I just buy second hand if i can and if i buy something not organic / fast fashion i make sure to wear it as long and often as possible. I have not the money or time (sry) to do hours of searching for one piece of clothing and many organic / sustainable brands are from overseas and the risk of ordering expensive clothes and then them not fitting is just a hassle. I rather am a bit sustainable than not at all.

Depends if you want to chose comfort or environmentally sustainability. Organic cotton is better for the planet, bamboo viscose is tremendously more comfortable.. and the polyester leaches plasicides into your skin, so just throw all that shit away...

Honestly, i am at a point were i try second hand shopping, then organic materials and if nothing helps, buying a piece of clothing from fast fashion. I am tired of doing constant research on everything i want to buy and i just do the best i can. I will not order from overseas from sustainable companies and risk the item getting lost or the clothing not fitting well and having a hard time getting my money back. I sadly got scammed a few times by eco friendly companies and i rather buy clothing i can try on before buying.

I get what you mean, having mixed polyester clothing always bring those floating tiny Thread on air. which visible near window or bright flashlight.. well this one surely gets in our lung sometime.. these day for 100% cotton “the sustainable” brand still exist. now it is now considered as “luxury” item, because it’s cost more than average clothing, but still widely available. Actually most people did not take a proper notice because of the price itself. Since i did not wanted to sponsor a brand, Next time when in the mall see the sticker closely, i guarantee you it’s always there, unnoticed (oh, one more thing.. time change, it’s not on your usual thrift store anymore, since it doesn’t sells well there, go to branded one)

How about the bamboo clothing made of bamboo linen (i.e. via the mechanical + natural enzyme process)?
Thanks for this video and the information / diagram of the chemical / boiling process they use to make bamboo into fibers. Very eye opening and tells us the entire environmental impact of the products we purchase. For me being bamboo clothing, sheets, and towels because bamboo requires less water then cotton to grow. But now I am wondering if in the final product / growth and process duration if that is still true? Now going to go watch your other video on this subject.

I thought I would share this piece of info : fibers made from natural materials (such as cotton, bamboo, wood etc) but transformed through a process, most often involving chemicals, which changes the "nature" of the fiber (which I'm guedsing you meant by saying "It is not bamboo anymore") can be referred to as "artificial fibers". Viscose, for example, falls into this category. This term clarifies the distinction between this type of fibers and synthetic fibers, which are polymers (molecules modified by humans) derived from fossile matter such as petroleum and can therefore be considered "plastic". Synthetic fibers do release microplastics, while artificial fibers don't (to my knowledge), though they probably do release some of the chemicals used for their making... Sodium hydroxide and lye are also used to convert fats into soaps. Most Castile soaps and other "natural soaps" utilize one of these in the manufacturing process, so... Y'know, it's complicated and multifaceted 🤷🏼
Hi, I’m kinda new to the whole low or zero waste concept. It’s really harder than switching to cleaner beauty and body products. I am having difficulties locating eco friendly medicine containers. I would have to bring it along with me in my purse so it can’t be too big. Would you know any brands that might carry eco friendly medicine box or case. I would need something with many slots because I take medicine a couple times a day and the slots has to fits about 20 or more pills in each one. I've been researching fabric for an upstart brand and have come into much of this information about bamboo, myself. To me, what is most important is the people. The chemicals used in a lot of these solvents are known to cause cancer among a myriad of other diseases. Some of these chemicals do not need much exposure to cause a great deal of damage. Unfortunately, minus a few select spaces, it seems on a broader scale, that the workers are the last to really ever get notice, still behind the environment and the plants and animals. There are so many certifications and safeguards to find in recent times that have good focus on the environment, of which I am deeply grateful. I just wish even more emphasis would be placed on the people whose lives are impacted by toxic practices, as well. It is appalling how little oversight China's production/manufacturing in textiles truly has, yet, so many businesses continue to work with them regardless. It's disheartening how inhumane our world an be in the face of profit. I'm grateful that you are choosing to educate others on this topic, its sorely needed. Thank you!
I bought a sport bra and leggings made from bamboo viscose about a year ago. I don't recommend them. They do not last well even though I never put them in a dryer. The bra has nylon fibers sticking out of it that are ugly and scratchy. I won't buy bamboo material again, and this video just reinforces reasons to not buy it.
There are somethings I have to use disposable versions of (I know that’s bad but I don’t have a choice) so I was wondering. DISPOSABLE: bamboo or plastic? Which one is better? (Obviously not clothing but yeah)

Absolutely love bamboo clothes. In the past year I have swapped over 75% of my wardrobe to bamboo. No idea about the environmental impact to be honest. I am buying it because it feels lovely against my psoriasis and itchy prone skin.
It's more than an environmental impact. The way that the stuff is processed makes it very bad to wear as it's full of chemicals that actually make your skin issues never go away.

