I rewatched the London 2012 Individual All-Around finals again the other night when I couldn't sleep. Never ever get tired of watching rhythmic gymnastics... I saw a different documentary on Russian rhythmic gymnastics, it was done this year pre-Rio, and one gymnast had a stress fracture in her foot, they said it was as simple as gaining and losing 2-3kgs, that extra weight can make the difference at the highest level of rhythmic gymnastics... I was definitely surprised by that. I'm used to hearing about artistic gymnastics and injuries, but not rhythmic.

Its hard to say if her ballet is better then company dancers but for sure her performances are, another reason why her stage performances are better then the ballet dancer is she isn’t stoned before going on stage. In the future, when they fix the accelerated ageing in humans, people like Ana can have longer careers damn shame she only really had 3 years
Yana is too much on winning. She should perform for the performance not for the medal. She should enjoy performing. Her life seems so dark to me right now. Doing something 24h a day you not completely do for doing it but for the results of it is so sad. Man. You can't survive like this. She has to be like her ribbon at Rio. Smiling. Enjoying. Fuck the results. That's when the real moments happen.
I remember watching a documentary on Yana and she said "winning doesn't matter to me" or something like that! confusing..but I suppose if you train like how Yana does, then you'd want to win! you want your hard work to pay off!
