I personally liked the idea character variations in db games. Goku (Mid) need I say more
METEOR COMBINATION is what makes that variation special. Same can be said for the Kaioken attack from Goku(Early) and Meteor Smash from base form Goku(End). Variations are necessary in Tenkiachi games.

Tho the roster is only gonna be slightly bigger than BT3 (It had a total of 161), I can only imagine how much bigger this game’s roster will be with the inclusion of DLC and that has me even more excited for the future of this game. The possibilities for this game are practically limitless and I can’t wait personally.

It makes sense because it allows for different movesets to be created for the same character rather than customization as its quite daunting and the issue of it takes up other characters spots is dumb there is 164 spots already and there can be a ton of dlc as ndukauba said
I think they should have a dynamic character option, for instance you can hold any Goku, like give him feet Kame, Power pole and Bite and you end up with DB Goku, swap out power pole for like Koaiken Assault and youd get mid Goku. It would be weird but be cool

The letdown for me is No Super saiyan scouter era vegeta & the costume list will be sparse.
Like are they really going to put effort in vegeta early costumes? Its literally bulma armor & badman. While in raging blast you could get super vegeta in buu Saga jumpsuit.
I agree, but I think the issue with Xenoverse is how that game hardly had in-game transformations, and most transformations were separate characters, and unfortunately were reskins, which I don't think helped its case. I agree with everything else though.

I like The Idea 💡because The Developers/Producers know how to make it work
There's a lot of new fans that don't that much about the Tenkaichi Series and probably don't know how the character select scene works. Probably confusing the roster with the character select screen (which has yet to be revealed).
My only concern is if say Goku (Super) only has God, Blue, and Ultra Instinct as transformations without the other Super Saiyan transformations. That being said even if you did include them the challenge is differentiating the same forms across Goku (Z, Mid), Goku (Z, Final) and Goku (Super), otherwise it's just redundant. I can see why people would want to see a customisable moveset like what was introduced later in the Naruto Ninja Storm series

I think one big reason why variations are in dragon ball games is cause you wont always have an opportunity to transform to a certain form in the middle of a fight

Great explanation but i think the reason people are mad at different versions and saying it's a waste of a character slot is because like in fighter z yes there were a lot of Goku and Vegeta but when the dlc had 8 characters, people didn't want another goku and Vegeta instead they could of gotten someone that's not in the game yet and now that game roster is done.

What people don’t realize is that even though these are variations of characters they are not just different skins. These characters have different basic animations, different super attacks and ultimates, and usually different transformations attached to them. And those different transformations have different basic animations and super attacks as well. I think the people complaining about this have never played the original games, while majority of the people that played the old games are excited to see variations like goku (mid) make its return
It really used to bother me but I've gotten over it a bit throughout the years. I just want a DB game where I can freely play as Goku in the EoZ Gi that can transform from SSJ all the way to UI. Obviously GT and DB Kid Goku would be separated but I'd combine Super and Z Goku and just be able to customize their movesets

Everybody should be grateful that we got 164 characters in a BASE ROSTER game while 99% of xenoverse and fighterz roster is locked behind paywall just to get another variation of goku/vegeta 🤣🤷♂️
I think what people don't want is 5 different Goku's, but I feel we all loved Tenkaichi 3 what it was. Having different varieties is good because it makes the game competitive. It gives it a way to also play the story to want those characters as well. I understand why they don't, but without varieties of the same character, it's not Tenkaichi.
It also gives room to appreciate the skill gap and growth of various characters. Like Goku(Early) vs Goku(End), Vegeta(Scouter) vs Vegeta(End). Even in their base forms to see their different techniques from their respective sagas is why variations are important to have.

Yeah, I don't want 5+ character slots for just Goku when you can easily take those 5+ slots and make them as separate presets under Goku. That way those extra Goku's are still in the game, but thy just aren't taking up a slot anymore.
@@FearedKamil Does that really matter? In the end that's just visual and the game won't have more charaters if you do that. The tenkaichi games were marketed as having a lot of charaters by counting the transformation and variants, and that was by building and adding on the previous game. Sparking zero would already be fighting an uphill battle by having to have more charaters than bt3 while being made on time where making games takes more money and time. If they did it like raging blast, then there's no way it would have the same amount as bt3.

@@ssjgotenks2009 There's no such thing as taking away the space of a character. They have limited time and budget to make the game in. If a character variation doesn't exist, they wouldn't put a different character in this place, - They just would have fewer slots. Creating a new model vs creating a new move is nowhere near on the same scale of development time

Sure they can add everything. But with variations there is much more possibilities to basically monetize every single variation in itself, potentially.
And that is what I do not like.
I can’t help but think adopting a roster system like Xenoverse 2, where different forms of a character are selectable under one slot, would’ve added a fantastic touch! It could have allowed for more characters on the main roster, each with their distinct slot. I do understand the strategic aspect of separate slots for DLC profitability, especially with different forms, but this is just my perspective. Overall, still excited for what’s to come!

