I just found volbeat a couple of weeks ago while surfin in UA-cam and couldn't believe this guys exist for so many years and I never listened to them. I think they are the best band I've heard in many years and I just can't understand how I managed to live without them until now!
Because the radio stations dropped the ball on Volbeat. They were putting out great music since 2001 and I heard my first Volbeat song in 2013, instantly became a fan and bought every album on Amazon. 8 years later, they are still over 50 % of the music I listen to in my truck. Over everyone else combined
I stumbled across them about 5 years ago and have barely played anything else since...seen them live a couple of times as well and they are absolutely top class
As opposed to, of course, bands whose recordings sound like they were done in a garage with a children’s Casio recorder and a mic they forgot to turn on….you know the type: 8th grade pep assembly battle of the bands -like performance. For me, lyrics are key so I appreciate Volbeat’s sound quality. *an exception will always be songs put out by bands like Bloodbath, Cryptopsy and Cannibal Corpse-the best sound quality possible won’t change the fact that you’ll need a printout of the lyrics to decipher them.

He's got the deepest sounding high-range vocal I've ever heard. There are a lot of singers who go higher than him, but not singers that sing up there with that much depth to their voice, he manages to not thin out as he goes up. Very unique sound.

Personally, I don’t think Volbeat have ever made a bad album. They’re able to pull off anything, and the fact they’re willing to explore new territories of music is amazing for me. Not a lot of bands can do that… and I think they deserve so much more credit for it! People should embrace it more. Such a diverse band and I’m so proud to be a fan 👏🏼

Finally! I've been missing the old style of Volbeat, combining rock'n'roll and heavy metal, does my patience actually pay off? Michael could've sang the song a bit lower throughout, but this is definitely the right path after those lighter albums.

I still think it was from singing so high because the new guy couldn't write anything in D Standard lol Glad to see he has grown and the music is back where it should be - drop tuned and heavy again.
I can now say after listening to all of it, this is my favorite Volbeat album. So many early 80's Metallica and thrash metal vibes with the riffs, the vocals are incredible as always. This one is gonna be on my turntable for quite some time.
