I countered a 7 CMC Tibalt in the horrendous Cascade meta, and opponent got salty and told me I was stealing ideas from Twitter. Then I Quelled their Uro, and said “Yep, and now I’m stealing cards from you.”
You understand how the stack works, therefore you're stealing ideas from Twitter lol.
I love when you can just stay quiet and opponents just go off in the chat and waste their time. 🤣
For Being Muted every 2 weeks because of profanity and shenanigans last 10 years I am F*CK*NG PISSED and salty for not being featured in this video.
If this is gonna be a series I'll be sure to keep the salt mines full!
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FreeBobby315 is one of my local Magic "kids" and I definitely did not know he was gonna be in this. Today is a great day!
haha I noticed you were featured too
Things have changed a little. Back on MODO when it first started was more like: Turn One- Play Island
Opponent: GG
modo?
OK the "Prime Time" comment is where you got me, enjoy your 👍
The real reason Arena doesn't have a chat, funny part is these comments are tame compared to the astonishly crazy that goes down on MTGO.....true salt of the earth
I don't buy that. You can easily have an option to mute chat just like muting emotes. Problem solved.
That’s extra work that they choose to ignore to keep a safe space for people.
Honestly i'd love arena having a chat just for the extra fun of rebuking salty people
7:06 spirit squad using the chat as intended
Aiming to please in every format!
what does this mean?
That MTGO prime line was pretty damn good.
I love the players that play a weaker deck in the format so they can brag about how well they piloted the deck when they win and have the excuse that their deck is weaker when they lose. It's like in their mind they always win.
Unfortunately the scoreboard doesn't care about their moral victories. MTGO needs a sodium concentration scoreboard so they can at least win at something.
Wait until he sees what it's like on cockatrice, you don't know how a mechanic in the game works? "You fricken noob" *kicks you out of the game*
Lol, I once corrected a guy who was not only doing illegal plays, but was also playing Ponder in modern. He called me a waste of time, and kicked me LOL
Strange, I always find friendly people on cockatrice, besides the 1 time I got kicked out of a game because I was trying to explain that cryptic doesn't draw a card if the other mode has a target and the target is not valid at resolution
@@cowisiontv6611 yes, the majority of people on cockatrice are friendly, but because it acts like IRL, where there is no system to actually uphold the rules, some people like you said tend to try to do stuff that simply is not legal, and when you call them out for it, they get pissy. Unlike IRL where you can just get a judge to help, those people stay ignorant, and just kick you
"Hah ez first game win!"
"Sure man"
Scoreboard: 1-999
This is just fantastic. Can't wait for the next one!
I love how the second guy criticized someone for home brewing and claiming net-decking was superior. I find it’s usually the inverse.
Ironically I've heard both statements an even amount of times to the point that both are annoying.
I made much respect for the homebrew guys or off Meta guys
Truth is that both are used by the really good players. You should net-deck to know what the metas are, and play them to learn how they are used in order to create reasonable counters when homebrewing, and you should homebrew and learn to spot combos and strong cards so that when you pull up the metas you can understand how to play and win games with them. And even if net-decking, homebrew experience can equal some really good *slight variations* on the pre-set deck lists or help inform what kind of sideboard to run.
I don't know. I kind of like the player who said "Let's keep it that way." True spike. LOL
Excellent. I live in a perpetual salt shaker on Arena. Glad to see others in magic snapping off in rage too lol.
There is a lot of luck involved in the game, as well as skill. When I play on Arena, I know my mana ratio is great but always seem to have 2 lands by turn 4 (24 land in a 60 card deck). When I add more land, all I get is land.
I also have 'slower' multicolored decks that get wiped by fast single color decks. That's the price you pay for trying out new combo ideas. I'll also admit, I say salty shit out loud when getting burned, removaled, or countered the whole game but have never sent anyone any msgs or anything. No one likes losing.
My best decks are decks I have been destroyed by, modified with my own ideas and twists.
My favourite personal one of these was vs a lantern control player when I was on UR Through the breach. They got salty at me for not conceding on the spot when they had lantern and two shredders down (I had 6 cards in hand and plenty more answers to draw/ways to draw at instant speed). Whilst they wasted their timer berating me, and throwing seriously hefty curses at me, I reminded them that time was ticking and encouraged them to play on. They then accused me of timer stalling before proceeding to timer stall me until they lost x)
This is great. Lantern player deserved it.
