Allpa 42L is a great bag! Traveled all over Croatia, Italy and Boston, USA. Never had to check, always accepted in the Overhead, which was my initial attraction to the Allpa 42L. Construction is very high quality and well thought out. I say this as a former climbing guide from Alaska who has carried a lot of different packs! I’ll probably pick up the fanny pack before our next trip. Be well and travel safe!!😊

But once you find the magic spot, its like a warm hug. Even loaded with hydro and cumbersome weight it rode perfectly without digging in. I know its been a while since this came out, but i think you should spend some one on one time with the Allpa X and really work on making those minor adjustments for sling/crossbody setup. Outside of that this video was bang on. And that rubbery coating is wonferful, TPU coatings on these packs are very resistant to water, sun damage, stains, you name it.

FINALLY!!! I have been waiting to hear your thoughts on this bag. I too have the 42L but in the Del Dia and I freaking love it!! it is the right amount of organization and I use packing cubes which fit amazingly well. Instead of the hip pack, I have the 16L Cotopaxi Batac pack which is a foldable backpack. This works great for me as my EDC when I arrive at my destination. I have a small 2L hip pack that fits in the top and that's it. Thank you for the review...there are not to many out there and I really love this brand and what they stand for.

@@jamesjamez4 yeah, the next size down is fine but the bigger size will give you that extra just in case. Since it is soft it can squish if needed. I have never had a problem on any of the airlines with the bigger size.

It is still my number one travel pack although I'm about to test two that might take its place. You bring up an interesting point about humid or extra hot climates. I think your gut is telling you the right thing about the lack of air channels. I would be looking for something ultralight with, a very breathable back panel and harness system. Maybe something from Osprey
The vast majority of travel packs out there have a tech pocket with lots of pockets and such. But I’m not a digital nomad. I don’t bring a lot of electronics. The Allpa has 3 buckets: a small, a medium, and a large. I can organize it the way I like. If I want to add a tech pouch or section, I can easily do that. If I don’t want, then I don’t have to, and I have max space. The simplicity of the inside of the bag, and the comfort of the belt/harness are the big selling points for this bag for me.

You say that the Allpa 42 is very comfortable. But, is it really that comfortable to carry compared with an Osprey backpack? (Osprey Farpoint Trekk 55, for example) They have the wire to transfer the weight to the hip, and the weist belt it's really comfy. I really like the Allpa, but coming from using Osprey I'm afraid to downgrade comfort as those backpacks are very good designed to be comfy.
Not sure if I will do another video on this one. I can share that the bag has held up very well - zero issues and no change in my impressions that this is my favorite overall travel backpack. The aer fits well in the top space.
What size Nomatic Dopp do you have that fits into the inner-upper-mesh pocket? Large or small? I just bought this bag because of this review and it's excellent so far!
This is still my favourite BUT Tomtoc may compete with it. They have the Navigator A82 Travel Laptop Backpack 40L $77.99. It reminds me of the Tom Bhin Aeronaut (which I also have). I may pick this up for that price for my next trip in September. Definitely a bag to check out! :)
Is this still your fave travel bag dude? I'm torn between this and the Tortuga Lite 40, they seem very similar but the Cotopaxi is actually available in my country which is a plus!
