  • I do not own this clip. I am sharing it to promote the wonderful documentary about Klaus Voormann. This clip is from the SPECTACULAR documentary ALL YOU NEED IS KLAUS, now available on REGION 2 DVD!
Producer, Director, Writer: Jörg Bundschuh (concept), Cinematography: Roland Wagner. In this clip, Klaus comes to visit Carly and the two legends meet again for the first time since the 1970s. The documentary is centered around the recording of his solo album 'Voormann & Friends: A Sideman's Journey.' The doc. is quite entertaining, insightful, and touching. It is TRULY a GEM! As a fellow bassist who began playing in the late-‘60s, Voormann was a name who just floated thru the industry, playing on “A” list projects, like a warm spiritual breeze. I was also a radio dj for years and always regarded him as the “perfect sideman,” always quietly adding his spice to the audio mix, improving each song he worked on and never jumping into the limelight to try and overshadow the main artist. Much respect to his playing and to his visual art.

It’s great to a see a reunion and she really appreciates him. I get why it’s painful for him because he knew John, George and Astrid so now he feels the loss and that’s hard to take. I’m sure he misses them all now, too.
But Carly is very friendly and kind towards him so it’s good they got together again to see each other and play again.
Klaus has led a wonderful life and I like his bass playing. He got along with everyone. 👏🏻😊

The last minute of this video segment is so moving, hearing Klaus speak of the past and his friends from that amazing period in his life. At 8:40 and on, seeing him in the closeup you really get a sense of what a beautiful man he is inside and out. //. For those who love Klaus as much as I do, you should look for the photograph of him as a young boy (between 5 and 7?) leaning into his mother. From their expressions what is obvious is that his was a childhood filled with great love.

Mick Jagger and Paul McCartney met long before Carly Simon. Back in 1963 when The Beatles went to see the Stones in a London club where Lennon/McCartney sat down on the spot, wrote and gave the Stones their 1st hit single in UK called “I Want To Be Your Man” (later sung by Ringo on a Beatle album).
I can only assume Carly meant be meet that She was referring to that session.

She is full of baloney. "Your so Vain" was released in 1972. MaCartney and Jagger knew each other since 1963. Hell, the Beatles gave "I want to be you Man" to the Stones to record it first in 1964 - 65? Those 2 (McCartney and Jagger) knew each other 10 years before the session she was talking about.
