Kalki 2898 - A.D is an upcoming Indian epic science-fiction dystopian film, based on Hindu mythology. The film is written and directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by C. Aswani Dutt, under Vyjayanthi Movies. Shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi languages, it is set in a post-apocalyptic world in 2898 AD. It is about the future coming of Kalki, tenth and final Avatar of Vishnu. The film stars Prabhas in the titular role alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani.
The film was announced under the working title Project K in February 2020 coinciding with the 50th anniversary of Vyjayanthi Movies. However, the production was delayed by a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Kalki 2898 AD is mounted on a budget of ₹600 crore (US$75 million), making it the most expensive Indian film ever made. The film's music is scored by Santhosh Narayanan with cinematography by Djordje Stojiljkovic and production design by Nitin Zihani Choudhary, of Tumbbad (2018) fame. Kalki 2898 AD is scheduled for a worldwide release on 9 May 2024.

I Have come up with a plot of my own based on the reddit leak you talked and many other rumors.
According to the astronomer and mathematician Aryabhata, Kali Yuga started in 3102 BCE. He finished his book Aryabhattiyam in 499 CE, in which he gave the exact year of the beginning of Kali Yuga. He writes that he wrote the book in the "year 3600 of the Kali Age" at the age of 23. As it was the 3600th year of the Kali Age when he was 23 years old, and given that Aryabhata was born in 476 CE, the beginning of the Kali Yuga will come to (3600 - (476 + 23) + 1 (One year from 1 BCE to 1 CE)) = 3102 BCE.
The Kurukshetra War and the decimation of Kauravas thus happened at the Yuga-Sandhi, the point of transition from one yuga to another.
Lord Krishna's death marked the end of Dvapara Yuga and the start of Kali Yuga, which is dated to 17/18 February 3102 BCE. Lasting for 432,000 years (1,200 divine years), Kali Yuga began 5,125 years ago and has 426,875 years left as of 2024 CE. Kali Yuga will end in the year 428,899 CE.
Kalki 2898 AD begins with the advent of the end of the world, aggravated by war, famine, suffering, and chaos that prevail across the globe (Kalki 2898 AD’s teaser glimpse shows the same in the starting). In the course of the story, in 1874, an ancient artifact is discovered, which contained a fragment of the remains of Rama, the Prince of Ayodhya, and the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Almost after a century, Dr. Shyama Bhalla, a geneticist, obtains the remains who attempt to recreate a creature from the ancient DNA in a lab in India, which will bear some disastrous results.
Thus, from the DNA obtained from the remains of Lord Rama, a clone is created by the evil geneticist named Kaali. The clone develops into a mature person acceleratedly and exhibits an extraordinary ability to convey emotion as energy. The clone’s powers become uncontainable and unmanageable, and he eventually discovers that he was created as a destructive force that has never been created before. The sole purpose of his existence was to bring Armageddon, that is, the end of the world, instead of saving it from misery. The entire project is spearheaded by a diabolically evil person (Kaali). The rest of the story revolves around the clone and his decision to either follow his instincts to do the right thing or to fulfill the purpose of his existence.
In Sanatan Dharma, Mahabali, Ashwatthama, Ved Vyas, Hanuman, Vibhishana, Kripacharya, Parshuram, and Markandeya. Nani will play the role of Kripacharya, as Amitabh Bachan will play Ashwatama, while RRR fame Jr NTR will play Parashuram. Give some other south indian old and new popular south indian actors for playing the other roles of astha chiranjeevi.
So Kaali [Kamal Hassan]in human form is the leader of the 'Empire'. He controls the resources of the world and is a cruel dictator. Kaali Army is called the Riders.
He makes the created Clone be his right hand man.
Kaali's empire's symbol is TRIANGLE.
Kamal Hassan has a 'Project K or Project Kali' in which he kidnaps girls when they are children, and tortures them by training them to survive the harshest ordeals. The strongest girl is chosen and sent to the chamber, and forced to give birth to a baby Kali Purush.