They are necessary honestly. How else can they give us all their forms. I'm definitely not rather have one goku with all transformations and have to go through them all to get ultra instinct. It also makes story mode more accurate and have battle specific scenarios with their time periods. And if you're not a fan of super like I am, then you still have their z variations

So here is my opinion on the matter: I do not mind variants of characters like Goku and Vegeta, because their movesets and such has changed throughout the series. BUT, I don't think every character needs multiple variants just for the sake of it. Like for example, I do not think characters like Krillin or Tien needs variants because their moveset has stayed relatively the same throughout the series.
I don't know how many people will agree with me on this but I also do not see the point of separating Vegito into a Z variant and a Super variant, because the only difference is that Vegito (Super) has one additional transformation. I can see people say "But what if Goku (End of Z) and Vegeta (End of Z) fuse. It wouldn't make sense for them to have access to Super Saiyan Blue" and I think it's super easy to fix. Just lock the Super Saiyan Blue transformation
Tbh I think everyone who was in the TOP will have a super variant because that was the point of them being there. So I can see piccolo krillin tien roshi 17 and 18 and everyone else having a super variant. And I do think they should separate z and super gogeta and vegito because two different series. They have different respective moves. And it makes sense considering we have variations so it should be consistent in that regard and doesn’t bother nobody. I don’t want vegito having ssj and blue when he doesn’t even transform into ssj in super lol. And I want the gogeta that fought janemba, and not automatically have in my arsenal blue and base form

and About Vegito he should not be seperate because that would ruin the entire fun of that character,i was excited for a bt4 because i wanted to transform into every form form beggining but if Vegito wont be able to transform into ssj then ssb that would be a deal breaker for me and alot of others

and Goku and vegeta being different because they have too much forms or somthing and because dbs Goku and Vegeta have different moves they can use for thier characters(and the same goes for Gogeta) but with Z Vegito and Super Vegito have the exact same moves since dbs Vegito only used blue so just make him one characters

I think the Tenkaichi devs have the opportunity to make them more unique in this game by adding signature skiils like in RB. I feel that that could jusrify the character variarions for people

feel like anything they add 4 dlc should already be in the game
I feel like an easy way of making sure they don't make more character slots for different variations of characters is simply give us the option to swap out skills for our characters like we could in Raging Blast, so if I an playing as base form Goku I could swap our the default moveset for his early moveset, they would be a lot more engaging with the game and could make the opportunity to add a lot more skills to the game.
This is the problem with swapping skills. It defeats the purpose of making different combo strings for different variations. Now if the variations have the same combo string then I can understand, but I highly doubt they’re gonna do that.
@@brianjensen3576 I think if I had to choose between those though I would choose skills, like if I wanted to play as Frieza in the Rahing Blast, he only has one variation but you can swap put skills for him so he can use a lot more of his moves from the show.....they could just do both though, that would be nice
@@joshuafleming5380 but you can still have those skills along with unique combo strings for that specific variation that fits the theme the character had at the time. Understand that we live in an era where DLC exists. By the end of this games life cycle we’re gonna have at least an additional 50 characters to the already insane sized roster. I’m sorry, but I’ll take the multiple variations of characters to get the truly authentic experience you couldn’t get by having characters with swappable supers. It’s time people stop complaining about DLC and just accept it’s the reality of video games now. As long as they’re not insanely priced and they’re about 12 to 15 bucks for a character pack then that doesn’t bother me at all. If that’s too much, then you probably shouldn’t be gaming anyway.

I mean it's literally how previous games were. I think there will only be 2 (3 if we consider daima) variations of previously existing characters like goku and Vegeta. We'll simply get DBS variants of each characters from the show and new characters like Jiren or DBS Broly

what I have a problem with are characters who didn't Change phisicaly having Different variations cause Goku and Goku(super) didn't have to be differentand the worst thing is that Goku(super) is not able to Use ssj2 and 3 and dont tell me that he didn't do much as those forms in super which is not true about ssj2 cause he uses that form alot and i want a dragon ball simulator like game where i creat the fights and I want goku to be able to use all his Forms and not be restricted

I think what's happening is that ppl think instead of making so much Goku and Vegeta take up slots it should of been structured similar to the BT3 where for instants when you click on a variation of goku or Vegeta you can select their different forms which in turn makes it less confusing having them scattered all across the roaster and which allows for the roasters to utilize other characters

Yea ragging blast 2 was better because there was only 1 Goku but each slot was a different personalities based on saga so Goku would need to have multiple different spots on roster

Character variations work because it gives you variation between all the versions. In Xenoverse for example, SSj, SSj2, and SSj3 Goku are just power ups and use the same supers and combo variations. Not a fan of that
I personally don't mind character variations at all. The only thing I don't like about this roster in particular is that how they showed it in the trailer, it appears that the transformations will occupy character slot also. Labeling this as the biggest roster in any DB game in history could be misleading with transformations occupying so many slots, but we shall see when the game comes out.

These are only a few examples. Removing even one could harm the story in the game. On top of that, we will lose iconic attacks. I don’t know about you but goku didn’t use super spirit bomb on vegeta and go super saiyan in the saiyan saga.

I don't think we should have variations of transformation we have enough characters in dragon ball to serve as there own characters but just to have half the roster literally the same character we seen in legit every dragon ball game is crazy ik for a fact there finna be at least 4 gohans 3 piccolos and there transformation count as different characters at this point it looks like they finna have a shorter roster than xenoverse 2 and pls don't bring up since it happened in a older more outdated game does mean we should do it again

Variations of Goku are officially confirmed on the official Japanese and European websites. The variations of Goku that are confirmed for now are
- Goku (Z - Early)
- Goku (Z - Mid)
- Goku (Z - End)
- Goku (Super)

Variations aren’t the issue it’s lazy variations that are the problem for example goku black base in xenoverse 2 has identical animations to regular goku with 2 different supers that is a lazy variation. But if the variations play distinctly differently I’m talking animations, supers ect than they aren’t a problem
I think this is a solid take, minus 1 thing. Though I feel you on the notion of having characters fight uniquely, when you have a roster that large, they are bound to have some characters be clones of others. I really do hope they are all unique, but that may not be the case with Sparking Zero

@@ssjgotenks2009An issue for stacking transformations is that it will be hard to go blue in game as it will take too long. You would have to sacrifice not doing ultimates for some time.

you dont have to sit through all of goku's forms if you want to use ssg you can skip right throug ssj,ssj2 and 3 and transform instantly
