Someone can watch all day,it's hands on thats a different animal..paint isn't paint, just like the other materials it takes to get a high end quality paint job! I think my hard earned money,7 years of overtime and parts saving and just have kcspaintshop do it right the first time!!! It's like you take the family car down for exhaust work and the welds look like chewed bubble gum!!! Or you take your car to a local collision shop and you can see sand scratches, clips or screws missing just half assed butchered work! ONE DAY I WILL MAKE KCSPAINTSHOP WAITING LIST!!!!

When the hood was hosed off at the end and the panels were wet it looked like a nice paint job. I wouldn't do this but could a person clear coat what's on there now and call it a day

Js S the black primer would fade pretty fast even with a good clear coat cuz the primer wasn't made with uv protection type stuff in its pigments

Like the ideal of having a section to show the customer what he is getting. Hard to tell on just a spray out on a flat panel and how it will react on curves and body lines.

Dang people, lighten up.. If they want to take fifteen minutes to Scotchbrite a clip, let 'em. They're actually showing you what goes into that in real time. If you're only watching to learn technique, go somewhere else where there's no personality. This is the best of both worlds. And like they said, it's on the fly and it aint scripted. Just the way it should be.

Agreed. I'm painting my own work car right now. Door dings, scratches, dead clear on the roof, new bumper cover, etc... haven't even turned on my compressor yet. The entire body is 600 wet, with a few drops of Dawn detergent in my water. Zero contaminants on the surface and no DA butcher marks to deal with later. Patience makes a flawless body.

Hey did you guys ever do a "how to on a painted surface" ? There are a few videos out there but I feel they are either co pletely over kill for what I'm doing or just shit advice. I'm painting a 93 calypso fox. No rust but, it has some chips and a few dings here and there. The worst part is where the 2 inch hood flew up and smashed the cowl and roof but, I am almost finished with that night mare. I peeled the cowl off and welded anothe on it. I'm going to use just a simle single stage. Want to do black but, I realise black is a lot more unforgiving than others.
