Great video Kate. Y Garn is a personal favourite of mine, a great hike but like most mountains the conditions can change drastically! On a sunnier day you should carry on down the other side of the summit, basically looping round Llyn Ogwen, it's breathtaking scenery. Also, at 3:17 on this video if you cross over that stream, climb over the wall and head over the road you can drop down underneath the road and you'll find an old Roman bridge which is still standing. A little hidden gem in that area.
Thank you so much! Yes it is such a beautiful mountain isn't it and this route is so simple yet so stunning! Ah that bridge sounds so interesting, I'll definitely have to explore that next time, thank you so much for sharing this!
Whiteout is challenging for the mind as much as trying to figure out where you are going and not about to step off a precipice! As you commented, you both had good gear. Wearing layers and having good quality wet weather gear is vital. I’m enjoyed your video from this weekend so I am going back in time to see some of your earlier footage. Cheers, Paul
7:57 got me good. Incredible how quickly that weather changed, however, looked like an amazing achievement hiking that route. Great video, Kate. Thoroughly enjoyed. Can't wait to tackle some mountains this year, something I'd never have even considered without yours as well as others Instagram and UA-cam content. Looking forward to more of these, well done Kate.
Hahahaha, all the fell runners have gone very quiet since I uploaded this video ... ah it was an amazing hike, really enjoyed it! Thank you so much Matt, really appreciate it! So so glad you're inspired by the adventure community and I can't wait to see what you get up to, I'm sure you'll smash it! Thanks again!
Thank you so much Sam! So glad you liked it. Yes it's crazy isn't it, I'm so happy to be building up the experience so I can handle more conditions like this! Excited for us all to be able to get back out there adventuring and can't wait to make more videos!
Well done Kate - can't believe how much the weather changed there - its scary isn't it? Well done for keeping calm and working out yr route. Watching this for second time as thinking of doing same route but carry on to devils kitchen or y gribin and then down. Looks a great route..Stay safe.
Thank you so much! It's such a nice hike, very simple route but definitely a mountain that is victim to quick cloud cover, I've done it twice now and both time the cloud has rolled over very quickly. Make sure to chose a nice day with little wind, you'll enjoy it so much!
Thank you so much! Yes, its mad but it's what makes it so exciting and challenging too, just have to be prepared! Ah that sounds so perfect, hope you enjoy it and get everything out of it that you want!
Ahhh thank you so much! I'm really missing the scramble up Tryfan, even though I've done it a couple of times now, I'm definitely ready to send it again!
Ahhh that sounds so perfect! I did that route but in reverse over the winter time, so much snow and again another white out but it was a fab adventure! :)
@@kateamandaexplores A fab adventure for u indeed! I imagine crampons were needed I fancy Glyder Fawr via Llyn Y Cŵn and then circling round back to the Ogwen cottage start. Better views than the gym anywho!

Hi, great video but where did you park ?
Great vlog 🤟 it's crazy how fast it changes isn't it! I've booked myself onto a nav course as I'm too reliant on my phone 😂

It is a pleasure to watch Your videos. Which mountain next?
Ahhh thank you so much! I'm really missing the scramble up Tryfan, even though I've done it a couple of times now, I'm definitely ready to send it again!
I did the Devils Kitchen ascent first and the trek up to Y Garn and descended from there. A good circular route.
