I dont class people that have supported a club since they were very young kids as glory hunters. Great video, glad you enjoyed our stadium. New subscriber 👍
Glad you enjoyed it mate & appreciate the kind words 😁👍🏾
glad you enjoyed the tour m8 lots of other fans do the tour your more than welcome and enjoy Newcastle and the hospitality cheers
Thanks mate, everyone was sound as a pound 👍🏾
Just for info it’s Castore that run the shops currently, yet another Ashley cost cutting exercise. Hence why the selection of stuff is limited. It’s something the club is taking back control of in the summer
Not just the shop, I went for an interview for a management job on the bars and catering side which until the interview I hadn't realised was farmed out to a contract catering group.
It’s a unique take on English football, to visit every Premier League ground is some commitment for your content…
But at least you’re show-casing the whole league and not just sticking to Manchester United stuff, good video. 👍
I appreciate that! Yeah I've got no interest in becoming just another fan channel :)
Great Video , as a toon fan loved this video and Content😊
Thanks mate 👍🏾
Another great video. The away dressing room looks like the PE changing room in my school 35 years ago!😂
Haha isn’t the best is it 🤣
Started watching your vids and am really enjoying them. Keep going and hope your channel keeps growing. Do the EFL next year, then Germany, Spain, France, Italy etc, Good luck!
Great video, always interesting to see non Newcastle fan’s opinions on our stadium and facilities. Definitely got a new subscriber in me. Sadly as you were saying a lot of the infrastructure is unchanged since Mike Ashley took over as he was a cheap bastard, our training ground had wheelie bins for ice baths up until a few years ago, finally the investment needed is coming. Also one thing you missed was a walkthrough the absolutely beautiful Leazes park which has wonderful views of the stadium.
Good shout mate, I did walk up there but probably not far enough into the park as the view was blocked out by trees 😊 love St James’ Park 👍🏾
You mentioned early in the video about the takeover and when the celebrations died down one of the first things the owners paid for which we celebrated was the windows around the stadium being cleaned as Ashley took the penny pinching to that extreme. Great video mate, i could do a tour a day and watch vids on them and still learn new stuff that I didn't learn previously
Thanks mate much appreciated 👍🏾 yeah that’s a disgrace no wonder the fans were so glad to get rid of him… I don’t think even the Glazers have gone to that extreme 😅
@RysFootyParadise its mad when you get new owners and instead of celebrating what player signings you can dream of but the first signing is a window cleaner to wash the windows which is celebrated, absolutely mental lol. Yeah he was bad when he was here, you could make a mini series on how bad he was and despite us having new owners for a while now we are still feeling it on how bad his decisions were.
Great stadium but it’s definitely in need of a refresh, unfortunately Mike Ashley really didn’t care much for investing in to the stadium, new owners have done a lot but it’s a big ground so will take time! Really enjoyed watching this, I’m a Geordie living in Australia so it’s always a pleasure to see people visiting and producing content on our club! Thanks, keep up the great work. Ps. Hope you could understand the tour guide, he was pretty hardcore Geordie haha 😅
He was a proper Geordie haha 😅 St James’ does remind me of Old Trafford… slightly neglected in areas but historic and with some TLC could return to being a BEAST
Thank you for a good St James' Park stadium tour 😊
glad you enjoyed it!
Fantastic video mate well put across nice to see a non toon fan on the stadium tour decent United fan nice to know you have a soft spot for us keep the videos coming kind regards Robbo toon army 👍
'Who's the Prime Minister now? Rishi... Sunak? 😂 it's Sir Keir for your next visit. Maybe. Loved the Geordie pronunciation of Leazes.
Love these stadiums in the middle of the city/town rather than being stuck on the outside near a motorway. Close to all the pubs etc.
too right!
Nice movie mate. Glory Glory Manchester United and Sir Alex Ferguson forever ❤️ 🙌. Greetings from Leicester.
Thanks for the video. The ground expansion is on hold as Leazes Terrace next to the East stand is a grade 1 listed building. The plan in the Sir John Hall days was to build on Castle Leazes (a larger space just up the road) and to convert SJP to the home of the Newcastle Falcons (owned by Sir John as part of his Sporting club ambitions). Sadly scuppered by protests so SJP was extended to current capacity.
Leazes terrace are grade 2 listed buildings
@@zahrawillis1070 my mistake
Thanks for the info 😊 hopefully they’ll find a resolution and we can see that beautiful beast of a stadium in all its glory 🏟️
What an awesome vid. So many memories in there for me. Excellent stuff 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it 👍🏾
Enjoyable tour - did it with me dad a few years ago - top step is a killer!
haha yep, tiring!
