death has probably the most strongest discography ever... Chuck was a genius in every way, and my favorite album of all time is Symbolic which is ridiculous how good it is!
My best friend growing up died when we were 19 (I’m 40 now) and Death was one of the first bands that started us on the path to underground music (punk and metal mostly) Spiritual Healing was the first we heard, then Scream Bloody Gore and Human. Human was Jody’s favorite, so it’ll always be mine.

Gonna have to disagree with you guys here on one point, calling their early stuff proto-death metal, the formula for creating the genre really started on Slayer's darkest and most progressive album Hell Awaits. It set a place for building the bridge from Thrash to Death. The bridge was Possessed 7 Churches, and the cornerstone Pleasure To Kill by Kreator. Scream Bloody Gore was the finalization of Death Metal. Then Morbid Angel started adding blast beats on Altars Of Madness. But the 4 albums that really started everything wats Hell Awaits, 7 Churches, Pleasure To Kill, and Scream Bloody Gore. But the video is great. And I respect all your points and views. I enjoyed watching this.
@@forgemastermetal you're welcome. I just wanted to add that I am not saying you guys are wrong in any way. I'm just saying I see it from a different perspective, and I can respect and appreciate yours even if I somewhat disagree.

Probably the hardest metal discography to rank for me, here goes... 7. Scream Bloody Gore 6. Leprosy 5. The Sound of Perseverance 4. Human 3. Symbolic 2. Individual Thought Patterns 1. Spiritual Healing
@@forgemastermetal Human was the first album I heard only 4 or 5 years ago but Spiritual Healing made me fall in love with the band shortly after and now they are likely in my top 5 bands ever.
@@forgemastermetal Also, I find it to be the perfect transition album between the rawer early albums and the much more technical ones after this. The technicality started creeping into the solos much more instead of the whammy fest ones on the first Two albums but the overall sound was still kept closer to those albums but the lyrical themes started veering towards more serious topics.
Baptized in Blood is definitely a standout track on the debut. And Leprosy is every bit as classic and timeless as Peace Sells, Ride the Lightning, Reign in Blood, Among the Living and so on.

Copying my own comment from other Death ranking vids (with 1-10 ratings): 1 Symbolic (best album I've ever heard, and still my favourite of all time. Lyrics, Drums, Riffs, Melodies, Solos.. The only flawless 10/10 I know of). -From the iconic opening riff on Symbolic to Without Judgement's middle section and Perennial's beautiful outro, I love every second. 2 Human (The most intense album with great mix of riffs and melodies. 9.9/10). -every track could be a highlight.. but See Through Dreams, Vacant Planets and Secret Face are seriously underrated (and my favourites)!!! 3 TSOP (A little long, but it has THE best melodies.. and the Painkiller cover is one of the few I accept, although A Moment of Clarity was a perfect closer. 9.7/10). -From the complex Scavenger of Human Sorrow to the beautiful, emotional Story to Tell, every song could be a highlight.. 4 Leprosy (Perfect lenght and it has the hardest riffs, vocals and Rick's frantic whammy solos fit. The best pure Death Metal record. 9.3/10) -Pull the Plug, Open Casket, Leprosy, Born Dead and Left To Die are my favourites. 5 Individual T. Patterns (The most technical album with the best bass performance, but it has three "o.k."/ slightly sub-par songs imo.. 9.2/10). -Trapped In A Corner, Jealousy, Overactive Imagination, Philosopher and Mentally Blind are my favourites. 6 Spiritual Healing (The worst production imo, the drums are so flat.. The riffs, shredding and UNDERRATED melodies rule, though. 9.0/10). -Within the Mind, Genetic Reconstruction, Defensive Personalities, Title Track and Altering the Future are my favourites. 7 Scream Bloody Gore (The 2nd "worst" production, but it's still a punch to the throat! Awesome piece of history, but is mostly riff-riff-riff. 8.9/10). -Evil Dead, Sacrificial, Zombie Ritual, Baptized In Blood and Torn To Pieces are my favourites. I really enjoyed your discussion.
