In every single other country in the world where you can do tourism and examine other cultures and they display ethnic dances and food and rituals and whatnot, that is the native people running that business and they earn the money from tourists paying them to share their culture. In China it's the government itself paying these ethnic minorities to do these dances and act like they're happy and get to have their own culture no problems in China when the reality is they're often thrown in concentration camps for their non-Han Chinese culture. You as a tourist don't have to pay anything to see these ethnic displays, whereas in other countries you do. Do you not think that is strange? Why is it do you think that the government feels it is so important for tourists to be able to see dancing minorities for free that they use tax money to fund it? You can't expect the CCP to change its way, its operating in a natural state of self preservation. But the American government, its people are all complicit in feeding the CCP because of how our economy is structured, as in we value consumption over some arbitrary moral standard. Our consumption have become our moral, and China is just the one who provides the consumption at a reasonable price. Unless we move away from consumption, nothing fundamentally will change in this dynamic, but all of this is the basis of a capital system. The current capital system is fueled by this relationship, so its not going to change because Americans love capitalism more than they love morals/ethics/values.

To describe it the best Slovakia is a mix of Czech rep, Hungary, Poland and corruption, nationalism, bigotism, populism are on the rise in this region. Not very progressive societies at the moment. But when it comes to communism slovaks are different a lot of them are apologists, which is insane to me and my father, sister but you would hear my christian mother sometimes say "not everything was bad about it for example" followed by one of her incorrect assumptions, we often argue. Btw thank you for your interest, it's nice to know that people care for us, thanks again, western nations indeed cared and still care. We need to mantain the freedom and security, soviet or any other communism never again... Unfortunately a lot of people here in Slovakia still wouldn't say that. Czechs and Poles on the other hand like you said are more reasonable with their feelings towards communism/socialism and what danger russian goverment represents, not so much so some of high ranking czech politicians.But you would actually be surprised that even there there are still a lot of people and I mean a lot of people in these countries who think those regimes were better than the freedom we have now. But Slovakia is definitely the worst out of the three. Plenty of slovaks were and are rusophiles, despite the war in Ukrainie which is our neighbour and a good partner, despite our official diplomatic view of the war these people have reversed views on Putins regime and the EU, liberal democracy meaning they literally see good as bad and bad as good. Which leads me to the fact that we are the first generation who can fully understand liberal democracy but country has a long way to go before we drag it there and it's very hard. Not even my christian mother who participated in the velvet revolution understands it because she grew up under the communist regime and still lives in a society which is constantly under the threat of very corrupt prorussian pseudo socialdemocrats, pseudo conservative populists and christian nationalists and far right. These are the very strong elements demonising liberalism and democracy, minorities, police investigators, independent journalists and basicaally destroying our society on a daily basis trying to isolate our society with their final goal being enslaving us all as far as the modern world allows them to. My sister moved out from here I am soon planning on leaving too. Party I vote for have never been a governing party which means I still couldn't choose what society I want to live in and in 6 years I will be 30. If nobody here is willing to listen to my voice even your own family you simply have to move. Senior citizens are the future of Slovakia is all I can say. When I first moved to China to work at the international school i am still at, I went to Xinjiang for my summer break(i went to Urumqi, Turpan, and Kashgar) and it was bittersweet. the first thing you notice is the immense police presense and amount of airport level security in malls, the grand bazaar, some underpasses, and even parks. i remember coming across a demolished mosque and i tried ask a local what happened and they refused to say anything, profusely shaking their heads and making an "X" with their fingers. Xinjiang is where you see in full display the authoritarianism of China. despite all of this the Uyghurs were some of the nicest people i met and it was a bit of an ancestral family reuinion where we would connect and talk about our shared ethnic heritage(I'm half turkish) and such. I'm planning on going again because I love the region/culture/people.

I went there in 2018 and was on a Chinese language tour with Chinese tourists. They took us to this crazy human zoo full of Kazakh people and none of them would even look at me.

I have a Uighur friend whose colleague went missing for 3 months before his family was told he was in the reeducation camp. The reason that he was put into the camp was simply because he registered a Turkish movie online streaming website with his gmail account. As Turkish things are prohibited in Xinjiang especially for Uighurs and gmail account has been blocked. He is a teacher in a high school and was treated like this. His wife was pregnant at that time, but he was not allowed to go home. He was released after 6 months and lost his job at school. Now he is doing his own business to make a living. It is one example of arbitrary detention/.

One thing I've noticed about the way the genocide is being portrayed, people are blaming the CCP, not every Han Chinese person. Western activists could take notes from this, if you have an issue with the way a group is treated, don't blame everyone of a certain ethnicity/social group and don't try to act as if responsibility lies on anyone except the individuals making the actual bad decisions. Why is it do you think that the government feels it is so important for tourists to be able to see dancing minorities for free that they use tax money to fund it?