I’m from Melbourne Australia and a massive spurs fan but I must say I love these tour videos thank you for sharing
Glad you like them mate 👍🏾 lots more to come
Always Love the tunnel walk out to the pitch!
Best bit of most tours 😁
I'd say the most impressive parts besides the obvious was the theming in the internal areas. Of course it keeps the monochrome colour scheme with gold accents but with the history all over the walls it really pops and stops it from getting dull. Incredibly well designed.
it does have a classy feel to it inside
When it comes to Novelty items the best place is to go to the Back Page shop in Chinatown (across the road essentially). That's where all the novelty and retro Newcastle/football memorabilia are best found.
cheers mate will check it out on my next visit
Excellent as always!
i am a footbaal stadiums fans i like newcastle's stadium , the terraces behind the goal are amazing...... very steep and high, it's like a black and white wall
Yes our stadium needs a refresh, 13 years under Ashley does that , our current owners recognise this and plans are afoot to upgrade whatever they can, there is a current study to see what can be done to expand the stadium, the Gallowgate end can be extended so it should be the same as the Milburn bringing capacity to 60/62k plus the East stand may well be demolished and rebuilt to further increase capacity. Good video. Howay the Lads.
not allot of people believe this but bobby robson use to live near my grandma before he became a manger, and my grandma use to babysit his kids, we actually have pictures of her with him that are very very old unfortunately my grandma passed 7 years ago so i dont have allot of info on it
Awesome stadium, no bias 😊
I usually sit pitch side in the east stand or tier 1 in the leazes, HWTL
All listed buildings behind the east stand so there’s no chance of demolishing and building back. Not a bad thing in my opinion but it might push the club to move eventually unless there’s a fancy solution from the architects. Fantastic vid by the way from a Newcastle fan I don’t think anyone from the area could have made one better.
I've done the St. James' Park stadium tour. It was incredible
Cracking stadium isn’t it 🤩
@@RysFootyParadise It sure is. Definitely in the top-3 stadiums that I've been to. I went to St. James' Park when it was only 36k capacity too & it was very nice even then.
Nice
Cheers ..always enjoy watching what others think of our football club…found it a little surprising you didn’t pick up on Wor Jackie (Milburn) being the cousin of Bobby Charlton’s mother ( if you watch interviews with the great men you see the family resemblance)and also its the grade 2 listed Leazes terrace that is the obstacle to expansion…not the terrace houses you indicated…but overall a fair vlog 👍
Thanks for the info mate 😊 the East stand is lovely looking from the outside. I read up before hand but then get a bit excitable and lose track 😅
@@RysFootyParadise Just remember that East Stand you are calling lovely was actually built in the 1972-73 season I believe. My first game being in 1974 in the West Stand paddock (Milburn Stand).
@@toonman1892 it looks like something from 1,000+ years ago… in a good way 😅
90s sponsors were iconic indeed
It’s just stuff we’ve never heard of on the shirts now…
The roof top tour is superb as the guide not only talks about the club but also some history of the city and surrounding areas. The third statue was Jackie Milburn who held the record for the quickest goal in an FA cup final 1955 v Man City until it was beaten by Di Matteo. He was also our top scorer until Alan Shearers overtook him. More famously, Wor Jackie’s dad taught my mother in law how to knit ( they were cousins) 😂
haha good to know! I'm not the best with heights but that rooftop tour is something to consider for a future video... 😅
@RysFootyParadise the guide told us that many a person bottled it at the last minute. My eldest son did it and he's not good with heights at all
@@RysFootyParadiseAnother cool fact was Wor Jackie was the cousin of Cissy Charlton
Newcastle season ticket holder here and I hope you visit us on a match day you’ll enjoy the experience better I’m sure 👌 Good informative video
cheers mate, just uploaded the Villa v Toon vlog and fair play your boys were LOUD haha class
Thanks for the canny vid of SJP 👍 We want to improve on our stadium but listed buildings, a listed park & a major hospital access road has us hemmed in! City centre issues... At least our club shop should improve when we take it back from bliddy Castore in summer 2024. *HOWAY THE LADS!* 🖤🤍
too right! Adidas and NUFC just go together like peas & carrots 🖤🤍
Sound’s like the tour guide said “the year 2000” when talking about Shearer. It was 2006. And from your camera angle the home dugout is on the right.