When I played on Arena, I couldn't decide if I wanted a better chat system. I didn't think I did ultimately, though I'd have liked some snarky options when you draw that 5th land in a row.
I will personally always get salty when I draw shite and the opponent draws gas in multiple games, but I feel like if you just lose a match to someone, you should be able to get up and move on with your life. When I'm playtesting and get mana screwed ~10 games in a row (with endless mulligans to get a hand that was statistically normal) vs a deck that did not need to mulligan past 1 in all those games. It was surreal, it was just not going my way. I think I decided I am not a very lucky person, but I will admit that at another time a run of good openers I had with a deck eventually convinced me to adjust the deck to make that more statistically likely to occur. It worked, and the deck improved. As for drawing all lands, that statistically isn't that unlikely. People seem to think that if something has a 5% chance of happening that they won't see it happen a couple times in a row, or even 3 times, yet in a decent sample size, you'll always have some outliers. Be gracious with your good hands, and take your lumps when you draw bad seems the way to go. If you want more or less of something, adjust your deck accordingly, and you'll have less of these 'screw' hands. Heck, run MDFC if you hate being stuck with all lands, there *are* options if you want them.
Wow! I'm suddenly glad I play Arena! I've wished for a chat function so I could help a guy out or apologize for missing that I had priority!
Yeah, the chat thing would only get abused on arena. It’s already abused with the emotes! 😂
I think I speak for everyone when I say we need more videos like this. I am sure being a Merfolk Master you have seen enough salt for a years of these videos if you were to screenshot your chats. I know I have in my past few years on the 'folk and DnT.
I haven't seen salt for like 4 years. I'm too popular of a UA-camr to get it now.
Had a guy come to to our store’s modern tourney during summer 2019 and my buddy beat him with his budget Bogles deck round one. He kept saying “that’s not real magic” and promptly left. Mind you, he was playing Hogaak...
Love your videos Nikachu and your personality, I might pick up MTG again on mobile just for laughs, hell I might even end up on one of your vids lol
😂
My first experience with mtgo I wanted to playtest an 8 Rack deck so I spent 20 dollars on a very budget list. I recieved death threats in my first game so I went ahead and bought the fully fleshed out paper deck! Definitely the way to go for playtesting, the threats and profanity are pretty much the green light for me to go through with a paper magic purchase, so far I've used that method 3 times and now I have 3 very annoying Modern decks. Thanks guys! :D
The best salt mine is a friend of mine I've known for almost 15 years. Often when we play he goes "You always have the perfect answer for everything, I can't believe it! You always win!" and then I "Once or twice is luck, then it becomes statistics ;)". He rages even more and I cry from laughter. Love him nonetheless lol
This is why I play with the chat box muted at all times during leagues or prelims or challenges
Please continue this series!!!
The salt is hillarious
Loving the salt mining. This was hilarious
Thanks for the funny content. I needed a laugh.
We put wins and losses on the dry erase board and re start at the end of the month lol
I needed this.
Never watched one of these videos until tonight. Freaking hilarious!!!! Cant stop laughing!!
I played my Cromat Maze's End deck earlier today and had a guy told me that my deck was going to get me blocked because my deck worked faster than their mono-red deck. The best part is that I played Tempt with Discovery in the game and they fetched a land knowing I had Maze's End ON THE FIELD!!! It was extremely satisfying popping my Maze's End to win.
what does your opponent fetching a land have to do with maze's end?
“You’re such a luck box omg “ people at the poker table when they lose lol
Please make this a series.
Back in the day when MTGO first came out and for many years after we actually had a chat bar on the side where we could just talk to each other all day. There was MTGOMods that would watch over it and believe it or not it was really fun and cool. There was also a feature where you could just make your own chat room and invite people into it.We mostly used that to live auction off cards another really fun thing that I miss.I have been on both sides of these kinds of chats though over the many years I have played MTGO on and off.Sadly MTGO is pretty much dead now and it is hard to even find a game let alone people to argue with.
