My Solex carb was the same, no diffuser but i believe that they were optional. I got a diffuser, but my engines in bits with my jeep genie so i haven't been able to check the studs yet, although i did think they may be too short, so I'll follow your progress on this 😉

Solex diffusers are the one that was in place when I put a solex on my jeep I used the carter diffuser

Well It looks like I had no diffuser at all!

What you should do is take Pcv valve off and clean it out

That is on my list of things to do mate as I know they can be a pain in the arse. I will probably get the new carb on and running then take a look at the valve :D