The roof tour is good if you like heights. They take you up on the roof of both the Milburn and leazers stands
I did the Newcastle tour when I watched my team play away at Gateshead. That tall stand is ridiculously step. I suffer with vertigo and I was virtually on my hands and knees crawling to the top. Although I'm a bit of a southern softy, I have roots to the north east on my father's side and one of his mother's cousins (a few times removed) played for Newcastle and now has a stand named after him, Wor Jackie Milburn.
Aye mate and Shearer is my nans housemaid.
👏🏽 fair play 🤩
BS
Good job you didn't do the roof tour then . I've got amazing pics of my roof tour (done the stadium tour loads of times, always changing) I have a picture taken on the mesh walkway that juts out as far as the glass rooves do , you can see my feet & , 150feet below, a groundsman mowing the pitch...look up and you can see the coast & for miles up the Tyne Valley, so special 😅
And I’m Gerrards dad… 🤡
Club shop was destroyed by Ashley. New ownership is slowly restoring it to premier league standards. Great video though, I should do this tour myself
Thanks mate, yeah what a nobhead - ta da Ashley
Hope you enjoyed the tour ,you could have used that car park behind the leazes end .Club shop is selling castore shite, adidas are returning next season .
Over 100 pubs within half a mile of the stadium and all away fan friendly. Cant beat it
One of the last remaining stadiums that's actually in a city centre that's why. Most are stuck in the middle of industrial estates where there's been lots of land for a new ground.
Another great watch....when you doing my beloved spurs stadium tour 😂
I'll be there Wednesday ;)
Subscribed and liked . Great video! I hope you do a King Power Stadium one day because I’m a Leicester fan 🦊
I was supposed to be at the game Monday, but can't do it now so gonna book a tour in a couple weeks ;)
3.20/3.21 made me chuckle,,,,,, thanks
Love those glasses Ry 👌 Where did you get them? What glasses are they? Sorry pal I just want a pair 😅 top vid as always 👍
Amazon I think mate 😅
@@RysFootyParadise Oh right I just think they look cool mate deffo suit you 👍👌
The club would like to build a new stadium on the town moor which is on the outskirts of the town. It’s not going to be easy because it’s for the people of Newcastle for recreation and farmers have grazed their cattle on the moor for a long time now. I think their only opinion is to develop the Gallowgate and build outwards and I believe it’s been talked about. Enjoyed your video.
cheers for the info mate and thanks for watching 😊
St James Park is like a fan with OCD's worst nightmare...
Outside the Gallowgate near the metro they're currently building a fanzone with the help of new sponsors Sela which will open in the summer
That’ll be class 👏🏽
keep st james park and upgrade our iconic stadium the new stadium is a good idea although i cant say further more newcastle will earn lots of admaration in the premier league will the new stadium would be great as st james has so much joy now and newcastles legacy could be the best option- lets do it-is-uor-destiny
I’m going the the Brighton match in October and then I’m doing the tour
Hope you enjoyed our trophy cabinet😆
Soon surely⁉️😅🍻
@@RysFootyParadise an FA Cup would be lovely!☺️
The cabinet is named after a former player ,Albert (aal bare)
I wish you could upload photos to the comments section!! I'd show you my photos from the 80s when I did the stadium tour. Looked a bit different 🤣
Drop us a DM on Instagram mate! Would love to feature your photos in a video about the transformation of the ground over the years… maybe even a few words from you on the change? 😊 @RysFootyParadise
@@RysFootyParadise will do mate, lemme dig them out and I'll get some over to you 👍🏽
@manchaple legend, love a bit of nostalgia 🤩
I sent some over to you, think you have to accept the message. I'll have to find the rest. It's not often they're out so they'll be in a box somewhere
Newcastle fan here. Our stadiums looking extremely tired. We definitely need a new one.
Great video 👏
It was the steps to the entrance further up where the players go in
Weren't them steps pal, was where the players go in now, great video you glory hunting Mike hunt
🤣🤣🤣 cheers mate
Come back in a couple of years and everything will be upgraded at St James to the best of the best!
It’s those grand looking houses that’s stopping the east stand expansion
something regarding the capacity of the stadium, when the original expansion was finished the full capacity was 55,000, however when new health and safety rules came in the club was forced to remove a few thousand seats and make space in certain areas, so the maximum capacity is now 52,500.
to answer your question about shearer coming to the club, my mam took me to the stadium when he signed and yes they had a massive setup atop the steps outside the stadium and he did his procession out of the stadium onto that upper section.
St James Park is taller at one end due to Leazes terrace on the east side being a listed property.
