  • Mr. Freddie Munoz is the nephew of a Korean War fallen hero, who is still Missing in Action from the Korean War. This is a video of his speech at the POW/MIA Remembrance Ceremony hosted by the VFW of California on the USS Midway on September 17, 2022. In this speech, Mr. Munoz speaks about his uncle, Private George Segura, who is still Missing in Action (MIA) from the Korean War. Private George Peter Segura entered the U.S. Army from Arizona and was a member of B Company, 1st Battalion, 29th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. On July 27, 1950, he was captured while fighting the enemy near Hadong and was marched north as a prisoner of war (POW). At Seoul, his name appeared on a blackboard in a school house where POWs were held during September 1950. He continued in a forced march north and was among a group stopped at the Sunchon railroad tunnel, north of P'yöngyang, where he was killed by his the North Korean communists on October 20, 1950. This video is posted in honor and in remembrance of him and the over 7,500 Americans who are still Missing in Action (MIA) from the Korean War. They will never be forgotten.
