  • After the cessation of his recording contract with Decca at the close of 1930, Jack Harris who ran the dance orchestra at The Hotel Grosvenor in London, started recording for Vocalion's red label Broadcast Twelve for approximately a year from May 1931 to May 1932. During this period some 42 tracks were recorded producing 21 releases, all with vocals by Harry Bentley. The first release coupled "You didn't have to tell me" with "I miss a little miss", which, as with all these issues, produced performances delivered with panache and a great sense of drive. Some of Jack Harrris's Broadcast recordings are already available on You Tube but not this one I believe, hope you will enjoy it.
