine.
Brother Satyananda explains how our relationship with Spirit can reflect the same qualities as a healthy human relationship - such as trust, respect, and acceptance.
Each of us can relate to whatever concept of the Divine is familiar and comfortable, for the One who created us loves us all equally.
This talk was recorded at the SRF Lake Shrine Temple in Pacific Palisades, California, on March 6, 2022.

Interesting and very helpful perspective! Although I have been on this spiritual path for decades, probably longer than most in the congregation have been alive, there are very few instances when I have "felt" or been influenced by a Divine presence. It is said that Anandamoy Ma taught that God's seeming absence (to our awareness) is an illusion, for He can not be absent from His creation. My loyalty to God (and Master) is such that it is not conditional on consciously perceiving His blessed omnipresence. I (intuitively and through our Guru's teaching) know that He is with me whether I perceive Him or not, and that my lack of perception is due to some imperfection in MY relationship with Him (not the other way around!). As Master has said, each one has a unique romance with the Divine!

Jai Guru. During this satsang, Brother opens new doors for us to practice the presence in our thoughts by actively sharing them with God and being aware of his silent witnessing presence.
God touches our life in subtle ways through which we acknowledge His presence and Brother relates a beautiful experience in which he vividly describes how God is watching us and we are watching Him, connecting it with the verse from Bhagwad Gita.
Brother reminds us to remain focussed inside during this time of war which enables us to be a part of the solution and not the problem.🙏 Feel grateful to Guruji for comfort and understanding through these talks during challenging times.