The worst about the guy who couldn't keep score is using the name Melkor... which is Morgorth's original name in LoTR universe.
1:31 Homeboy raged that his opponent didn't netdeck sufficiently _enough_ lol
Just can't make everyone happy out there :P
Lol Pony Energy! Killing it, fish man!
*wipes sweat of brow* just another day in the mines
I never played on Arena, but always enjoyed playing standard at my LGS. 90% of the time people were super chill, but every once in a while someone gets super salty when losing to the ridiculous jank I'd run.
I remember when i played modern on modo just after uro ban and cascade rules changes and everyone i talked to in chat was just celebrating!
Biggest mistake of all time was banning Uro
@@a_fuckin_spacemarine7514 Still keeping your dream alive I see 😂
@@RandomCommenter955 Always.
@@a_fuckin_spacemarine7514 you got counterspell coming, I don’t want to even hear it 😂( not to mention prismari command and expressive iteration out of strixhaven ) there’s probably more I’m missing out new set but you get the point
@@jtyree0226 what?! Counterspell?? You mean that card that should've been legal form the start of the format?! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
As for the other two, well...... THEY'RE NOT MODERN PLAYABLE!
imagine playing MTGO with the chat open
My friend didn't keep questionable records, but what he did do was make decks that counteracted your deck. So every time we played, he would ask what deck we were playing before he picked his.
One time he got super salty was when he swung for lethal, and his opponent flashbacked Prismatic Strands and prevented all the damage. He looked at the card, got angry and just conceded. (Then would say my friend never beat him because it was a concession, not a defeat)
Early 2000's home games were cut throat!
When people call me lucky... I just give a little glare and say... "Believe in the heart of the cards, my boi."
Sometimes i loved when your opponent say GL before is killed in turn three-two.
i created a bolas planes walk deck. its just printed. played with just friend to try if its good. well its so op. the counter and discard really dominate the game
I actually never even use the chat box because I know I will run across this. Just tune it out and play some crisp magic.
Nikachu this is fun content. Hope this makes a cut at least as some filler content in the future.
In the words of lord Nux “ be toxic to toxic people”
Next 👏🏾 Flex 👏🏾
I was just thinking I was missing my daily sodium. Thanks for looking out for us Nikachu 🙃
The mtgo prime was hilarious.
SALT EVERYWHERE!
Love the channel keep up the great work!
First:)
I wonder if Cube and fan formats are something of a salt antidote- I’ve played more than 700 matches all told and had one salty opponent among them compared to countless people who actually used the chat to make both of us have a better experience. I’ve been super happy with the chat overall, and it seems strange to me how little salt I face compared to how much of a salt mine I see people say MTGO is.
I guess people have different expectations in constructed formats
They dont print counterspell, and yet, they print at least 2 other counter spells every set...
Where is elfkid?!! Never go full elfkid
I need more of these videos in my life, please make more 😂🤣🤣
The saltiness in the chat 🧂🧂🧂🧂
Searchable known entity sounds like government mumbo jumbo.
I was playing once and randomly was talking to a guy and it turned out we go to university’s that are right next to each other
The funniest ones are the logs from xmage with DesolatorMagic...
Des is such an awful person. It’s fucking gold even though it’s so sad
@@klutzmtg2310 agreed. i really hate the way he makes fun of names that aren't american. can be kinda racist if you ask me. he's got some great videos tho
Well, noone can contest what you said about flooding and manaless dredge
MTGA needs a bag of fortunes emote
We're gonna put our decks in same color boxes and spin them on a lazy Susan then pick one and see what happens should be good
I'm a big salty boy when I play magic online but I keep it to my self and whoever might be in the same building as me.
In pauper I played a turbo fog deck and my opponent wrote to me:
'' It's not because it is a legal/working deck that you should play it. Fucking uninstall the game!''
ROFL
MANALESS DREDGE SHOUTOUT! That's what I'm talking about!
sneaky helmuth reference
One thing that I've tried to do within the last year in an effort to become a less toxic gamer is try to always acknowledge when I get lucky. I find that it makes people shut the fuck up about your good luck if you just address it first. Probably less true around people like this tbf.
