    It's not rigid power. It's external muscular power. Fa jin is internal power that can be used in many ways. It can help your striking or it can just upset your balance and cause an opponent to move in ways he does not want or expect.

    Good can understand
    My question is when you use your limb (arms and fist) as a media to deliver power from hip and shoulder, at what point of contact would your limb (arms and fist) be tensed ? Would they remain soft or be in tension at the moment of explosion?
    Same thing goes for shoulder, would u tense ur shoulder to explode or channel your energy or it is just a passive media (in this case only hip)? I thought taichi only uses hip generated power from leg gravity and should not tense the shoulder area?
    Thanks

      @Naiddou 3 роки тому

      i think you won't tense any part other than fist just when you touch the victim you get the energy from legs hips head then arms you move your hips and back plus arms relaxed to deliver the punch you rotate the hand that is punching when it hits it closes into a fist automatically just move you hands first when relaxed wouldn't your hands close into a fist bythemselves it's the same when punching but you use you arms like whip to close your hands into a fist ( my english isn't my native language so im sorry if there's any mistakes) of try watching Erle montagiue's videos on that subject

    The problem with understanding is not your English but the concept itself. I think the idea of soft power is difficult to comprehend without experiencing it your self. I still do not understand it but I do know it knocked me down with out feeling great force. People need to experience that to accept it as real.

      The real trick is the direction of the force and the concentration on the force density. If the directed force is very focus , the distance the force will travel after the impact will be further. Also , because the punch is relax all the time except on the impact. According to Force equals to reaction force , on the impact , the force dive into the body , and the reaction force will bounce back in the opposite direction , but because your hand is not on the contact point , therefore , the reaction force will bounce within the flesh of the body , that created injuries on the inside (well , this might need some science experiment to know the exact effect). The whole concept of internal injuries , is just like a vibrating glass , creating a vibration greater than the glass could hold , then the glass break , just like our tiny blood vessel. Anyway , brain concussion in fighting is real. Understanding on how brain concussion works will give you more ideas on this topic. Hope this helps.

      @@Llucius1 this and the one above are the comments I was about to write. Interesting.
      The "yellow pages" explanation makes more sense than all the explanations I have heard so far.

    When punching do you sink weight into your back leg or front leg?

    • @JackyChanTQRC108
      @JackyChanTQRC108  5 років тому +1

      sinking goes down, front leg / back leg really depending on whether you are sitting or lunging. In order to maximize the power of punch, Punch of fist, raising of arm, hip turning, lunging, they all work separately in a synchronized order, because the power reaching to the punching surface varies (i.e., the power from the ground will need to travel from heel to fist takes longest time, full sitting-lunging transformation will take 1 full step length, hip turn, raising of arm take. It is like a running race, instead of all runner starting at the same point and finishing differently, we try to find all involved parts of the body, start at different time and reach the finishing point at the same time.

    Sorry, but is there same knowledge you don´t know. The Chi have 7 aspects, or 7 lows, and only 3 are physics, 2 are psychological and 2 ares espiritual. For the Fai Ching is necessary to manage the 7 aspects in the same time whit the 7 mental capacity that form the human intelligence.

    Thank you, I watched Dragon Ball Z as well when I was a child. They show internal power in practice, as well as the focusing of chi and fajin, with Goku's ability to channel and throw a spirit ball, but never explained how it works. Screw science for saying that no opponent that actually intends to harm you has ever been affected by Taichi techniques, or that any competition like MMA has ever shown someone using Taichi as a serious martial art. The huge amount of demonstrations with willing participants should be enough to convince anyone that Taichi is like totes for reals, and that a Taichi practitioner would totes overwhelm a boxer, Muay Thai practitioner or general MMA fighter! Plus there are like 10 seasons of Dragonball Z!! You just don't see it, because Taichi is just too dangerous. Never mind the many videos where Taichi masters seriously believe their art enough to take on other fighters that have actually fought others in full contact. Those Taichi masters just looked like they got totally owned by even amateur fighter of other disciplines.
