My family has had a ranch just outside Boerne for over 3 decades. We knew the previous, generational German owners prior as well. It blows my mind mind how much little Boerne has grown in just my lifetime, and even more from the stories I heard from Mr. Bubi Herbst. He could remember when the highways were dirt roads, unpaved until the '50s according to him. RIP.
Moved halfway across the country from VA to TX in September of 2023 and have been loving every single day since. Even sweeter living in Boerne. Fantastic people, fantastic town, and has felt like home since my first day here.
@@sweetcandy16_gaming23 We're being pushed out everywhere!!! Dickheads like this try to make Texas look different. Us Germans settled here and more because of hurricanes and the hill country looks like home. Get a long with these guys, 🤣🤣🤣, bud, I'm old and grey, the things folks will be saying after you leave. 😂😂
To the Daytripper team... your episodes are always top notch. My wife and I love watching this together regularly. This episode in particular, had us ROLLING with the Weekend at Bernie's references!!!! You guys are the best, keep up the great work!!!!
Wow! The Cave with No Name! I heard the stories from my Grandma about Aunt Mary, Uncle Harold, and Uncle Jim exploring and finding this. Thank you for the video! It's a great video to share with my adult children.
As a child, I was so disappointed in what a real Road Runner looked like. But, I have the Plymouth muscle car-based version of the classic blue and purple bird. Love this channel. Chet, you and the crew are the best!
@Chet, I love watching all your Daytripper episodes! I love our state of Texas and spend many weekend daytripping myself. Next time you are in Boerne you must try Compadres Hill Country Cocina - 209 Lohmann St, Chef Mark, is featuring RGV cooking style, which is a straight Tejano style cooking, he has worked in reputable country clubs throughout the state of TX and now has this humble spot in Boerne. He is a Veteran and does a lot for the Veteran community. He gives free beer when you eat there. Then head to Free Roam Brewing Company, they are a group of great friendly guys!
I had no idea that there were roadrunners here until the other day when my husband told me. I’m use to seeing them in Tucson. I have lived in Texas half of my life and haven’t seen one here yet.
Hey, Chet! Love your videos. Just watched Day Trip to Boerne--super fun! I thought I would send you a German tip (I have a BA in German from Baylor, and lived/worked in Germany for years). When you pronounce "Lederhosen," the first syllable should be like the English word 'lay,' not 'lee." The German word "Lieder" means songs, and is pronounced with the first syllable like the English 'lee.' So, when you say "lee-der-ho-zen," you are saying "songs pants." Funny.
Nice shootin' Tex! Bullseye!! AWESOME episode overall. Sooo many neat things in this one. Great reference to one of the most absurd but funny movies from back in the day. The producers of the movie are kicking themselves for not thinking of the trampoline gag. That bible is truly an amazing price of history and culture. 7:13 The rifles all in a row with the iconic come and take it in the background ya just a great shot(see what I did there?) That's a really cool range Rapid fire allowed yee haw! That's kinda rare for those who don't know. Just a tip for you both eyes open with the red dot sights. That's a big part of what makes them so great for rapid target acquisition. Looks like you had fun with that airgun eh? Cibolo just gorgeous what an Eden. Heck you even got a little A.S.M.R with the music and the cave guides soothing voice carefully explaining the features of the caves. Random looks really cool too. I'm about to purchase a new(to me) touring vehicle and this area is now on my list. Seriously one of my favorite episodes. Cool Chet
Sorry you feel that way. I like the guy because he builds things and employs people. Looks like he spends money there also. And as far as that goes, he is a veterinarian and a successful business owner. I don't know him personally, but he found a market for his skills. Good on him. He seems to be somebody that would be a good friend.
We be tripping out. I see what you did there with the Bible."In the beginning". I need a shooting range near Victoria that rents guns for practice.Tacos or Taquitos?
How could you go to Boerne and not stop by Bunker Branding and see Matt? Next you need to go to Brownfield, where I live. I'll show you some bomb spots to eat.
Boerne shooting club has to be horrible, idiotic, clueless on shooting. You shot with no eye protection or ear protection. Any....any normal shooting range requires eye and ear protection. If proper shooting etiquette is not used ( especially for a video promotion), unsafe club. Run... away from it.

started watching your channel as i'm new to Texas... learning about its history and whatever else.. Thank ya for the full episodes.
Soda Pops is permanently closed along with Random Beer garden.
I was all excited because I thought Random was back open smh
This was filmed quite a few years ago-a number of places visited have since closed (Soda Pops closed around the start of the pandemic).
Fr Boerne is growing way too fast😭
Marie's is still around thank goodness

Went to Mary's in Boerne today. It is 5 star food. Seating and ordering (people behind and before us were a bit pushy)
I live here and love it!!
As a kid I went to summer camp in Leander Tx, at Nameless Valley Ranch, and they had the same story for the camps name.
The weekend At Bernie skit was choice!
🍻
My family and I had the pleasure of eating lunch with Chet. He is awesome with a heck of a personality!

I live here, and almost never shop here. Everything is marked up for no reason

Only way to taste a freshly made flour tortilla is right off the grill and rub some butter on it. Corn tortillas are always right off with some salt.
“That is the core of this club”
I know that’s right!

The Boerne cutoff is a great way to New Braunfels (TX-46) if you're headed SB on I-10.
Even numbered highways run east and west. But I see how people might be confused
Do you have an episode in Plano, Texas
Eye and ear protection?????
You go to Boerne and not stop at Maggie's. Better tacos, ask George Straight, lol
Im surprised you didnt visit Demolition Ranch. I guess it the ratings competition. But I really enjoy both shows
You missed saying its the hometown of Demolition Ranch
Hate to break it to you, most locals regard him as an ignorant UA-camr.

Not gonna lie... haven't even watched the vid.. but he went to Boerne and got Mexican food? I'm good. Lol
Dude. If you don't know Mary's Tacos, then you're missing some of the best tacos in the state.
Sweet salty spicy and sour good taste
LOL you have president Bernie in the back seat.
Lots of shops have been replaced with title loan locations. Not much to do in Boerne.
Have you earin’ hamburgers at MONDOs in Victoria
Eatin
Shooting sports are an important part of being a Texan and American!
I agree, love from Minnesota!
First comment! Love Tacos 🌮
Them Mary's tacos really looked delicious ❤
