I don't get this version of the evil queen. Obviously, she's going to be concerned about her looks as per the demand of the narrative, but she has nothing to complain about! A readhead woman with the appearance of a twenty-something year old! The evil queen in Disney's snow white made more sense; an aging woman trying to stave off nature by heavy makeup, staying out of the sun, and even consorting with magic to keep her appearance. Only to become murderous when all attempts fail because it's not what's on the outside that matters it's who you are and how you treat other people. (which is also the reason why I don't bash on Snow White, a kind person can change history if given the chance!)
Yeah it's similar to the Handsome of Notre Dame which claims Quasimodo to be ugly, but even before he's made (more) handsome, he's top contender for Hollywood Homely.
Honestly, I wouldn’t call all the Disney dwarfs just one note personality characters. Grumpy especially, has a personality that’s more than just the meaning of his name, goes through some character development.
Have you seen FIlmation's sequel to Snow White called "Happily Ever After?" The Prince looks like Adam/He Man (or the two look like older recolored versions of the leads from Black Cauldron). The Seven Dwarfs have been replaced by their cousins, who are all female and control elements or something, it takes 10 minutes in a 75 minute movie to finally see Snow White and The Prince oh and Dom Deluise is the narrator/Magic Mirror
@BilboKoira I thought she kinda looked like the princess from Black Cauldron (just a bit older and darker hair) But the Prince is wearing Adams clothes

The best thing in this movie. The magic mirror. Seriously, he sounded so board constantly saying how beautiful the queen is. But when Snow White comes in, he absolutely revels in telling the queen that there's someone else more beautiful than her. He sounds like he's been waiting years to finally tell her off.

Still better than the original where the queen is her actual mother, and Snow White is 7... and the Prince just took her coffin everywhere he got and exposed her corpse... it’s a servant who saved her, by shacking her because the servant was tired of moving her around the castle for the prince, and that made her spit the apple piece

It’s probably the art and hair design, because the queen kinda looks like Yellow Diamond from Steven Universe. And these Goodtimes films seem to have a pseudo anime aesthetic to them at least some of them.

Well to help you out in the Snow White anime (yes it exists) the evil queen disguises the snake as a ribbon then tricks Snow into thinking it was a gift from the dwarves, which bites her once she puts it on. Snow White is "the most passive of Princesses", sorry to argue with you, Bob, but I think Sleeping Beauty is more passive than her. Snow White at least can command 7 Dwarves to do her bidding, Sleeping Beauty's entire character revolves around her being completely dependant on her Fairy caretakers, her Prince, and falling under a sleeping curse.
Very true, sleeping beauty herself doesn't really say much at all or anything of worth at least in her own movie. Its mainly a story made for Maleficent, the fairies & the prince at the end of the day. Hell, the story should have been solely about Maleficent like the live action film but with a totally different story because that one was a stinker. Something twisted & dark yet enticing & makes you wanna root for the villain without turning her into a victim in order to do so. I would have been happy with watching the same sleeping beauty story but solely from her eyes of it all. Every second you got with that character was leagues ahead of sleeping beauty & her prince singing in the woods. Let's be honest, even for us young girls who like disney romance movies sleeping beauty was a snooze fest literally with the exception of Maleficent
I wouldn't see Aurora as passive. It's not her fault that she was cursed, and she didn't know she was in hiding or in danger. She just wanted someone to find her and love her, which was a normal fantasy for that time. She didn't complain about much, was obedient and respectful of her aunts, and accepted her fate, because of that, she got want she wanted. She may not do much, in her own film but she did have a haunting voice.
@@JuicyfruitJessieB Yes, I hated the Maleficent movie, it felt like the result of the idea that all female protagonists *must* be good role models for little girls, and so she couldn't just be allowed to just be a villain who turns into an antihero, she *had to* be a victim of "the real villain" and every other character had to be butchered to fit that narrative and turned into an idiot to make Maleficent look better in comparision, and to add insult to injury they managed to make Aurora feel even more passive than her 1950's counterpart.