Our consumption have become our moral, and China is just the one who provides the consumption at a reasonable price. Unless we move away from consumption, nothing fundamentally will change in this dynamic, but all of this is the basis of a capital system. The current capital system is fueled by this relationship, so its not going to change because Americans love capitalism more than they love morals/ethics/values.

It's interesting to me that citizens of countries previously behind the iron curtain have zero love for communism. I know some Russians who still say positive things about it, but I have never heard a Czech say they liked it. Is this your experience too?
@@paulwally9007 Well to give a quick answer you see I am the only one slovak here, speaks for itself doesn't it... To describe it the best Slovakia is a mix of Czech rep, Hungary, Poland and corruption, nationalism, bigotism, populism are on the rise in this region. Not very progressive societies at the moment. But when it comes to communism slovaks are different a lot of them are apologists, which is insane to me and my father, sister but you would hear my christian mother sometimes say "not everything was bad about it for example" followed by one of her incorrect assumptions, we often argue. Btw thank you for your interest, it's nice to know that people care for us, thanks again, western nations indeed cared and still care. We need to mantain the freedom and security, soviet or any other communism never again... Unfortunately a lot of people here in Slovakia still wouldn't say that. Czechs and Poles on the other hand like you said are more reasonable with their feelings towards communism/socialism and what danger russian goverment represents, not so much so some of high ranking czech politicians.But you would actually be surprised that even there there are still a lot of people and I mean a lot of people in these countries who think those regimes were better than the freedom we have now. But Slovakia is definitely the worst out of the three. Plenty of slovaks were and are rusophiles, despite the war in Ukrainie which is our neighbour and a good partner, despite our official diplomatic view of the war these people have reversed views on Putins regime and the EU, liberal democracy meaning they literally see good as bad and bad as good. Which leads me to the fact that we are the first generation who can fully understand liberal democracy but country has a long way to go before we drag it there and it's very hard. Not even my christian mother who participated in the velvet revolution understands it because she grew up under the communist regime and still lives in a society which is constantly under the threat of very corrupt prorussian pseudo socialdemocrats, pseudo conservative populists and christian nationalists and far right. These are the very strong elements demonising liberalism and democracy, minorities, police investigators, independent journalists and basicaally destroying our society on a daily basis trying to isolate our society with their final goal being enslaving us all as far as the modern world allows them to. My sister moved out from here I am soon planning on leaving too. Party I vote for have never been a governing party which means I still couldn't choose what society I want to live in and in 6 years I will be 30. If nobody here is willing to listen to my voice even your own family you simply have to move. Senior citizens are the future of Slovakia is all I can say. I am young relatively strong I can beat the evil in my life if you can do that too we are two, that's how we get them we can beat the evil. We need social evolution, revolution of the minds and unity of the nations. Just hang in there brothers and stay and stand together, we are stronger together, I love you all!

When I first moved to China to work at the international school i am still at, I went to Xinjiang for my summer break(i went to Urumqi, Turpan, and Kashgar) and it was bittersweet. the first thing you notice is the immense police presense and amount of airport level security in malls, the grand bazaar, some underpasses, and even parks. i remember coming across a demolished mosque and i tried ask a local what happened and they refused to say anything, profusely shaking their heads and making an "X" with their fingers. Xinjiang is where you see in full display the authoritarianism of China. despite all of this the Uyghurs were some of the nicest people i met and it was a bit of an ancestral family reuinion where we would connect and talk about our shared ethnic heritage(I'm half turkish) and such. I'm planning on going again because I love the region/culture/people.

The Mongolians are forced to denounce their culture and see it as terrible and savage, they are forced to learn in school that the only good culture is Han Chinese culture, also they are heavily punished for speaking Mongolian and China removed the Mongolian language from their whole school system. I have a Uighur friend whose colleague went missing for 3 months before his family was told he was in the reeducation camp. The reason that he was put into the camp was simply because he registered a Turkish movie online streaming website with his gmail account. As Turkish things are prohibited in Xinjiang especially for Uighurs and gmail account has been blocked. He is a teacher in a high school and was treated like this. His wife was pregnant at that time, but he was not allowed to go home. He was released after 6 months and lost his job at school. Now he is doing his own business to make a living. It is one example of arbitrary detention/.
There are protests here in Toronto talking about the Uyghurs by Uyghurs.

One thing I've noticed about the way the genocide is being portrayed, people are blaming the CCP, not every Han Chinese person.
Western activists could take notes from this, if you have an issue with the way a group is treated, don't blame everyone of a certain ethnicity/social group and don't try to act as if responsibility lies on anyone except the individuals making the actual bad decisions. Doing anything else is divisive and causes more problems than it solves.
