Seriously, the castable flies are a very viable lure segment! Think of it as a finesse style of lure that will cover water quickly!

Did you get the girth measurement for Muskies Canada? I just use a small piece of rope or string and wrap it around the fish while in the net. Pinch my finger where on the string where it meets itself then measure that on the bump board (or your stick).
good idea, I didn't even realize that we needed a girth for muskies canada, we will girth the larger fish, but these small ones we will take a best guess on them, to limit the handling. Appreciate the tip, and thanks for watching!
You got a bunch of large crank baits. I can't imagine not using them while trolling in and out of picked locations over deeper water. On completely slow days ...troll on your way back into the landing.
We did a trolling run on opener but we were not seeing bait over deep break lines. But you'll see more of us trolling this season!

I have a feeling its going to be a great year! This high water has been great so far. I got a muskie on opener from a canoe in Big Vermillion near Sioux, not a giant, just a solid 3 footer. But any muskie is a good muskie, especially when I need to drive 2+ hours to get to a musky lake. Cheers

We’re one of the shield lakes up here in sunset county, we’ve had close to 30 follows in 4 days. Any advice on how to convert more of these fish, we’ve thrown all sorts of different baits
Stay off the spots until peak moon phase or in front of weather. Vary the lures each time you approach the spots. Don't pound on them, make a pasd and come back on the next moon or Sun event.

We try not to name lakes when we are fishing on them, but we are going to cover all the lakes in the area in some special segments this season!

Appreciate the support! I have never fished Nipp so I can't be of much help there. For me, I would start with the most obvious looking spots and use my most confidence inspiring baits to start with. Find fish and work out from there.

We are fortunate, and this year it feels like cursed, we just can't get a handle on these fish for the first time in over a decade we are really struggling.

I love the floating ruler you guys got. The data is great for Muskies Canada for sure. We all love a good musky pic but we love a quick release better and a water measure is a great compromise. Keep up the good work and can’t wait to see what else you guys have in store this year.
We figure it's easier to get a quick measure on these fish with the stick. It's not exact but close enough and saves handling time! Appreciate you watching!
How heavy is your jig lure? I ask because you mention using a lighter action rod to throw it.
Do you have a public mailing address?
I'll put it on the scale, but a little action rod for castable flies helps with the lighter weight for casting and helps add some more action to it!
@54orbust I'll make it easier, can you throw it with your typical small bucktail rod?

I hope I never lose my Grabb It or god forbid it ever breaks. I should've bought 2 years back. That 1 tool has come in so useful and I'm hard pressed to think of a release tool that even compares unless we're talking Knipex ops

I agree! An important tool to have in the boat! And they used to be so cheap to buy!
