I don't test beetroot and carrot. However, if you intend to use them for hard food, you can either cook them or cut them into small pieces.

I bought it a couple of months ago and actually, the battery is not working anymore. I contacted customer support but they have not responded for a week! I should not have paid over 40 quid for it... You should know there is no way to have your blender fixed.