My season ticket seat is quite close to you at 21:04 also no swearing isn’t very inforced😂
Haha thank FUCK
Like Arsenal’s Stadium outside just had, parts of the Stadium could do with a freshen up
52 53 is my turnstile ❤
The tunnel type thing is where keegan dealt with the fans.
(Milburn stand had not been developed then)
We need to expand the ground but I don’t want us to leave like Arsenal and West Ham did
The Tyne wear derby has always been black and white vs red and white. There was no kit clash
The best Stadium in England.
Those houses are grade one listed building, they are to be taken down and rebuilt next to the Tennis courts
Unsurprisingly the shop looks like a sports direct
hahaha
Wrote in another comment section on another video about this hoodie..... where's it from? wouldn't mind getting one of these. Cheers.
Think it was a random clothes shop in Merry Hill shopping centre a couple years back 😊👍🏾 I’m not one got fashion you might have guessed lol
You can park at the stadium except on match days. King Kev addressed fans on the steps going into the players entrance. The bird you bought was a magpie, not a duck.
Sorry mate but it clearly says duck on the box 😂
@jdevlin1910 sorry just thought it was logic to be a magpie
That’s for the info mate 😊
Jackie Milburn was uncle to Bobby and Jack Charlton too
Your Cheltenham type house are why we cant build a extension they are listed
These house are listed buildings that’s why Newcastle cannot block the natural light from the houses behind the east stand,so they are trying to find away of building the stand but having natural light to the houses behind
Ahh that makes sense 😊
St James is known to us locals as the cathedral on the hill, as it is the only religion we follow!! Fun fact for you: where the Gallowgate stand is where they used to send criminals to their death /gallows!
Oh sh!t 😅
Have you done the Amex tour yet ?
Not yet mate that’s 1 of only 2 remaining… the other being Kenilworth Road 👍🏾
Didn't hear the Blaydon Races?
my memory of St James Park is not a great one. Nothing to do with the stadium or the fans but the day itself. A freezing cold December in 2011, a 4am start, god knows how many hours on a train, a seat somewhere in the sky, did I say it was freezing, getting home 22 hours later and all to watch Swansea play out one of the worst, most dreadfully boring 0-0 draws you'll ever see!
positives though were seeing a fantastic stadium, the locals who were very welcoming, a lovely lunch in a little Italian restaurant and a visit to a bookshop dedicated to sports books, memorabilia, programmes, etc.
The changing of the music by Lindisfarne just sound’s wrong to my north eastern ear’s. 😂😂
Had to try & avoid UA-cam taking the video down for copyright 😅
@@RysFootyParadise I’m glad they got the info about the picture of Shearer right in the player’s entrance. That’s because I’d put them right when I went. They claimed it was on his testimonial. 😂😂
You can park there just not on match days it's actually the cheapest place to park in Newcastle
Great video this. Couple of little mistakes, if you’d given me a shout, I would have been your personal guide.
Really good video though, I enjoy and appreciate your enthusiasm and interest.
Edit; commented early and saw you corrected the Keegan one! The bit of the stand that goes over the road wasn’t there when Keegan was.
Cheers mate, no worries 😁 love learning about clubs history and their grounds. Thoroughly enjoyable
Enjoy The Toon Pal.x
Thanks for not showing the Metro station and surrounding area, it's a bare tip atm.
Howay The Lads!! 🖤🤍
Edwardian those houses ..
Keegan left because sir John Hall was telling him he needed to sell players like ginola and Ferdinand ect to get money because they were floating on the stock market and he said if your selling them I'm off as it defeats the object selling our best players when we're building around these players and then only the top team went into the champions league so the revenue wasn't what it is now.
It’s an amazing ground to be fair. But the away seats offer one of the worst experiences in football. Way too far away from the pitch and no chance of a significant atmosphere.
St. James' Park is grey.
Interesting pronunciation 😂😂
Think how you would pronounce Caesars Palace and start with an L instead
haha got it 😅👍🏽
About 52,250
not correct....2006 was the last trophy won in europe.....
You do realise that you're allowed to do a tour of another team's ground without hiding that you support another club don't you? It's not exactly taking the Cold Blow Lane end in 1980. You could wear your Hereford shirt to show your love and understanding of football and it's place in building community if you want. Failing to understand football's important part in your local town isn't glory hunting, it's just failing to understand. Still, if it keep$$$$ the views coming in...
By the way, as soon as you spoke realised you were a Man United fan as you're obviously a Southerner and didn't sound Mancunian.
Not heard that one before 🤣👍🏾
@@RysFootyParadise No harm in emphasising the truth!
Where is the premier league trophy and champions league 😊😅😅😮😢😢😂😂😂😂
