Dairy farmers use the same type of system. A methane digester. Heats the manure to use the methane to power a generator you can run the farm or some were selling power back to the electric company. Hope it all works to your favor. Good luck
Cool. I was wondering when this was going down. I am excited to see this happen. Manure has been a huge problem for all farmers for decades. Best wishes.
I work for Cargill and in big wig meetings (C-Suite) they're always talking about how farmers need to be more efficient and lean in order to not go out of business when the average consumer is after the bottom dollar product. Glad to hear you guys are taking that initiative. It's tough out there for everyone, Stay safe!
@@johnqcitizen9177 Not really, Cargill is just a distributor. We don't set the prices at the grocery store. We just buy animals, process them according to the grocery store's order and then they jack up the prices for the consumer who wants the lowest prices. We have employees to pay, operations to manage, and contracts to fulfill. We're beholden to the market and the cost of goods and services just as you are.
Are you guys planning to do something like Midwestern BioAg and pelletize it? I did look into some pelletized dairy manure stuff for my food plots. If it was closer to GA, I would have loved it!
I am sure someone has asked this before, but when you are sending out overstock, do you sort out certain sizes of pigs to send to the next finisher? Good Luck on this new journey.
God bless. I would think the cheapest way to deal with this is to do what municipality does. Cement pool to dry thin layers, and when dry bulldoze it out. Although it's painful to see all that gas go to waste. Did you consider producing gas as byproduct, there is a company which makes the apparatus for that.
Kinda simular system we dairyfarmers overhere in the netherlands use, we also separate the water from the manure and use it for different things ,boxbedding in the freestall or ship it out, the thin fraction we use as fertilizer on the fields ,i think you guys are on the whright way ,stay safe you all greetings from a Dutch dairyfarmer
I have a question, if I may: We have Dutch ancestry. When I was young, my dad used a wooden folding ruler when he was doing carpentry work. We called it a back own (typed phonetically). I have tried to figure out if back own was actually Dutch using google translate with no success. Any help is appreciated. :)
@misterv4462. The name your are looking for is called a duimstok! Direct translation to english is called a thumbstik, it is still used in construction today. I love them and always use them. Cheers
@@wilco692 Thank you for your response. I have one of those, but don't use it a lot. A person has a natural inclination to fold it back up after every measurement. Probably, if I left it unfolded until I was done with it, it would be more enjoyable to use. I imagine there are a lot of handy tricks to using one that I have never learned. Have a great day!! :)
Don’t over think it it never works you have made a profit for many years and act like you have nothing just another typical farmer be proud of the money you make you own your own business great job
Will the age of the pigs affect the slurry/sludge factor and will the system be able to flex depending on which barn the manure is piped from with different age pigs in each barn potentially.
You're crazy. 😵💫 Is there enough methane in hog manure to be flammable? A sealed digester pit to capture off gasses and run an old V8 engine on a genset. Maybe run a heater or something. There's a dairy in the UK that uses that type of system, powers the whole farm. Nice edit, thanks for sharing. -EZ
There's methane available, but it's "dirty" methane, and needs a scrubber to be used in a combustion engine to generate electricity. It's not a big deal, but it can't be used straight from the digester. IF all of their facilities were in one place, they could probably generate quite a bit of power with a single digester.
We have been separating our manure for over 25 years. It’s a pain in the ass if you don’t do it right, also your bio security is shit. You need to do way better and you’ll know better.
It must include a methane separator to a bio fuel electric genset. Plant hemp for feed, bio fuel and fibre. Promote hemp lego building blocks. 25# R35, fire, mold, bug proof. each 40ft container sequesters 6 tons on CO2. distribute from storla. Make a freezer. Dry age room
Well they put on to much in California that why every time your trun around it a recall because of cow shit contamination to some vegetables .point blank i call it like it is . I hope yal stay in the recommended guidelines per acer. Good video yal stay safe
Be proud of that truck tork it's a sweet ride!!. I'd drive that around town with no problem. It's all about smiles per gallon !!!

Crop farms would love to be able to spread manure on their fields.
Plus, your neighbors will love you!
Can't wait to see the construction and process.
Definitely will along for the adventure
This will be interesting to follow you on this.
Right on Fellas!
Go for it!

Then they will raise the price of fertilizer and you will be back to square one. It’s called a ⭕️ jerk.
Nothing like a good video about a poop dryer
25 years ago gilts and barrows were fed separately. They were fed different rations. Is that no longer the case?
It's a fascinating project!!🐷

carbon credits can disappear with the stroke of a politicians pen.
Could you imagine being the UPS guy that drops that bucket?
Hello, how are you doing today ?
I am sure someone has asked this before, but when you are sending out overstock, do you sort out certain sizes of pigs to send to the next finisher? Good Luck on this new journey.
Several hog farms and dairies around here run their manure through center pivots irrigating their corn or soybeans.

Is there a difference in the overall health of the pigs you get during the year? For example, are summer piglets healthier than winter piglets?
On average now many died stock do you from start to finish?
Holy shit!
