From Denise Johnson to Diane Charlemagne 2 Two 2 Manchester women who put the Soul 🎶 Music from the City on the Worldwide map so R.I.P still to the both of them they may be gone but not forgotten and that's Manchester for ya we pay respects and never forget.
One of my favourite flavour's of the late 80's. She also recorded 'Don't fight it feel it' with Primal scream. Her voice is sweet and so suitably suited to these songs. RIP Denise 😢 your voice will live on forevermore
Denise died today, 27th July 2020. She was only 53 years old. It was a sudden death, after just a week of feeling unwell. She was found, with her inhaler, in her hand. I only came here to hear her voice. I had never heard of her. She seemed like a very popular lady. Rest in peace, Denise.
All Man Denise passed.Rest Easy Queen 👸🏾.I've been searching this Tune for a few Year's.This always been a pretty Groove right here.Claasic Jam for sure.
What a tune, the day I first heard this it got scooped up straight away. I used to play this on the radio loads of times back in the day. They don't make these types of tunes anymore. Such a shame, proud to be British.
An absolute masterpiece beautifully put together beautifully sang. All the instruments were spot on, they really don't make them like this anymore. The world was a different place when this was made , unlike todays music is a representation of the times we are in unfortunately. People are very cold and loveless like they have no soul.
This song was released when I was 10. I’m 44 now & it’s just a beautiful as ever. I fell in love with the re-make by Silhouette Brown. This has been an amazing find! 💕
Only just discovered this track after listening to Lynda Dawn's cover Move. This version is soon to be available for download on eye choons - part of a compilation called Rainer Trueby Presents Soulgliding, just in case anybody is interested.
Much like Diane Charlemagne, Denise Johnson was one of the voices of contemporary R&B music in the mid-late 80s in the UK, especially in Manchester, and taken away far too soon. I hate this world for killing innocent people in their prime.
R.I.P Such a sad loss to the music scene. Beautiful voice & talent. My favourite will always be, "Just A Little More". First heard it played on a pirate radio station when I lived in Hulme . I tried all the regular record shops (Virgin, Our Price Records, HMV Spin Inn etc) but couldn't get it (no internet then!) Eventually, got it on 12". (Think my sister bought it for me for my birthday) I still have it and would never part with it - even though I don't have a record player anymore! R.I.P. Denise Johnson a beautiful woman taken too soon. xxx
A great track a blast from the past. a soul group from out of the UK Manchester in the mid to early eighties called fifth of heaven with this killer track just a little more witch has never dated but just up until recent as (2018) a singer by the name of (Lynda Dawn) covered the track with the same baseline called Move, a fantastic cover but I have also found out also when you go onto google to hear the original track you should also tap in who Sampled as I have found the different versions of this but there is only one I don't like as it seems like it has been slowed down.
Top tune, I'm lucky to own a copy of this, bought in M'cr when released along with the other one (without You_ One of em signed too! (Won on a Stu Allan Soul Show :) )
Stu Allan. Blimey, I used to stay up to listen to Souled Out and the Houde Hour back in the late 80s. Still have the tapes, and will digitise them for SoundCloud soon.
@@eleven.29 "Simply great. Pure classic, one of the best funk-soul that ever came from UK. I used to hear it a lot in my childhood down here in Rio. "
@@eleven.29 I didn't put in English because this song was quite popular on the Brazilian black scene (called Charme or Charm here) and so there are lots of Brazilians (mainly from Rio and São Paulo) who comment on these videos.
Move by Lynda Dawn brought me here.