Now Kamal Hassan is Kali but he is getting older so he needs a new body but none of the girls are able to survive the power.
Severals girls die, then one day Padma is chosen as the one to go into the chamber. Padma's parents and villagers were likely massacred by Kaali's army.
Deepika padukone is the female lead , her character's name is padma, she is part of the Raiders, but instead of being bad she is good.
The raiders mission is destroy is the desytroy every temple in the world, and hence they ssend padma to destroy a Famous temple 'Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple'. But are defeated by Ashwatamma. Also this movies plot is somehow linked to te 7th door of theSree Padmanabhaswamy temple. As whoever tries to open it will die. Also, it is also believed that by opening this door, there will be a catastrophe on the earth. It is said that once some people tried to open it, but they died due to poisonous snake bites.
Ashwatama destroys the robot and sees a vision of Deepika Padukone's Character being Padma(the incarnation of Devi Lakshmi) and decides to rescue her. His memory is hazy due to his curse and he is violent.
Ashwathamma finds Padma and escapes with her and tells her who she is. They run away and he decides to find Kalki, who will save them from Kalyug.
After the defeat of raiders, the Clone is called to investigate the scene. When the clone enters the temple's 7th door, he is not attacked by any snakes, hence getting an oppurtunity to see the majasteic statue of lord vishnu resembling to his face. Then we see an amazing chase between Ashwatama and The Clone.
This chase is stopped by Kakbhushundi. Kakabhushundi, also rendered Bhushundi, is a sage featured in Hindu literature. He is one of the characters of the Rāmacaritamānasa, an Awadhi poem about the deity Rama by the saint Tulsidas. Kakabhushundi is depicted as a devotee of Rama, who narrates the story of the Ramayana to Garuda in the form of a crow. He arises from the Meshan Mani present on the temple. On the eastern side of Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, the clock was installed in 1833 during the reign of Swathi Thirunal, is the Meshan Mani (clock). It has on its dial, a man's face with two goats on either side.
He makes the clone realise his origin, of him being the man born out of lord rama's blood. He takes both of them to the past.
Kakabhushnudi takes ashwatama as well as the clone to the past, around the time whn Lord rama ordered his brother laxmana to leave his wife sita in the forest. These 3 seek wisdom from Lord rama. Just like this, these 3 go on to meet every Avatar of lord visnu and seek that avatar,s wisdom.
We simultaneously see the scenes of the 2098 ad post apocalyptic world and how kaali, an intelligence without any physical body is trying to get into a physical body or to become a demi-god.
After Kakbhushundi brings them to the present, Clone is overwhelmed by his past. Kakhbushundi flies back into the Meshan Mani from where he came. Ashwatamma falls on his kness and begs the clone to give ashwatama the boon to die.
Ashwatama gives hiis spear to the clone and falls on the clone's feet. The clone makes him get up, as we see a gaint image of lord vishnu resembling the clones' face appear. Lord vishnu gives ashwatama the boon to die. Lord yama comes behind ashwatama and takes him along with him.
We cut to a small broken shrine, where a white horse's staue can be seen. Its name is Devdutta. The plinth is for statue of Devdutta horse. Devdutta is the horse of Kalki God. The statue is made of white marble. The rear left leg of Devdutta bears a crack which devotees say is a wound and it is said that once the wound is healed completely Kalki God will incarnate to end Kalyuga.It breaks free from its statue body and runs towards the clone, with flame coming from it.
It reaches the clone, and comes to its feet. A flashback is scene, where lord krishna names the clone 'Kalaki'. We cut to black as end credits start to roll.
A post credit scene, where the most awaited Astha Chiranjeevi awake from their deep slumber. All of them are at different locations, awakened from their meditation. They now grow aware of the Kalki's presence, as we cut to black and end credits roll.
