  • These are crazy good for developing power and endurance in the upper body while working your cardio capacity.
So instead of using ropes, I've got a pair of 40 lb auto tow chains (that I got at Home Depot) attached to a heavy sandbag as an anchor.
I'm doing this in the sand of a volleyball court to reduce the impact on the shoulders, but it could also be done on grass. Using chains on a hard floor is going to be tougher on the shoulders, noisy and will likely damage the floor.
Then just do the same types of stuff you'd do with ropes...waves, double slams, rotations, that kind of thing.
Ropes are a challenge...using chains is just awesome.
Works great for high intensity interval training. I like to alternate these with sprints in the sand.
I'm not using any special handles...just holding on the hooks on the ends of the chains.
This is the kind of stuff you'll find in my Metabolic Monsters book (75 metabolic conditioning workouts to build athletic strength, power and endurance while getting ripped).
    .
I've got this book on sale, along with 3 of my other fat-loss books right now for just 20 bucks (til midnight on Thursday, May 16th).

Been using chains this way for more than a decade. Neighbors think I'm insane but they accept it now. Thanks for posting this video.👍

When the neighbors think you're nuts, it means you're doing it right!