@@thing1thing2themediamaniac43 No, at one point the narrator says the Evil Queen taxes the people so she can buy her Lotions and Potions, it's more the way the narrator said it that's funny!
Glad that Disney told the story the way they did. It shows more character interaction as well as growth and development. Not to mention individually of each of the dwarfs.
YES!!! I'm SO happy that this got the most votes!! I LOVE Snow White! She is my second favorite Disney Princess, with Ariel being number 1 and Cinderella at number 3. When I was little, I didn't like Snow White all that much. But as I've gotten older, I've grown to love Snow White more and more. I mean, she's the first Disney movie and the first Disney Princess!! I mean, Snow White has to be one of the most responsible Disney Princesses ever! She's 14 years old and she knows how to cook, clean, and take care of not only herself, but 7 little men as well! How can you not admire her for that! I made a couple of images of Disney's Snow White on my deviantART about a year ago, and this one comment someone left really stuck with me: "You write: "Snow White has to be one of the most responsible Disney Princesses ever! " Actually, yes. There are a lot of people saying how "classical fairytale princesses" are all passive, can only wait for princes, got everything by magic, cannot be heroines for new generations, etc. But this only shows these people haven't much read fairytales. How long, for example, Cinderella worked and bore humiliations without complaining before she earned the help of the fairy? Snow White - she seems firstly only a victim, but really, after fleeing from the Queen she quickly found friends (dwarfs) and started new life with them without getting depressed! And I haven't yet mentioned such obviously heroic "princesses" like Beauty or Little Mermaid." Snow White is a princess/movie we should NEVER underestimate. Plus, she's the real snow princess for me! (Take that Elsa!)
Unfortunately, me and my class was forced by our teachers to watch this Disney rip-off in primary school one day when we were little kids. Trust me, I remember the movie by it’s high-ho competitor song.
I had this one and the Disney version in my childhood. Same with Cinderella. My young self thought the Good Times movies were pretty good until I grew up.
8:37 The queen’s evil laugh reminds me of Laverna from Barbie Fairytopia. And after looking up the voice actress for both characters, it turns out to be the same person, Kathleen Barr. I thought that evil laugh was familiar.
Hey, do you mean to tell me that in no version of Snow White ever put to film, no one has thought to just send her to a neighboring kingdom? Stepmother can't stand anyone taking her place a the most beautiful woman in the kingdom, so just send Snow to a different kingdom. Problem solved.
I used to have this on VHS, I think. Grandma got it from a charity shop - I used to find it entertaining enough, though of course I was quite little at the time. Was nice to see you review it!
Honestly you aint missing much, I always thought the movie itself was a beautiful cartoon & had a lot of uniqueness to the colors & scenery/character design but the story itself is real bland & snow white herself is almost unbearable
Thomas B. Munchausen The only good thing about Disney’s Snow White is the history/movie history behind it. Even as a kid when I watched it, I was bored by it.
@@gallibon1319 The cast: Susan Sciff, Raquel Shane, Scott Swanson, Venus Terzo (Snow White), Tony Ail, Kathleen Barr (Evil Queen), Garry Chalk, Lillian Carlson, Nate Aswell, Chera Bailey, Michael Donovan, Phil Hayes (Cricket), Kent Gallie, Roger Kelly, Ellen Kennedy, Terry Klassen (Tadpole), Joanne Lee, Andrea Libman, Tom McBeath, Scott McNeil (Fawn), Lois McClean, Jesse Moss, Doug Newell, Richard Newman, Crystal O'Bray, Doug Parker (Hedgehog), Gerard Plunkett, Ian James Corlett (Sunbeam), Stevie Vallance, Wanda Wilkinson and Dale Wilson.
Bobsheaux, keep on doing these awesome reviews. Plus, it’s funny how Girl Power Week, has only one strong female lead as of right now, and it’s a Disney/Pixar film at that!
Great review, as always!! This almost reminds me of Saban’s My Favorite Fairy Tales...especially the Apple piece falling out of Snow White’s mouth (and the generic, identical design of the dwarves)
4:05 - 4:10 "No, my friends. No one with a face like hers could be a witch or a gnome." The protagonist of the obscure video game Magical Doropie proves that one wrong.
"What do you expect? She lived out in the backyard with her dog her entire life." (waits for that one "ACTUALLY" person in every comment section to point out she was holding a cat XD)
You know I think this is why it was god that Disney cut out the first two assassination attempts on Snow White, because it makes her look stupid if she fell for all three of them. And even funnier that originally all three attempts were going to be in the movie, but due to budget cuts they had to size it down to just the apple. I say it's one of the best changes that Disney did storywise. As we see in this movie, just because a story is similar to the original doesn't mean it's going to be good. If that were true, then Jaws and the Godfather would have kept their needless subplots from the books. It's also interesting to see they kept the part of her spitting out the poison apple, while the prince tried to take her body. As I say before, thank you Disney that you made this during the Depression or we wouldn't have gotten the story we are familiar with.
I have wondered whether or not Snow White's beauty is a curse or unwanted superpower. She seems to win favour with everyone she meets. They just fall in love with her on sight. But it's how people respond to it she can't control. The Wicked Queen wants to get rid of her because Snow White is too influential and a political threat. And the Prince is an obsessive creeper who won't even accept being dead as a reason to give up.
I think I have this company's version of A Christmas Carol. I recognize that opening anywhere. The movie itself is alright, although the characters (Scrooge specifically) running away from the camera looks a bit weird, and there's one scene where it looks like Scrooge and the Ghost of Christmas Past are flying backwards. Also, the animation itself kinda gives off an Anime vibe. Also, why wasn't the queen screaming as she was being pulled into the mirror? She was clearly trying to escape, and some screams would help with the tone (not to mention making the scene look a lot less awkward).
This at least follows the book more accurately then the Disney version sans the queen's death via hot metal shoes where the prince forced the queen to dance to her death
14:36 I might be nitpicking here, but does anyone notice the witch gave her a normal red apple, instead of the red dark looking apple which looks likes its been poisoned? This always bothered me, even when I saw this when I was younger. Perhaps that may be color error?
16:11-16:16 In the original story, as the Prince’s servants were carrying Snow White’s coffin, one of them stumbled, and they dropped the coffin, which is how the apple got dislodged from Snow Whites throat. Here, there’s no way that just lifting her body would have caused the apple to get out of her throat.
Did she interact with the animals at all? Not much of the scenes showed that in this review. If they didn't at least show that in the "movie" than Snow White she ain't.
I actually remember having this film and watching it while I was younger and realising. "HOLD ON! The dwarves have different names than the Disney ones."
This movie has a lot of voice actors I like. Venus Terzo (Ranma from Ranma 1/2 and Lana from Captain N) as Snow White Kathleen Barr (Kevin and Marie from Ed Edd n Eddy and Trixie and Queen Chrysalis from MLP:FIM) as the Queen Michael Donovan (Suikotsu from InuYasha and Eggplant Wizard from Captain N) as the Prince Ian James Corlett (original voice of Goku) as Sunbeam Scott McNeil (Wolverine from X-Men Evolution) as Fawn Philip Hayes (Scratch from The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog) as Cricket Terry Klassen (voice director for Ed Edd n Eddy and MLP:FIM/voice of Eddy's brother from Ed Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show) as Tadpole Andrea Libman (Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy from MLP:FIM) as the little girl
There's a really good web comic called Mage & Demon Queen. It's about a mage girl who's hopelessly in love with the demon queen. It takes place in an RPG-type world where you can be revived from dying by paying some gold. I guess this movie takes place in MADQ world.
Prince: "You're all I ever wanted. You're beautiful!"
Snow White: "And what else?"
Prince: "What else?...What else is there?"

