Wonder if there ever will be an 'overly closely observing PC's' episode. You know, players that get really close up just to observe character models and such. Could make Greg a bit uncomfortable. Though not as uncomfortable as the vague feeling of a third-person camera clipping into your skull just so a player can look at your floating eyeballs and mouth cavity. Or get scared because the outside texture is mapped onto the inside of the skin as well, meaning they'd still be looking Greg in the face.

Everyone knows that once he reaches level 50, he’d be able to make a sword 10x better than the quest sword. Gaming logic.
And the quest is a level 30 quest
And you also can’t use it anywhere but the very specific, very small quest location *stares angrily at many of the legendaries in WOW from back when I played*
Or better yet it's not even a real sword, merely a quest item that you carry in your inventory. You still have to "weaken" the dragon with your normal gear, just the final blow is done with the quest item. It's not better than a mop to anything else.

Better yet, the final blow is an in-game cinematic with a sword spirit. Not a real cinematic, but in game. Big purple fart rises from the sword, speaking in banjo-mario enemy voices, while making you read dialogue.

The real pain is when you spend 2 hours running a long quest to acquire a legendary sword, and 30 minutes later you kill a random mob in a higher level area that drops a crowbar with better stats.
Or when they make you use the quest weapon for the quest but I have a better stats weapon in my inventory

essential npcs are usually lvl 1, max lvl or have no lvl at all wich for some reason is sometimes higher than max lvl or lower than lvl 1
Npc is probably max level, and also immortal if he is storyline essential

To be fair, real world business is like that though. After it's sold to you, the shop is happy and has absolutely no incentive to buy it back from you for anywhere near as what you've paid.
Welp if we're gonna discuss about real life value of if lets say a "world saving sword" to be sold, at Charlegmane or Richard the lion Heart, Abu's split headed schimtar or any sword of that historic value/importance it causes 5 to 6 digits. So yeah he could sell it for a better price after use, now sword artifacts are just nation leader, if not world saver equips. If it was a world saving one maybe he can get more out of it theoretically.

At the very beginning of the game, the first shop is run by a member of the thief gang that you used to be part of. Having just left the gang, the dude says "Y'know, since you're no longer a member I have to charge you".
It's these little things that change a game from good to great.

Legends say the sword blade was smelted with the parts of an M416, the crossguard from the stock of an UMP45, the handle and pommel forged from a barrel of an AWM.

the sword is actually not that powerful anymore :))
slightly worse then the base gear you get for free at your lvl 45 job change/promotion
By that time you'd have a 6 legendaries 2 mythics and 1 ancient weapons that outrank the sword 2000 times over
when reaching lvl50
you finally find that you are a mage so you cannot equip this two-handed sword

I remember this time in Monster Hunter for the DS. The opening cutscene portraying a massive serpent thing in the water heading towards a village. It's coming right now. But only appears after a quest. So technically, while I had to be all haste, run to the village to defend it, I had to go on a quest first, before I could do the quest to destroy the Serpent. I was so taken aback, by the lack of un-urgence in an extremely urgent situation, that I never finished that game. I gave it back to my friend.
When you take roleplaying more importent than the game itself...

Continuity: This was actually Greg's grandfather's sword all along. After buying it off the adventurer for 2 gold, Bodger melted down the sentimental steel blade and made some sentimental spoons with it. He kept the hilt and with two Erangel ingots, reforged the blade and reassembled the finished sword into its final form, the legendary Sword of Vikendi. The sheath is the same, just reconditioned. Then, as only Bodger could, he resold the sword to the same adventurer at a 250,000% markup. Genius.
This is actually about as real as any game can get.
Yup, now if we can just get Rowan singing every time we get that powerful end game weapon, I'll be happy lol

you know that you're playing an area pre maturely when the reward that the quest give you is like a few levels ahead of your current one
Sadly in most games that is the only time they are useful. When your at the right level to do the quest... the rewards are often garbage. People toss it out or give it away to nearby lower level players. I remember my first day in an MMO and getting an ice long sword that did like +3 cold dmg. Was a reward for something like a level 30 quest, it's dmg was only 1 better than a rusty sword you could buy in the shop.
@@JustaGuy_Gaming Good lord, i remember playing an MMO years and years ago, some guy gave me sword from a level 30 quest, i was level 15, and the 'broken soldiers shortsword' i was equipped with did 2 more damage, AND had slots for enchanting, while the special quest reward...had a preset enchant that gave you 10% of chance of getting 5% for loot! woo!

I remember one game I used to play had a quest that was at the level cap (original cap was raised several times). The reward was a sword and shield. The sword was at least max damage but both were unenchantable which made them more or less pointless for PVE (somewhat useful for PVP) and the shield was same armor rating as junk shields you could buy at any armorer or weaponsmith in the game. Hell you could loot better off lvl 1 mobs.
But on the plus side it was on fire so it at least looked cool...

more than once i have gotten drops from powerful enemies that were such garbage my starter gear was better...
Case in point the twin swords of Heaven and Hell from that weird phone MMO that was popular for like...2 months...they looks amazing, but their stats were such crap people usually dropped them rather waste the inv. space...

This episode reminded me of Diablo 2 when it first was released. I was a barbarian in the game and acquired a weapon of unbelievable power, but a game version update changed the level requirements for the weapon and I could no longer use it because it became 20 plus levels higher to use.

The pain!! Too many times has this happened to me in actual games lmao, just forgot to add the resell time and rage after finding out you can only get like 5% of the money back and to top it off after you sell it you find some stupid level up boost to get you to the needed level and then you got to grind to get the money or the materials again to even try and get the weapon/armor once more! 🤬🤬🤬

Remember that skyrim has a skeleton key quest to open any doors and boxes without risking a break. If you finish that quest you will lose it
Lockpicking is super easy though. I could unlock a master level lock with starting level lockpicking in max 3 lockpicks. And lockpicks are easy to come by.

Gothic 2 had this when you play as a Paladin. you have to buy this sword from a blacksmith that you then have to upgrade to progress the story for more gold then you pay for your first 3 or 4 armors together while getting a better one in a dungeon.
Imagine another adventurer coming and he brings out another legendary sword :D
