- Electric fence grounding is one of the most important aspects of electric fencing, it is often overlooked. Most of the problems we see on faulty electric fences, are caused by poor or faulty grounding. This video shows the basic requirements for an effective earthing system for an electric fence. Note: These are the minimum requirements only. For instance larger more powerful energizers will require more earth stakes buried deeper into the ground.
Can you use metal fence posts and if so does the wire need to be insulated?
You can use metal posts, and yes, you need to use insulators
5 wire fence, single wire without having to put a jumper wire from strand to strand . One continuous run ?
How to buy ?

How can I be training

Please see the Stafix electric fencing website for more information and registration for our training courses, we do offer some training modules online.

Glad I watched this video, was just thinking why don't I just attach the ground to my domestic electricity earth
What is difference between using 1 vs 3 grounding rods?
what length fence/line or power/animals does it make more difference? solar vs ac direct? different environments?
Can i make earth in the Db box when my shockets are not having earth cable, is it possible to eart through neutral terminal in Db box?
Fabulous, no, they are stunning video clips, very cool presentation of material
Many thanks! really appreciate your positive feedback
in a ground return circuit scenario does the round wire that loops the paddock get spliced to the beginning creating a closed loop or does it stay as an open loop?
Better close lop
Hi - thanks for the vid. What would be the consequence of connecting two energisers to the same earth rods?
Hi George your question has received a lot of debate within the electric fencing community some say it is more common practice now to use the same earth for two different energizers but there have been some issues in the past especially when one of the energizers was larger than the other, there were accounts where the larger energizer caused issues to the other energizer, it is also more difficult to determine possible faults along a fence line when two energizers share an earth.
Hi!❤
Can i instal ground stick about 100m from the fence??
probably not ideal, why? current seeks easiest path to complete, 100m away is far distance
Incomplete connections...is there a return? Should there be? How is everything connected at the energizer?

This video will help you understand the electric fence system, it is an open system with a live out and a neutral to ground the circuit is only completed when something touches the fence enabling the current to travel to ground and back to the energizer.
So my dog climbs and jumps my privacy wood fence (6ft high) so I put my live wire at the very top , my dog unfortunately still climbed and got out even tho he touched the live wires , so do I need to add a neutral wire at the top as well to complete the circuit?
Lmao. Yes. There's no point putting a hotwire at the top when he's already jumped; put it at the bottom where he jumps from
You need a different dog! 😂
How can I connect the lighting deverter
Just a small correction on your diagram “electron flow” should be electrical flow as electrons flow backwards !
mc
AGAIN metric, grrrrr WTF
As we are a global company in 56 countries that mostly use the metric system we use it as our measurement standard.
1.2m = 4 feet. 100m = football field (with endzones lol)
I love it
Sir, how does this apply to an area that is paved? Does the traditional earthing method still work? Thanks
Hello Mohammed apologies for the late reply yes the rods will have to go through the paving.
@@JVASecurity i want to buy bro
cool content bro
Good sir 👌
This is SOOO over the top haha
Not In dry conditions! You must work with computer or something. If you picked up on it they are trying to reforest africa broseph. That means they NEED cattle and with dry ass ground they NEED multiple rods! I’m here in Florida and I NEED mutiple rods too and this dudes video is the best in the world and not over the top. Sit down big boy.
-Florida cow and hemp farmer
I’m in Ohio, never saw more than one ground rod used.

Thanks a lot for these *free* videos!