(It's a bit long, but plz help me, haha :ii) Here we go: 1) The question: For quite a few years I haven't been buying any new clothes (only thrifting), which has been working just fine, but as it is now most of my underwear, socks and basics are falling apart. What would be the best thing to do here/which brand would be the most ethical and affordable to buy from? 2) The dilemma: I'm living on quite a strict budget so I can't afford buying much clothes (that be second hand or new), but as mentioned above a lot of my stuff has reached the end of their lives. My sister works for Bestseller (a massive danish fast fashion brand) and she has the opportunity to buy samples very cheaply/get them for free. According to my sister, these samples will never be sold in the shops and are just being discarded if not bought by the employees. She has offered me to buy a lot of new clothing for me, which I really appreciate but I'm not sure whether to accept the offer or not. Because I (for obvious reasons) really can't vouch for Bestseller, and I'm not quite sure whethter I'm indirectly supporting them by accepting my sisters offer. What to do??? Your videos are outstanding! I think you could grow your audience quite substantially when you "fix" your audio. Audio is the most important thing in an UA-cam video and it becomes quite hard to listen to your audio after some time. Do you record with a smartphone? There are good microphone solutions also for this. Hope you get this fixed. But I'll continue to watch anyway.
bamboo is better off being used than using things like poplin and other polyester. poplin, which is anywhere from 50% polyester and 50 cotton to 90% polyester and 10% cotton does not breath, it does not break down, polyester is plastic and is no sustainable. elastic in underwear, shirts and lace is more likely to break down before polyester does. bamboo fabric and fiber does break down, it's breathable it's also fast growing. tye production has minimal waste as its cut and boiled in a solution which is eco graded by governments. I do a lot of sewing and I have bamboo linen which is incredibly soft and even warm in winter despite it being breathable as well and I can honestly say, it's durable, I will never go go back to poplin for sewing a dress liner. in Africa there are people who process the string like fibers into threads and make mats and other things. in all honesty though, there is nothing that is perfectly eco friendly.
When stating that it is chemical free, I believe that it is not talking about pesticides. Chemicals are used in other clothing such as dry fit to make the clothing have special qualities. During the manufacturing process, bamboo does not need the synthetic chemicals to give it any sort of property. Again, where are you pulling your information from?

I tend to reserve recycled polyester for sports/outdoor clothes. This way I get years of use out of them while limiting use of plastic fabrics.

Virtually all clothing is sewn and serged with polyester thread. I haven't seen a factory made garment sewn with cotton thread in years.

Yes i made soap myself and the process can be really dangerous in fumes and the risk of burning yourself with lye.

(It's a bit long, but plz help me, haha :ii)
Here we go:
1) The question: For quite a few years I haven't been buying any new clothes (only thrifting), which has been working just fine, but as it is now most of my underwear, socks and basics are falling apart. What would be the best thing to do here/which brand would be the most ethical and affordable to buy from?
2) The dilemma: I'm living on quite a strict budget so I can't afford buying much clothes (that be second hand or new), but as mentioned above a lot of my stuff has reached the end of their lives. My sister works for Bestseller (a massive danish fast fashion brand) and she has the opportunity to buy samples very cheaply/get them for free. According to my sister, these samples will never be sold in the shops and are just being discarded if not bought by the employees. She has offered me to buy a lot of new clothing for me, which I really appreciate but I'm not sure whether to accept the offer or not. Because I (for obvious reasons) really can't vouch for Bestseller, and I'm not quite sure whethter I'm indirectly supporting them by accepting my sisters offer.
What to do??? Please help a woman in need!!! :OO ;))
if you search you'll find that synthetic fibers made out of wood or bamboo has less bacterial growth than cotton and its comparable to linen.

Your videos are outstanding! I think you could grow your audience quite substantially when you "fix" your audio. Audio is the most important thing in an UA-cam video and it becomes quite hard to listen to your audio after some time. Do you record with a smartphone? There are good microphone solutions also for this.
Hope you get this fixed. But I'll continue to watch anyway.

bamboo is better off being used than using things like poplin and other polyester.
poplin, which is anywhere from 50% polyester and 50 cotton to 90% polyester and 10% cotton does not breath, it does not break down, polyester is plastic and is no sustainable.
elastic in underwear, shirts and lace is more likely to break down before polyester does.
bamboo fabric and fiber does break down, it's breathable it's also fast growing.
tye production has minimal waste as its cut and boiled in a solution which is eco graded by governments.
I do a lot of sewing and I have bamboo linen which is incredibly soft and even warm in winter despite it being breathable as well and I can honestly say, it's durable, I will never go go back to poplin for sewing a dress liner.
in Africa there are people who process the string like fibers into threads and make mats and other things.
in all honesty though, there is nothing that is perfectly eco friendly.
What even is the most eco friendly fabric?
Organic linen and organic hemp are good options there, recycled cotton as well 🌿 (and Tencel is up there as well)

When stating that it is chemical free, I believe that it is not talking about pesticides. Chemicals are used in other clothing such as dry fit to make the clothing have special qualities. During the manufacturing process, bamboo does not need the synthetic chemicals to give it any sort of property. Again, where are you pulling your information from?
The UV resistance part reminds me of things like "gluten free milk." Well, duh.
