I work for Chrysler idk if you ever used witech before but I can’t live without my topology. Specially for network stuff. Also got a Snapon scanner I mainly use for scope
I use my Autel 906BT daily and love it. Been breaching that point this year on its updates and have been considering the $$ factor and buying a new TopDon Phoenix Elite for the versatile factors. Then keeping my Autel for all other vehicles given the age etc.
You make an excellent point; not all scanners are created equal, and it's crucial to select one that suits your specific needs. I've noticed a trend on UA-cam where some automotive enthusiasts believe that investing in a $14,000 scanner can compensate for their lack of training or experience. It's amusing when they refer to it as the "big machine" or the tool that magically fixes cars. However, in reality, I've seen professional technicians use it as a diagnostic aid, not a fix-all solution. Similarly, some believe that splurging on an expensive welder will instantly make them master welders. However, it's essential to recognize that around 70% of vehicle issues can be diagnosed with OBD-II without the need for enhanced diagnostics. So, do you agree that it ultimately comes down to training and practice rather than relying solely on fancy equipment?
My contactor got a 2008 ford F350 cat that was deleted on it. He been to four other shops could not get engine check light off. I was able to go into the system and do a self test and lie to the system, turn off light. Since i did a few months ago, light never came on, and he got his power back.
Or get into any other trade and buy every tool you’ll ever need for the price of a mid lvl scan tool and never have to pay for updates or transducers. Not to mention licensed contractors pull $200k-$250k a yr. Or buy a scan tool so customers can tell you, “aUto ZOnE dIaG Fo fReE!”
Same. I have the 809 with tpms. I'm single handedly responsible for bringing tpms back in house at my shop. Plus, my diag tech tries to "borrow" my autel if I already have it out. 😅😂😂
I can see what you mean by the hardware on the Autel scan tools. I bought an Ultra a few weeks ago and the screen glitches rapidly every now and then. I have to power it off and on and it tends to fix it temporarily, but very irritating considering it’s 5 grand.
I have the snap on triton t10 and an apollo d8, was thinking about getting the top don as a second brand scanner, your thoughts on this?, and was that a re-branded autel?, and the maxis pro, who is that one made by?
Don't buy a scan tool to compliment the shop you are in... You might not be there a long time because of better opportunities... Buy the tool best suited for you and your work... I have the autel Sold my mac tools otc rebrand because of the year update costs...
Autel is getting more and more like Snap On. Omitting PIDs and functions, features that don’t work, and when you call tech support you get told to just keep buying updates and hope it gets fixed.

I am leaning towards getting a used snap-on verus edge and a new launch torque link after watching your videos
Can you do a 2024 tool box tour?
Been squirrelling away $$$ from side jobs think I'm going to pick up a top Don
Most shops/techs tend to buy top shelf scan tools that they never use to their fullest potential -especially Snap-On.
Topdon is very interesting to me, but they have to get the secure gateway deal straightened out. May pull the trigger on a launch x431 model.

I have a bunch of scan tools but my autel tpms tablet does so much it has bailed out my snap on d10 many times and was only 500 bucks lol

What do you think, Mac Et 9200 elite
The right answer is to have 3 of each brand "you need a backup for your backup‼️"

What about the matco maximus 5.0? Can you make a video?
Harbor Freight also sells Innova scan tools.
I have Zues Plus and am very happy with that tool.
2024, and there is still only one choice for Ford OBD I scan tool.....

This industry sucks. Get into tech or healthcare you will make more I guarantee it
I asked a friend who works in healthcare where to buy used parts to play with in my garage.
He hasn't talked to me since.
Lmaaaooo 😂
I know plenty of people running from healthcare because all the redtape and BS isnt worth the big paycheck...
Sorry that it wasn’t for you