Bob, There's two things that would make us fan really happy. 1.) You and Phelous doing a review together and 2.) Phelous voicing Old Man If you ever review the Good Times version of Beauty and the Beast. By the way, I'm a huge fan of yours
This ahem "Movie * is pretty hilarious! "Lotions and Potions" I mean come on!
@@thing1thing2themediamaniac43 No, at one point the narrator says the Evil Queen taxes the people so she can buy her Lotions and Potions, it's more the way the narrator said it that's funny!
21:14 Bobsheaux says: "DEAD IS DEAD!' I say: LIFE IS LIFE! NA NAAA NA NA NAAA!🤘😎🤘
Hmmm hmm hmm hahahaha you think your clever?!?
Well you are actually ^^ thats pretty cute i like it dont quite it hope i dont come off as an asshole
I made a couple of images of Disney's Snow White on my deviantART about a year ago, and this one comment someone left really stuck with me:
"You write: "Snow White has to be one of the most responsible Disney Princesses ever! "
Actually, yes. And I haven't yet mentioned such obviously heroic "princesses" like Beauty or Little Mermaid."
Snow White is a princess/movie we should NEVER underestimate. Plus, she's the real snow princess for me! (Take that Elsa!)
DisneyDork4EVA Snow White gets a bad rap. Her, Cinderella and Aurora.
YAS!! Thank you!!
Agree i too like snow white, mulan belle and the others get way too much praise.
A Good Times Entertainment Movie huh?
Most of the seven dwarves are sooooo stuuuupiiiiid heh heh heh...
Phelous: Wabuuuuu!
A Good Times Entertainment Movie? That means I was expected! And completely useless! Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
@@PlanetZoidstar Its all wet. It's completely useless.
I so want to see a co-op between Phelan and Bob. I think Korean Tron would be a suitable movie for that review.
If we get this then we are expectet. HEEEEEE-HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Unfortunately, me and my class was forced by our teachers to watch this Disney rip-off in primary school one day when we were little kids. Trust me, I remember the movie by it’s high-ho competitor song.
To be fair, we don't know what the prince's name is in the Disney version of Snow White either.
Eh true🤷♀️
How did the original end? Snow White makes the Queen dance around in hot iron shoes until dead.
Yep! That's the hardcore original ending! You ain't gonna see that in no movie these days! XD
Okay, the Snow White I grew up with was the Golden Films one. My mom thought it was better for a 6 year old to watch than the Disney one. Wired lol

