I think part of the reason snake-like MOCs aren't as common as they could be is because they're kind of hard to make look interesting. As serpents, it's pretty easy to fall into repetition when building a body.
Fun fact, I snatched up a huge portion of those skrall peices, and I found out from eclipse caller later that I had grabbed THE ENTIRE north American brick bricklink stock and he tells me "I wondered why I couldn't find any of that piece"
"There's some weirdass fish!" And that's coming from a guy that lives in Australia where mammals lay eggs and look like the blueprints for all the animals were cut up, shuffled, and taped back together.
Hey Ben, I was wondering how you pick the Mocs. Do you like find the best Mocs possible or do you try to go through as many as you can, oh and when do you usually pick them is it just before the video or like 2 or 3 days before the video?
In regards to Fan Submitted MOC episodes, I will randomly look through the emails and just pick 10 that I have something I feel I can discuss at that moment. The 'I feel I can talk about it' factor varies from time to time. I also always aim to pick a wide variety or skill levels and recently I'm priorities names and people I've never heard of or featured before, so that everyone gets a go. For general episodes, I get the theme first then I browse Flickr for stuff I feel I can talk about and I pick out anything that fits the theme in my emails. I'll happy review whatever I can, so long as it fits in that 20-30 min episode mark, I like doing about 8-10 an episodes... sometimes 10 can be too much though tbh, depends on what I'm saying. I normally pick just before I record, sometimes I pick in advance if it's a theme I've been thinking about doing for a bit, or I have an earlier idea.
Love these, Ben. Nice showcase. If I can ask, what are your plans on how to navigate COPPA? Just auto-set everything as child-friendly content? This one had an Ad... so I was curious.
"Evil Witch, Evil Shaman" Ben, sorry, but we're not evil. We're peacekeepers. We're just on the losing side of history. I'd be more than happy to help you understand us outside of the stereotyping that's been plaguing Earth since Catholicism started.
With Witches: Witches are... In a blatant sense, priests to themselves. We celebrate seasons, and well being. There are different types of witches based on their individual beliefs. Fairy witches, kitchen witches, hedge witches, etc; While some love to tease, we aren't evil. Witches were victims to Catholics and Christians who hated them for a multitude of reasons. Going so far as to even cause the Black Plague because they hated witches having pet cats. The stereotypical clothing for Witches originates actually from Jewish clothing that Protestant (Christian) communities. That's also why the stereotype for witches is to have a big nose. In fact, almost no Pagans were actually harmed in Witch Hunts, by the time they started most Pagans were either in hiding or routed out of Homeland. The majority of deaths caused during that time were Jewish. Yet the swastika is demonized and the cross is not, funny how double standards work. The green skin from witches is argued to come from two sources. However it is commonplace thanks to Wizard of Oz. It can be considered the religious version of blackface. Also no, we don't eat children. As with Shamans, shamans are spiritualists, we study the universe through the metaphysical, and apply our knowledge aid others. A majority of shamanic practices are pure and good. However, shamanism is the very first spirituality to exist, being as old as the human race itself. At a time where there wasn't even a written language, some practices would get askewed as civilization branched out. Another double standard is seeing one bad shaman as all bad shamans, yet seeing one bad priest and just one bad priest. Are you seeing a pattern? It doesn't help that two of our symbols were stolen by hate groups and they now get plastered as symbols of evil intent. I'd write more but my tablet is lagging from writing too much, so I'll end it here for now. I'd love to talk to you more about this, Ben Cossy.
@@carumsarene thats really cool. tho getting back at the video the ''Skeksis'' are basically evil ''mages'' or ''shamans'' and the one built did have the evil aesthetic so i would say that Ben said the right thing. :D

Ben Cossy when you start recording how long does it take you before uploading?
@@safwataldajani7115 I often record in advance, that's a hard question to answer. The times always vary.
So, out of curiosity, how could I submit a MOC of my own?
Ben: Hakann
Random Person: It's got a silent W in it
Me: Hwakann
Is that the dark crystal
