I heard this on "Jimmy Mack's Old Gold" on Radio Scotland about 25 years ago. It was a request from someone who remembered it playing incessantly on a juke box 20 years before that. Anyway I taped it and used to play it to relax and get to sleep the night before exams. I never knew the song's name or heard it again. But a bit of searching on the internet and eureka! Thanks very much.
always liked this song..first heard it when I went to work with my dad who was an radio engineer and I spent my time with the DJ's of the staff....eventually got the station's copy after they discontinued playing it......nice melody...thank you
Thank you for posting this in stereo! I knew it had to exist, but the stereo mix has been impossible to find - until now. What a zen-simple and beautiful song! (And if you like this, find their follow-ip, "Blue Rain" - sort of this song re-written sideways, and also gorgeous.)
I first heard this song on Hy Lit's Top 20 Countdown on WOGL here in Philly back in November of 1992. I have never even heard of this song before. It sounds just like a TV show theme
The Islanders were an instrumental duo consisting of Frank Metis of Germany and Randy Starr of New York City. This was popular in the autumn of 1959, and Martin Denny covered the song as a follow-up to his "Quiet Village" hit.
Without postings like this, so many songs would be pretty much lost to the ages. Thank you so much.

Fantastic video. I've been looking for this record for years. All I could find was Martin Denny. Thanks for posting!
