- Drivelapse video of Ontario's Highway 417 starting in rush hour traffic in the Ottawa suburb of St-Laurent, and heading westerly along Highway 417 through Ottawa, Kanata, and Arnprior onto Highway 17 in McNab/Braeside, through the new interchange with Highway 508 (Calabogie Road), and then finishing at the Bruce Street intersection on the Renfrew By-pass.
Very nice, the fall colours and scenery look great!

Wonder when they will follow through on that 417 expansion to Renfrew. That route is starting to get crowded as more popular moves into those regions.

We drove on Oct 4, 1989 hwy 17 from S.S.Marie to Algoma in the dark. Didn't know its where the Edmond Fitzgerald sank today 11/10/75 at 7:10pm

I was surprised to see a temporary RIRO super two interchange at Calabogie Road. I don't know if that's been done before in Ontario.
It's a rough in for the four laning. Allows MTO to build the Parclos very easily without having to do complex bridge placement.
Great drive! When does the private toll section concessions on Ontario Highway 407 in Canada expire assuming they don't extend it?

Two way roads should at least have very wide shoulders and should be much wider.

Sure wish hwy 17 was fully twined. Embrassing when the one hwy that goes from coast to coast isn't fully twined in the 21st century. A joke really ....
After the 3 San Diego/Los Angeles aeras videos, it's cool to see something different this time, a video from Ottawa. I also really like the music choices as well, I think they fit well with a Fall morning drive. Honestly Ottawa/Gatineau is not too bad with traffic on rush-hour. In several other places in North America, it's definitely much worse! Some examples, Los Angeles, Seattle, & Certainly, New York city! I'm pretty familiar with NYC's highways, honestly. However, I'm gonna talk about those more deeply on a future video.
Also, did you hear that the first 22km of Quebec Route 389's realignment has just been completed. Not only that, the southern end of the road has been shifted away to around 4 km westerly. Several exeeding zones has been added & the track is now around 2km shorter. Over the course of the upcoming years, the route is also planned to be completely paved & several sections are set to be relocated aswell.
I was aware of the realignment of 389. Seems like a large project. I think some of the highway is being realigned as part of a mine expansion. Thanks for the comment.