Bobsheaux and Phelous strikes again.
Hey, do you mean to tell me that in no version of Snow White ever put to film, no one has thought to just send her to a neighboring kingdom? Stepmother can't stand anyone taking her place a the most beautiful woman in the kingdom, so just send Snow to a different kingdom. Problem solved.
Oh God. Goodtimes. The nightmare will never end.
I used to have this on VHS, I think. Grandma got it from a charity shop - I used to find it entertaining enough, though of course I was quite little at the time. Was nice to see you review it!
"Take that knife of yours and gut her like a fish!!!"
Everyone screaming at the screen...
Bob, your sense of humor is continuously perfect. Thank you so much for your reviews.
Confession Time: I have never seen the Disney version of Snow White
It's ok. Go watch it if you want.
It's a good movie but not the best Disney movie.
It's slow and simple by modern standards, but not a bad movie at all.
I know that I made this comment before, but it works here...
[insert Phelous quote here]
[Well, fuck my donkey]
I liked your choice for ending credits of this video. It's one of my favorite moments in Disney's "Snow White."

also the Arthur Vining Davis Foundation is involved
Do you even notice that one of the dwarves is voiced by Ian James Corlett? And, apparently, Snow White is voiced by Venus Terzo.
Cheetor and Blackarachnia were in this movie? Wow.

Bobsheaux reviewed a good times movie
Do a collab. today
Something something break
I'd love to see them collaborate
Tadpole is the Alternate version of Grumpy!
2x reviews in a week!. Oh Bobsheaux, I do love you 💛
This channel honestly needs more subs of how great these reviews are.
When it comes to ripoff, Jetlags aren't actually actually that bad. It looks amazing compared to other ripoffs
Jetlags? As in Jetlag Entertainment?

