The Last 10 Minutes of Need For Speed: World Online [720p60]

- This video is as the title states, gameplay from NFS World Online, from 15:50 in-game time to 16:00 in-game time, Tuesday July 14th, 2015, or simply, the last 10 minutes that NFS World's servers were online. As stated in the video, I am going to miss World Online, even though we have Offline. I've spent countless hours on this game, my experience filled with meeting new people (and building friendships), partaking in particularly illicit affairs (i.e. using hacks. Sue me.), competing in events (but losing the majority of them, not to mention), performing different glitches and tricks, but overall, having fun with the game regardless of how many times I may say I hate it. Even losing my primary driver wasn't enough to drive me away, and in the end, I don't regret any of my actions nor would I trade my experience with World for anything. Need For Speed World, you're not perfect, far from it truth be told, but you will be missed (at least until online-play for NFS World Offline arrives). RIP.
It is advised that you watch in 720p60 HD for optimal viewer experience, that and 60 FPS videos played at 30 FPS look like shit

Watching this is like hanging out for the last time with your friend who's dying. You both know he's not going to make it, but you're both happy together in bittersweet solidarity that you've both come to accept because you want to make the most of your time, even though you know he doesn't have enough time to do much of anything. You want to see the world with together, but instead you resort to visiting a few favorite places, take a few pictures, say a few choice words, and wait in peaceful but painful silence with your friend. You don't know what to say, and neither does your friend. Maybe it's better that way, because at least you won't risk breaking down crying and making your friend scared in his final moments.
You sit next to him and smile. You don't want to smile, but it feels like that's all you can do. If you don't smile then you're going to cry, and if you cry then your friend is definitely going to tease you. There's a quiet countdown; not one that you can hear, but one that you can feel. Every second of silence makes the countdown louder, and in your desperation to hold onto him for just a second longer, you do what you don't normally do in front of anyone: You cry. You grab your friends hand and pull it to your face, pressing his palm against your forehead to remind yourself that he's still there. You don't want to cry, but no matter how much you smiled your heart just hurt more and more.
You can barely form words. You attempt to beg him not to leave by squeezing his hand tighter and pressing it harder against your head, trying desperately to tell him words that you've always been too scared to say out loud. He's just as scared as you are. You can feel it in the way his fingers tremble and see it as his mouth quivers. You want to tell him how great of a person he is, how much you look up to him, how he's been the best person in your life for so long, how you've valued your time together every day and placed your friendship on a pedestal higher than anything else in your life.
Nothing manages to come out except squeaky strangled cries of, "I'm gonna miss you," and "I love you so much." Your friend starts to cry too and you're almost comforted in how human it is to see him share the same emotions as you.
You babble on for another few minutes, pouring as many compliments and memories into you the air as you can manage so your friend can pass on knowing just how great he is. Eventually you run out of things to say, but the tears still keep slipping so you go back to silence. Not total silence, of course, no matter how quiet you try to make your sniffling. You didn't realize, but during your talking your friend closed his eyes and decided to just listen. That's okay. He doesn't need to talk.
You watch him for a little while. His eyes closed and looking so peaceful. You can't tell if he's already dead or if he's getting there, but that's okay too. You're both tired and you need to rest. A little bit calmer now, after you've cried too many tears, you say one last thing that you hope he hears,
"Goodbye, buddy."

I played the game for 4 years, every each day I enjoyed myself and I was never bored. People were always complaining about p2w, the game not being updated for 2 years ect ect, but still they loved it till the end. I've literally teared when that Error code 7 message popped up. Thanks to the soapbox world team we can enjoy the game again even with an average of a 150 players. NFSW will never die until we say so

Thanks for capturing this. NFS World and Rigs of Rods were the first real online game experiences I had. I played both for years and still have RoR somewhere. I was actually crushed when I heard NFSW was shut down and I wasn't around to attend its last moments.

Imho the biggest mistake EA has ever done was kill NFS World. It would’ve been one of the biggest games in the world today, it has no equal. Too bad they never had vision for the future.

Right now the best server is NightRiderz, you just need to select the server from the serverlist and register an account.
I've also prepared an installation guide if there are difficulties.
