I just saw them 4 days ago at Merlefest. It's basically their home turf. They opened with Appalachian concerto and by the end I had tears running down my cheeks. They make some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard. And Jens is as good as anybody ever played a banjo
RIP Late Night with David Letterman. I have great respect for him for representing musicians of many different genres on his show. It seems that he was among the few that would represent the somewhat less popular genres like bluegrass, whereas other shows seem to stick to the formula that 'works' and have the pop, hip-hop, etc. artists and that's it. This is just all around beautiful music, and I'm really happy that David Letterman featured these wonderful musicians. Bravo!
Had the immense pleasure of seeing them with a symphony quartet this weekend in Farmers Branch. It was incredible. I think the entire festival came to a dead quiet when they started playing. So beautiful .
The tune is actually 'Jack of the Wood; (no 's' at the end of Wood), named after a pub in Asheville NC. I was the only non-blood-related Kruger Brothers 'family' to be present at both the sound check and the taping. So lucky am I!! I would have liked to hear more of the 3 Kruger Brothers; seems like I heard mostly clawhammer and the strings, both of which were super, but, IMHO, the focus should have been on the award winner, Jens Kruger, and his trio with bis brother Uwe and 'brother' Joel!
Fantastic of course but it seems to me that when each person is playing their solo, others should lay back a little. This is kinda noisey....Jack Baker NYC/NJ
I really like this but it really falls short of showing the prowess of the banjo player and the Kruger Brothers overall. Check out their rendition of the Orange Blossom Special.
Perfectly delightful! Bravo!
Jens music always makes me cry. Both happy and sad at the same time. How beautiful.

I was blessed to see these outstanding musicians at the 2020 Wintergrass, along with Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn. Heavenly!

Amazing performance! The “Kruger’s are a force to be reckoned with!
Stunning! Joyful! I can't stop smiling when I watch this. Standing O!
A true representation of a great American music style and talented musicians that love what they are doing!

I like the addition of the string quartet in the arrangement. Great tune, well done.
This is really amazing.
Glad the cameraman gave credit and face time to the strings in the back
They all make it look so effortless. Stunning.

Steve is a great player, but Jens is the KING! I LOVE the Kruger brothers. They are awesome.

YEE HAW!!! It’s always a joy to listen to Steve Martin play the banjo with any of his friends.
Congratulations Jens , great job guys. Love the arrangement.
Beautiful Bluegrass, Clawhammer, and Classical fusion.
Beautiful. The back up strings give it such a full sound.
Rocky Grass festival this coming week, I think they are on the list and I would love to see them if I lived near enough!

Hopp Schwiz! Gratuliere, Ihr wart beim Letterman.
No one creates grandeur like Jens - with or without bowed strings as backup..
Haha! Uwe's faces at 2:52! That's SOO him!
What's the name of the song and who is the cellist? Great tune! Hummed it all day!
Mind blowing banjo player. Check them out live if you ever get a chance.
I liked all of it!

Мужики жжгут!!!!
Jack of the Woods ( The Kruger Brothers have an earlier version on UA-cam)
Well "hello Steve Martin!" What a pleasant surprise to see him stringing great tunes with the Kruger Bros. Love these guys!!!
Uwe and Jens are my cousin´s :)
related how? Do you live in Switzerland? :)
Wonderful sounds! If Letterman had featured more stuff like this and a lot less of left wing political attacks, I might have kept watching him longer.

What is this song called?
It is called 'Jack of the Wood'.
Bobbie Dundas From the Appalachian Concerto I think
Wesley Wolfbear Pinkham Jack of the Wood is a tavern/club in downtown Asheville N.C. that they sometimes play at.
@@Wezuhley It's actually on "Between the Notes"
@@popoaggie yes. i mis-ID'd the song. i saw them at Isis out there but would have loved to seen them at Jack of the Wood.
Steve is Claw Hammer on a Traditional Five Stru=ing & Hans is on A Bluegrass Picking Banjo with a resonator
Uwe is my Cousin.

Genialer Bluegrass von großartigen Instrumentalisten ... leider völlig "zugeseift" von diesem überambitionierten Streichquartett :(
So Guät
The glistening glorious layer italy fry because milkshake globally remain amid a childlike dollar. rhetorical, simplistic lunge
Pardon the language but fuckin awesome! Makes me wish I had picked up the banjo instead of acoustic guitar..
