La canción en si misma me hace llorar y con la nostálgica y conmovedora voz de Keaton... dios, me rompe el corazón. Uno de los mejores covers de esta hermosa canción.
I absolutely adored the Jeff Buckley version and I am a huge fan of Henson and this is everything good in the world mixed together it is so beautiful I love it
It does somewhat add to the aesthetic doesn't it. All of his album music seems to have very noticeable hiss behind it. I put this down to his quiet vocal style needing more gain than your average singer.
FatBoySkin with my personal projects at home referring to music, I have the that issue. I can't NOT have hiss unless I drown it in something else, which is just bad 😭
makes me think of it being played through water, if that makes sense? like speakers are bottom of a pool or something. which considering buckleys death, is quite poignant
You know how in Les Miserables, most people who play Fantine sing "I Dreamed A Dream" as a pretty song, and then Anne Hathaway came along and sang it like she was in pain and dying, and everyone figured out that that's how it's supposed to sound????? Yeah.
@@mexufoand Figs3 For me, it's not about the singer, but the song. John Lennon didn't write Imagine, although he did sing it. I think that, if Keaton Henson were to cover Imagine, it would be paying homage to the music, not to the asshole that sang it. And I will agree with you that John Lennon was certainly a terrible person, but many, in fact, most, famous people are assholes. I bet there are many artists you sing along to that are awful people in real life. There is no way around that. A lot of them seem philanthropic, but that is a major part of being a star. They have an image to uphold. They are all actors. This is most likely less true of Keaton Henson, considering his level of recognition, but all of them have a part to play. John Lennon just happened to be found out (Or that was part of his image). The truth is, most singers you listen to are terrible people, but you listen to their music anyway. If you were to research enough into every artist's life, you may listen to only a dozen or fewer singers. So, I think the person singing it doesn't matter. Listen to songs that make you feel good on the inside. In my opinion, it would be great if Henson covered Imagine, because at least then we would have a better version of the song, sung by a better person.
This rendition and the poor / rich quality of the audio reminds me of when I look at my old b/ w photographs and reminisce. It gives me that haunting feeling of being alone and melancholic.
I'm in my bed right now, curled up listening to this after crying for the past 3 hours, barely made it into the bed. Arms red and eyes stained. I'm that kind of sad right now.
Don't want to upset the keaton fans,as as i thought he sang you beautifully, but i think he crucified this incredible song,it was frankly quite painful to listen to..Had to immediately listen to K D langs rendition to hear the song sung properly.
+kay camillekay If he got the chords right, it'd be better for sure. And how about Jeff Buckley Live at the Sin-E up against KD Lang? I feel Buckley is almost a transcendent rendition... untouchable - like if Keaton had done it right
+buhreebs Buckley with the win forevermore. May he rest in peace. So many of my favorite singers have covered this song. Damien Rice, Keaton. They both pale in comparison to Buckley. That's not to say that they aren't great artists themselves, but his rendition just captivates so much.
His voice is so beautiful, yet so haunting. I could spend all day listening to him.
I see you everywhere!
I get that a lot, haha!
+Phancakes I was starting to forget his music thanks for reminding me Norway
I do. 🙂
i cant love him more than i already do i swear
i know what u are talking about
I've always loved Hallelujah, but never knew just how beautiful it truely is before I heard this...
Sameeeee
I have more goosebumbs just on my arm than the number of views this has got.
wow! didn't know keaton made a cover of this, it's amazing! soo much emotion :')
This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard.
If too much time passes, please comment and bring me back to Keaton. My soul needs this.
Ahna Whim two weeks is long enough to be away from this!!
ollie bradshaw
Thank you
Ahna Whim hey listen to this
IT IS TIME
You know what time it is.
I'm probably going to make a tape with every single one of Keaton songs and covers so I can listen to him all day and all night long.

They're both amazing covers, but just fyi in case you don't know it's a Leonard Cohen song originally.
The relatively poor audio, in my opinion enhances the version itself adding an opaque, drowsiness to it. Quite brilliant actually.

This is why I can't listen to Keaton's song during the day. It tears me so much I can't handle that when I'm outside ! Wonderful
He's got such an amazing quality to his voice
Very hard to listen to Hallelujah since it was played at my grandfather's funeral, this cover shook me to the core. So beautiful
You know how in Les Miserables, most people who play Fantine sing "I Dreamed A Dream" as a pretty song, and then Anne Hathaway came along and sang it like she was in pain and dying, and everyone figured out that that's how it's supposed to sound????? Yeah.
Jesus!!! this is so beautiful.
this might be my favorite version of halleluja. anyways keaton is definitely one of my favorite musicians.
keaton should cover john lennon's imagine
^^^^ This.
Emily T-J never seen a truer statement.
Emily T-J he shouldn't cover that awful awful human being. Keaton Henson is a beautiful person. Lennon was definitely not.
John Lennon was a total asshole.

Magical voice. I am mesmerized.
The crackled quality and venerable vocals reminds me of the work of Daniel Johnson music. Keaton's great

This is THE BEST vesion of this song. Period.
I've never heard anything so expressive in my entire life. Now I'm just a shivering mess.
I love this guy !
As I listen to this song which doesn't have the best quality, I can hear my heart breaking in HD.
I'm in my bed right now, curled up listening to this after crying for the past 3 hours, barely made it into the bed. Arms red and eyes stained. I'm that kind of sad right now.
I hope everything gets better soon internet stranger❤️
My brain is damaged at how good this cover is contrasted with how badly the audio is fucked up.
I saw him perform this live
This is a really good cover. I love Keaton Henson, but now I have go listen to Jeff Buckley to satisfy my ear a bit more.
Perfect😍
This is hauntingly beautiful. The audio quality gives it a more personal touch to it if that makes sense.
que voz 💙👏

some people forgot Jeff Buckley... 🤔
ArnoldVeeman You mean Leonard Cohen?
Savannah Hoekstra jep. in a way. but the one who covered him in the most awesome way is definitely Jeff
ArnoldVeeman Oh ok. And yeah I agree, Jeff Buckley's cover has always been my favorite too.
ArnoldVeeman he forgot his floatys
Comment dire...🖖

The recording quality isn't the best, but this is SOOOOOO PERFECT! each to their own tho I suppose