Best part about watching this... At the end UA-cam suggest everything salt related. Saltine crackers, low sodium diet, etc. I just thought that maybe they missed the point.🤷
Thanks for letting me know! That’s not good for me 😅
Good ol' times when card games were made with chat. Sadly, the words are being taken away...
Gawd i wish MTG arena had a chat option.
wow, I miss the paper tournaments so much. Back in the late 90s and first 2000s we had so many fights about rules!!all tournaments had beefs. And Cockatrice. Those were dialectic fights!!
I think it was called Apprentice back then. Cockatrice came way later.
@@NikachuMTG yeah! I remember when Modo started and regular paper players said "wait, you have to pay and they dont send you the card home???", so free alternatives were op atm
Is that A Hat In Time music at 2:35 Nikachu :o
I don’t know to be honest.
This is the best thing ever
Joke's on you all my opponents have mtgo prime
These chat logs have all the energy of a bunch of 6-year-olds arguing in the school playground at lunchtime, but without the excuse of actually being in kindergarten or under the age of ten.... smh.
I’m a cry baby for those people that manage to have like 3 bolts or 3 pushes or 3 paths in their first 10 cards of the game lol. I moved to MTGO cuz I got sick of the shuffler giving my opponent 3 bonecrusher giants in their opening hand. At least MTGO’s algorithm is fair. Screws me over just as much as the opponent. Lol
this is the reason why there is no chat in arena
Does MTGO prime fix the thoughtseize bug too?
Players are even worse outside of leagues, they get mad at everyone for "net-decking" or "playing a braindead/overpowered deck". One person got angry at me for playing a zombie hunt deck with almost all basic lands.
Lol, gotta love Zombie Hunt.
I need the H0lydiver's hollow vine decklist so bad
and this is why Pokemon tcgonline doesn;t have a chat box
To be fair, sometimes u get super un-lucky and seemly sacked. I had a game last night i kept a 4 land hand with 1 of them creature lands. And by the time i was 14 cards into my deck i had seen 11 of my 19 lands. Was i salty? Yes, yes i was because thats like under 1% to happen, but i wasnt all up in chat.
At 6:04, this is probably the type of person I'd really set off. I am a huge counterspell "gamer" in MTG. "Dodge & Burn/Counterburn" is probably my favorite archetype/deck strategy in all of MTG, and I'm a Bant/Temur player, 😆. I'd feel sorry for and laugh at the person blowing up at counterspells, at least privately in my head.
These people were never taught sportsmanship when they were children
Must have MOAR SALT!!!!
I can actually relate with those who are bored by overused combos. Luckily, I play arena and I simply quit the game as soon as I realize what deck is my opponent playing. Am I going to have fun playing mtg against that deck or not? If not, take the win and see you next time ;-)
Is drawing cards not a repeatable effect?
ah yes MTGO chat , the reason there is no chat on Arena
Incredible
Hey net decking is great for competitive , counters decking is great for getting urself called names
why does he need to know what your deck does to move to the next game?
It is prophesied that Melkor8 shall return in one final battle - Where he will lose and good will triumph!
I love when people get overly salty about luck in a CARD GAME.
Like. If you wanted to play a game where skill is the only thing that matters, play chess. But you signed up for a card game. Even the best players in the world lose something like a third of their matches, or more, over their careers. So like. If randomness/luck/bad luck tilt you that much, maybe don't play a game that has randomness as such a crucial element?
Just assuming pp is player points, and not the player saying they have to use the potty. Bold assumption, my friend.
In Limited last night I drew 15 of 16 lands in first 21 cards 😂😂😂
Hopefully you didn’t flip the table 😅
@@NikachuMTG I still almost won.. I had 4 organ hoarders and played 3 of them putting 5 of the lands in the graveyard.. I lost to a top decked 4/3 haste red werewolf when my opponent had 2 life and I had a Vampire Interloper that couldn’t be blocked next turn.. It ‘‘twas mildly infuriating 😭
Nikachu looking really handsome in this video
I faced a deck full of counter spells before! I got chat banned for 15days :(
if someone wants to see more funny mtgo salt i recommend searching for "ral salt storm". there is a hilarious streamclip from mtggoldfish
