Excellent talk, informative and very well presented. It makes me want to explore my barn anew to see legacies of the past.

Excellent overview of PA historic barns and their features! Loved all the example photographs, agricultural history, and PA Dutch (Deutsch) translations.

I thoroughly enjoyed this, excellent talk! As a child, I often wondered about the aspects of my grandparent's barn and those of neighbors. None of them were totally functioning barns at the time- some weren't used at all, some held just a few animals and a bit of feed. So, thank you for explaining in detail, how the barn functioned. They're ingenious in design and so culturally important as well.

Excellent talk. My grandads bank barn in Lycoming county has two very light, simple six-pointed stars on the granary wall.
Other barn dangers: falling out of the hay mow while loading loose hay. My great great grandad received a mortal injury falling out of the his hay mow.