And all the necromancers collectively groan as, once again, their magic is ignored in a world where magic exists.

15:47 instead of a dark lord you would have a QUEEN!
I’ll show myself out.

"No, my friends. No one with a face like hers could be a witch or a gnome."
The protagonist of the obscure video game Magical Doropie proves that one wrong.
I want you to review Dingo Pictures Movies. Wabuu, terrible voice dubbing and animation and memes galore.

(waits for that one "ACTUALLY" person in every comment section to point out she was holding a cat XD)
"She means a LOT to them...... Who else is gonna sweep their grass?" lol
Why didn't the director tell the animators to just change it to a rake?!
Phelous reviewed this film with his finest abnormal voice, i really like his voice for some reason..oh well-_-
17:55 What a twist! The mirror was the badass hero the whole time.
He wasn't the hero the movie deserved, but he was the hero that it needed. ^^
I agree with you, especially since I always love Disney's Snow White when I was little (hell she's and always will be my favorite princess)
Phelous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's even worse in the original story where she's closer to 10-years old. ^^
Ho Hi! Ho Hi! It's time to say goodbye! If Disney sues, we'll play fair use! Ho Hi! Ho Hi, Ho Hi, Ho Hi!🍎👸
This was a glorious review, fun and funny! I always know I’m in for a GOODTIME whenever I watch your videos!
...sorry, I’ll just see myself out.
14:36 I might be nitpicking here, but does anyone notice the witch gave her a normal red apple, instead of the red dark looking apple which looks likes its been poisoned? This always bothered me, even when I saw this when I was younger. Perhaps that may be color error?
So good to hear Silly Song! It always makes me smile
You know it’s bad when the Prince’s SERVANTS thinks he’s weird for wanting to marry the woman he just met.
Thanks for reviewing this! What a great way to end Girl Power month! Love your reviews!
18:42
You mean people weren't sticking to the Disney version already?
16:11-16:16 In the original story, as the Prince’s servants were carrying Snow White’s coffin, one of them stumbled, and they dropped the coffin, which is how the apple got dislodged from Snow Whites throat. Here, there’s no way that just lifting her body would have caused the apple to get out of her throat.
Seeing this reminds me. I know I once saw a version of Snow White where all the dwarves were named Joe
I love your movie reviews. Would it be possible in the foreseeable future for you and Raven to do a behind the scenes special?
Oh my gosh I grew up with this version when I was little
Did she interact with the animals at all? Not much of the scenes showed that in this review. If they didn't at least show that in the "movie" than Snow White she ain't.
6:35 Snow White Privilege.
I actually remember having this film and watching it while I was younger and realising.
"HOLD ON! The dwarves have different names than the Disney ones."
This movie has a lot of voice actors I like.
Venus Terzo (Ranma from Ranma 1/2 and Lana from Captain N) as Snow White
Kathleen Barr (Kevin and Marie from Ed Edd n Eddy and Trixie and Queen Chrysalis from MLP:FIM) as the Queen
Michael Donovan (Suikotsu from InuYasha and Eggplant Wizard from Captain N) as the Prince
Ian James Corlett (original voice of Goku) as Sunbeam
Scott McNeil (Wolverine from X-Men Evolution) as Fawn
Philip Hayes (Scratch from The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog) as Cricket
Terry Klassen (voice director for Ed Edd n Eddy and MLP:FIM/voice of Eddy's brother from Ed Edd n Eddy's Big Picture Show) as Tadpole
Andrea Libman (Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy from MLP:FIM) as the little girl
That prince gives me “well excuse me princess” vibes....
Can you make a review their version of Cinderella ?
There's a really good web comic called Mage & Demon Queen. It's about a mage girl who's hopelessly in love with the demon queen. It takes place in an RPG-type world where you can be revived from dying by paying some gold. I guess this movie takes place in MADQ world.
